Hi Amy, please PM me your contractor contact details, if convient - how much damage in total. Thanks for sharing. -
False ceiling is up! But the contractor leave a hole for the aircon. It seriously look awkward and attention grabbing. Can anyone tell me whether this is the norm? I tried to get my contractor to make it smaller but he insist that this is the only way if we still want to open the flap of the aircon for cleaning. But can't it be made smaller? any kind soul please advise?

Electrical wiring! Living room Wiring for lights Wiring for TV point Shifting of light point to wall directly beside the main door = $100. Reasonable?? MBR Shifting of toilet light and heater points from wall to wardrobe Concealed point for wall fan No wiring done for 2nd bedroom and kitchen (trying not to hack the wall tiles) so as not to burst the budget!! The more we discussed, the more things we felt necessary to add. The reno cost only have additions and no subtractions!!

Next up is.... Washing Machine Base Kitchen Cabinet Base Fridge Base Sink Base This sink base is 3ft. Contractor advised us to make a 4ft sink base but we thought the extra 1ft would be too small to make any difference so we insisted on 3ft. However, upon seeing the sink base, my wife thought that it was really too small with no preparation space at all. (Actually, she went to the Dew Spring facebook and saw a neighbour's sink base that is extended and thought it look nicer!!) Hence, we get our contractor to extend the base by another 1 feet which cost a add-on of 60 bucks!! Lesson learnt: Plan and consider carefully before the work is carried out! Any changes after that = $$! This is how it look in the end...extended sink base By the way, the bases were made with our spare tiles from HDB even though our contractor said he will source from outside when we ask him about it. Is it ok to use the spare tiles???

Air Con is Up: Panasonic Inverter System 2: Blower unit in MBR + Living RM The Aircon guys from courts but their vehicle printed ALLBEST......... At first I thought they will run the trunking from MBR to Living room using the passage way. Trying hard to visualize how it will change the look and feel. I had a pleasant surprise when they mentioned they can run the trunking via the 2nd Bedroom. They spent the whole morning....finally complete around 2pm. Overall, I feel they did a good job.

Initially the quote was "Alum.sliding window for s.balcony - 3-way" $460. Later Henry mentioned might need to have green tinted glass + White Frame (WPC) to match the Service yard door,so was increased to $650. But when he came, he was also not sure if ours was the green tinted glass............. He will confirm us the price after he check with the window contractor but have not got back to us yet....now that u mentioned, going to ask him tomorrow......

First Item up: Service Yard Windows: I requested for 3-way window so I will have at least 2/3 of the window space when all panels are push to 1 end. Henry(my contractor) mentioned that this window will cost more than he initially quoted as he have to use tinted green glass to match the kitchen door. No matter how I look at it, it don seem green........................................

Hi Ayazumi, I fine with the guys kicking soccer since they only come over during the weekends.....in fact our place is quite quiet during the few times I went....glad to have them around to create some noises.... Our front gate was provided by HDB... I cannot choose.... If you are getting one on your own, wise to get a better quality wan.... My NEW gate has many wear and tear scars.....see below pics- I actually indicated this on my HDB defects report -but nothing was done....... I guess I can still live with it so I never follow up further with HDB on this item..... As I had not move in yet, not sure even if any cleaners are cleaning our corridor at the moment. While I have the panel on the gate, my flooring don have a step as the design is for it to be wheel-chair friendly. Not sure if this will cost more water to spill into my flat during corridor cleaning? Anyone have any experience to share?
