Day 1 - Gone are the Old Hacking work done to the kitchen floor tiles, ground floor toilet and living room. Marble has to go cos the difference in salvaging the marble and laying new tiles is $200. Decided to let it go.

some times I just wonder if most reno id are slow... -
Sorry to hear that. I will be equally pissed when things like that happened.

I wanted to widen too but was told it's not possible.

does anyone stack/place washing machine and dryer in the toilet on ground floor? Is there any concern about the hot air, I.e. no proper ventilation which may lead to problems?

Wil U Be Affected By Chinese 7 Ghost Month To Kiv Your Reno?
AxelC replied to kingz's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
If you can live with the reno work going on and don't mind the hassle, I guess it's fine. Personally, I would prefer to get it done before moving in. My ID told me there are fewer ppl doing reno during the 7 month... but its good in a way. At least, they don't rush your reno and thus not compromising on quality. -
Wil U Be Affected By Chinese 7 Ghost Month To Kiv Your Reno?

Starting my Reno before and likely to finish during. Will only move in after. -
It suddenly dawned on me... what happened to the fruits and barang barang that were used for praying during opening ceremony. Any idea?

The deal has been inked. Final reno costing at 76k (excluding electrical works). It's going to be a massive overhaul. Id drawings will come in next week and reno the following week. Just hoping that everything will run smoothly. Exman has been very helpful in sharing his experiences :-) Thanks bro. Reno Starting Date: 30 Jul 2012 Expected Handover: 30 Sep 2012

What did u have? F10 or SB740?
-
Thanks Exman. Will google it.

Removed the gate? Hmm... What if it's damaged/vandalised? Mine is a corridor unit. Another option is to get the pin type without handle.

Cool gadget! Anyone installed? I wonder what can one do if the width between the door and main gate is less than 75mm. http://www.samsungdigitallife.com/SHS-5230.php

hmm... will see if can tuck the toilet bowl at a corner. Same goes with the bathtub to create a little more space. still got time to think.
-
Tub or shower area? I have always wanted a bath tub. Even thought of the layout in the masterroom toilet. After visiting the place, the toilet didn't seem to be big. Are any there one here who installed a bath tub? pls share. Thanks.

Second pic shows the balcony/yard. Can access from living room and kitchen. Yes, they hacked the study room. Not going to put it back. Using it as dining area so the area near the staircase is spacious.

Went to inspect the unit today. More pre-reno pics. Living, balcony, dining/study, master bedroom and common room. Hmm, the whole house is quite dark... must change! Looking forward to the transformation.

Hi hi, Welcome. I have also bought an EM in Tamp. 2nd appt on 16 Jul. I have just created a blog chat... Pls do so too. Good platform to share n seek opinion. -
Met up with an id for the second time, spent 2 hrs. Relooked and compared the quotations at home.Took another 1 hr. Seems like a full overhaul is about 70k. For those who just started sourcing for reno, really must look into the details. Then negotiate those 'high' items with your preferred reno company.

Exman and Adideam, I will make the decision after inspecting the flooring. That will be after I get my keys next week.
