  1. Good la! Haha! By the way, here's to link to the t-blog: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47794&st=0
  2. Hi, congrats on ur purchase! there was a blog earlier last yr by Akitsuki titled "Serangoon North Renovation by Defong Interior Designer" that documented a very comprehensive reno journey with Defong. had some good reviews. can check it out. IMHO, shd keep the storeroom, esp it's not in the way of your living hall & kitchen (unlike in my case even that i kept it). trust me, it'll b very very useful. if u intend to remove the wall between living hall & kitchen, it'll already create a more spacious feel of the whole place without having to do much other hacking & build-up again (all these cost). By the way, u bou the access area too? this already adds on to your living space Looking forward to follow ur reno journey and pics! Enjoy!
  3. Mine's a 3-rm corridor unit next to corner. Abt the same layout as urs. but it's a 3A 74sqm or 796sqf so slightly bigger than urs lor! Hee hee U r rite, i've quite a fair bit of built-ins. Besides the kitchen cabinet, which was included in the standard package, the carpentary already made up abt $13K of my overall $48K complete overhaul (except bedroom floors - overlay with laminates - & door frames) (inclusive of abt $3.2K of full electrical works) I kept the storeroom - in fact, i hacked the original (which was part of the living hall area) & re-erected it at the kitchen area (as i had a relatively big kitchen) to make the living hall bigger - to hide my bulky & unsightly stuff.. hee hee Besides this, din change the layout & went for a more conventional contemporary look because of the folk at hm.. wld hv gone off-track a little if staying alone.. My original floorplan What I did
  4. Hi Mrs Loo, hv been following ur blog in silo too! Haha! Ur plc very nicely done up too! Congrats! Can't recall urs is which model 3-rm..
  5. Oh that's a little small (mine 74sqm 3A model so slightly bigger nia ). Regardless, u've done up a very nice n cozy nest! Njoy!!
  6. aiyo, the 80s 3-rm flats kitchen very big liao lo. i even shrunk it by pushing my storeroom (hacked & re-erected) from my living hall (to make living hall bigger) into the kitchen area. Din remove the storeroom in between cos still essential to keep many bulky & unsightly stuff.. haha!
  7. Wah very bold wor bro! but ok la, my hse oso used wood top before the overhaul (using indian granite now ) like tt u can refresh ur kitchen top every few yrs for new look ma! kekeke by the way, the cabinet was done up by ur id/contractor but the top from ikea?? or entirely ikea?
  8. 10Q 10Q! yah, that is the BR. pic taken jus after reno, so still swee swee.. things getting a little messy by now.. haha! I'm not sure abt the rate (din ask for breakdwn then). overall $2.5K (w GST) for whole hse: 2 x rainbow blinds for LH (2.8m) and BR (2.2m) + day & night curtains for MBR (2m). thou my windows relatively wider than most 3-rms, this was one item i definitely overspent (kena chopped?) anyway price 9 mths ago; shd b cheaper now as getting more avail in mkt.. My LH blinds
  9. Err.. bro Nex, r u using wood for kitchen top? Or is it not finished yet or is it wood look-a-like solid surface.. kekeke
  10. Hi Littlegac, welcome to the 3-roomer club in advn! All the best in our sourcing n reno journey. Lots of bros n sis to share their experiences.. Looking forward to ur posts soon!
  11. Hi Nexer, jus ventured upon ur bolg! welcome to the 3-roomer club! looks like ur reno is coming along well ready for CNY! can't wait too c the completed proj! Frm ur pic, looks like light (naked light?) is indeed 'leaking' out from the side. not sure if this is the intended effect. jus to share, i used this for my plc. when the light is on, there is this shadow/silhouette effect w 'halo' of light surrounding it. not sure if urs same. otherside, think it's about the size of the cut-out hole or alignment. ya better question ur ID/contractor lo!
  12. Hi, just ventured upon ur blog! welcomed to the 3-roomer club! looks like ur hse is coming along well ready for the CNY? Haha! Got ur curtains & blinds already? but just to share, this is raindow blinds i used for my plc. it's alternate opaque and see-thru blinds so u can hv the flexibility of allowing light to come in or not or partially by pulling the blinds up or down. when i did my hse last Apr-May, there wasn't many print choices recently got more in the mkt liao.. Rainbow blinds
  13. Ya! Me too! Bcos the changes were made like 'in the process' so the paperwork came much later. Heng din come up to a lot for me!
  14. I refer to the shadow/silhouette around the light when on. Like this effect very much! I used the same DLs for my whole hse.. DLs in my bedroom
  15. So Ikea called before delivery? If they already at doorstep liao still not bad they accord to re-schedule delivery. Hv a gd rest!
  16. Abt there abt there! We need work very hard indeed! Jia you!
  17. Sama sama lor bro! Care to share (or PM) wats the damage? My A&A n builders >45K liao for complete overhaul (except room flr tiles n door frames). Really broke!!
  18. Ya dun think so much! Njoy the fruits of the investmt n hard work first! Hee hee!
  19. Wah bro u box up the ceiling in ur toilet oso. Any concern of moisture in toilet affecting the box-up in the long run? Cove light in kitchen oso quite challenging to keep clean in view of smoke n oil but it's nice de! Haha!
  20. Getting nicer by the day! Make me itchy wanna redesign mine again.. I use same DL as u. Simply like the "shadow" effect, do u? EZ lift considered too, but not enof hanging capacity n strictly indoor right? So I kept to gd old bamboo (aluminum now) system.. cos prefer the smell of sun on our clothes.. Haha!
  21. Wah! Very nice!! Can't wait to move in!!
  22. it was sure draining during the process.. & now it's lots of cleaning (the dust my goodness!), packing & unpacking for u... kekeke.. but it's so so fulfilling at the end right? just nice for CNY!
  23. Hi sis, 40K for a complete overhaul of a 3-rm is not unthinkable. completely overhauled (except room floor tiles & door frames) my 74sqm 3A (what's ur 3NG?) last Apr-Jun for more than this (broke now ) visited ur blog.. hope to follow ur reno journey & pics.. njoy the journey!
