Ya, shopping cum residential on top (http://www.singaporenewlaunchguru.com/upper-serangoon-meyappa-chettiar-commecial-residencial-site/) I dun like leh, It's already very convenient wif Nex, Bendemeer HDB mall & City Sq Mall jus 1-2 mrt stops either way. PP is so small, and there is only a one-loop service rd into the estate. With the SC, sure conjested & crowded one lor (think Serangoon Central wif Nex).. Then my quite & nice neighbourhood will be gone.. Or either the SC will not b popular wif the neighbouring bigger SCs.. the plot of land not really very big anyway.. heard they r going vertical..)
  10. ooo.. VOs r scary.. one thing commendable abt mine was he had 'upgraded' many stuff for me at his own accord.. so the VOs were minimal.. heng! (mayb already factored in the original quotation but gay gay said upgrade for free.. watever think on the +ive side lor ) (by the way, i took up the 3-rm resale package + add-ons...)

Wish u a pleasant reno journey working with the chosen one, unlike Beng & me (if u hv been following Beng's t-blog.. . by the way Beng, when i first met up wif mine, he was quite responsive de.. came up to my hse to view & do measurements before coming up wif his suggestions & quotes & he was quite on time too.. but once into production mode... haiz! ) Looking forward to following ur reno journey & updates & sharing our experience! It's not as if I had not nagged, shown my displeasure, n uttered my fair share of KNN (NB. nvr at anyone but inside me.. so lots of internal injury liao) But since can't move any faster, jus hv to move along lor.. I was staying at my bro's plc so no rush to move out.. (u staying at someone's plc now oso rite?) My only damage was my extended Extra Storage cost, which i recovered by making Mr ID pay half of my floor polishing cost.. hee hee!
  13. I understd ur worry - will they compromise on the worksmanship & quality if they try to rush everything up in the very last week!? That's why for me i kind of like extended my deadline a little at a time (within my tolerence of cos; and what high level of tolerence I had looking back.. haha! ) for them to catch up.. Mr ID was quite frank with me - that it oso cost them to delay.. So i asked him: "so why r u doing it? could we strive for a win-win, ok?!"
  14. OMG!! reading ur blog is really like going thru my own!! we can be the best of brothers liao!! But dun worry too much.. despite the delay (see if u beat my record of 2 months 22 days for a 3-rm resale w complete overhaul! hee hee ), i'm sure things will eventually work out well for u la, just as it has been for me..
  15. Ya, but if my ceiling got leakage due to my neighbour upstairs.. i'll b the poor neighbour too.. so hope ti gong bo pi loh... haha Aiyo, dun like tt say! Hope u never ever gonna need to exercise the warranty lah! For me, some time after the handover, I got sm minor issues like a hairline gap between my study table & the wall (ya it's suspended kind), a faulty T5 light, room floor laminate showed signs of 'bloating' at sm joints, etc. I contacted my ID directly to get ppl come inspect or fix, so far he had responded but very very slow lor (even slower than during reno of cos).. Then subsequently, i dun bother to call already for trivial matters (e.g. my bathrm vanity cabinet doors became misaligned ) But for major ones, if any (touch wood again), sure will go to 3D directly de!

Anyway, do drop by.. nice & quite neighbourhood currently.. that is, until URA decided to build a commercial complex on the big open space outside the MRT Stn under the master plan i understd..

  19. Ya, reno permit & wall hacking permit different. For example, I got my reno permit - which allows the floor & wall tiles hacking - rather quickly but the permit for the hacking & re-erection of the storeroom took weeks until I complained to HDB. This delay had caused me weeks of delay to the overall reno!!

  21. Ya HDB's worksmanship really cmi! Take my walls for example, u know the 20-something yr old flats' walls all very rough (machiam the moon's surface) one. Even after plastering the whole house still can't make it smooth & flawless like the new flats let alone condos.. Wah ur contractors/sub-contractors oso cmi leh! What u hv described r just basic requirements nia! Hope they get it all done swee swee for u quick quick! Gd luck!!
  22. That's only 1 week more to go!! Can't wait to start the great transformation rite away rite!!? By the way, wat did the IDs say abt ur mass hacking & re-config? But only when the appointed ID submits the hacking permit application to HDB then will know rite? Or did HDB approve liao together with the reno permit?

  24. Hi dreamzgal, jus to check, the bamboo holder u showed above is what u installed for the hse? Does ur flat c/w those std HDB bamboo holders (holes-in-the-wall kind)? If yes, u mean u can replace the HDB ones & install ur own (or install ur own on top of the HDB ones)? HDB allows it? Thx!
