There's an old issue of Home & Decor (Feb 12) that featured on "Live large in 500sqf" c/w space planning strategies, furniture that fits anywhere, 16 big ideas for small homes, etc. Can chk it out! Let me know if u wish to get it frm me.. Looking forward to ur reno journey.. (dunno why image not upright..)
  4. Welcome to RT. Looking forward to ur reno journey! Mind share wat hse r u doing up?
  5. OIC light cooking nia! Back to ur 'plain' white kitchen cabinets, ya agree wif bluecheeze tt u cld use a bright color glass backsplash like red, orange or yellow. I used a lime green glass backsplash to add a refreshing touch to my light + dark colonial cut cabinets n imperial black granite top...
  6. So there'll still b a hood over the somewhat island stove?
  7. Jus checked with my HDB friend who is familiar wif HDB resale policies.. She said once seller signed option & went thru 1st appt cannot change price liao. But buyer can still chow kuan cancel. If seller cancels, buyer can sue or ask for compensation but most buyers wont wanna go thru such. Anyway u jus threaten la hope seller proceed wif sale. Usu HDB will mediate but it's still a dispute between buyer & seller.. Ask ur agent do something lah!
  8. Ya when I was choosing colors, my ID oso advised me keep to max 3 color else may get too busy n tired of it soon, unless we plan to go for really colorful or cultural scheme or plan to reno every few years... Anyway I went for contemporary theme frm start so kept to light + dark wood w piano white (yeah the very 'in' white now )
  9. Urs open toilet meh? U mean the MBR toilet? 😘 Kekeke!
  10. Ya 白纸黑字 wat's there to tok? But jus a word of precaution not to scare u.. hope seller dun play dirty or sabo the reno lor... But shd b ok de lah!
  11. The color theme, nice leh! But frm the position of ur stove, u plan to do cooking facing the living hall?
  12. Pls share if u get more quotes. Seriously think I kena chopped carrot head le...
  13. oic! my id oso did the same. brought 3 couples (if i din recall wrongly) but that was before i moved (back) in, & he always asked permission first. think he oso scared i tell/show his potential customers the not-so-nice part of the works.. kekeke
  14. we shall see.. heehee! but seriously it's really ex lah! i'm sure there r other better ways to spend the $ on the hse ya!
  15. feel honoured bro! ur hse a showrm liao!
  16. dun worry abt the greedy seller.. cannot do anything to u now as far as the re-sale is concern.. ya enjoy ur retail theraphy ba! that ID quite gd leh, so fast give u 3D drawing liao to entice u (but i bet only 1 piece right?). i oso ever encountered one ID very fast gave me 3D drawing of my living rm & kitchen liao after only 1st meet-up & sire survey. of cos without really knowing & understanding wat i'm looking for, the design not to my liking. eventually oso never engage him. then he asked me why i nvr give him a chance after he had spent much efforts to come up with 3D drawing even before i engage him?? i said no obligation de mah!!
  17. Hi Swaskie, i read in Blue77's blog tt u could only go see ur reno after work. Same for me. Need to work in the day mah so could only go down in the eve and over the weekends (and usu Sun no reno work). For me, the light condition a bit poor in the eve so couldn't see the worksmanship (e.g. tiling gap, alignment, etc.) very well. By the time i spot it in the day during weekend it's often too late liao.. So do carry a strong light (if ur light condition poor like mine) with u when u go down to ground zero.. Wish all smooth smooth for u lah!
  18. Hi Swaskie, i'm the one who shared in Z3phy's blog. I did for my living rm (3.1m) + bedroom (2.3m) for abt $1.8K i think (bcos my invoice is lump sum inclusive of full-length day & nite curtains for MBR) abt 9 mths ago.. Thinking back, i oso find it a bit pricey (who knows mayb i kena chopped carrot head) but i must say i like it very much amid the other kind of blinds. It's very useful esp for my unit along the corridor (although my windows r high enof a 1.8m guy cannot see into the hse wihtout tip-toe.. hee hee )
  19. arhhh paiseh! sala blog! it's makanology & Mr E drooling over the smeg fridge (and matching dishwasher)..

  23. Resolved le 就好! By the way where u got the "S*h*i*t" paper.. literally..? Hee hee!
  24. No worry bro (or sis?), it's not about how fancy the reno is but the sense of accomplishment at each stage of completion that we all rejoice in, and pics mark a record of the reno progress thru to final completion..
