  1. Sorry for the lack of updates. Baby has arrived since Monday. Been busy the entire week.
  2. Overall it's completed. Now whats left is for us to find the kinks for the final touch up together with the curtains and gas connection on Monday.. Currently in the process of moving stuff over and cleaning up the house(this needs to be done at least 3-4 times) before we think it's livable.
  3. Actually he has not more ports than yours because 2 ports are used for uplink. 3 + 5 - 2 = 6
  4. Erm.. might be a geek thing but here's a non-exhaustive list of reasons why I did it. 1) Do now so all can be concealed and neater 2) Wifi can get congested i.e. you transfer large amount of data can affect other users. 3) For wifi to cover the WHOLE house you need to have high transmission power, btw FYI, wifi runs on 2.4GHz which is the same as your microwave.. Which means, if the output is high enough the antenna can cook. I dont really want to cook anything nor risk anything to be cooked. Studies can say whatever but if my microwave can cook my wifi can too. Remember a small tealight candle can keep food warm too. 4) Ethernet has higher speed, up to 10-100 times faster than wifi anytime. 5) Common set-top box by MDA/IDA/Whatever A. More likely than not your future set-top boxes gonna look like what MIO has to offer. If you want paid tv in your room you need ethernet.
  5. Because it is really stupid when my wife is due and my priorities MUST be with my kid. Hindsight always have 20/20 vision but it's useless already. On a professional level, he made the decision, he answer for it.
  6. This is the reason why this forum existed in the first place. Consumers pay to outsource tasks that cannot be done by themselves. ID or otherwise, you accepted the job the responsibility is yours especially when you choose to push back the delivery. If I run the job myself then it's incredibly stupid to hire the main con in the first place. You want to earn your fair share, you do your fair share. You screw up, I hold you responsible. Either way it's not my company to run. how the heck i know when he got resources to put at my place. This is plain silly assumption.
  7. It should be transparent to me. You cock up the timing you answer. Especially so if you're the boss. Why am I paying if I'm doing your job? Seriously..
  8. The joker contractor happens to be the boss of the carpentry as well...
  9. Actually, the stuff were supposed to be delivered 3 weeks ago. the Joker contractor say hold it at warehouse first if not get damaged..
  10. Only the frame in the kitchen is done, there's still a few more to go..
  11. Was not given any handover date.. he has been okaying us the whole reno..
  12. The contractor is not helping by NOT sending workers to my place today... Carpentry is on going since last Wednesday. Which he said 4-5 days. Tmr is the 4-5 days. Dunno how he gonna pull out the miracle since only the kitchen frame is installed. Bloody pissed. Doesn't seem to be taking I need the freaking house now seriously.
  13. It's 4.5 inches. Should be able to put most of the things. Probably looks skinny because it's really long.
  14. Huh? Your gas pipe run thru the bath?
  15. Tiles should be fine. They take a long time to show. My parents place kitchen tiles made loud cracking noises and popped up after 15 years. Gotta be careful with laminates. If water seeps thru the gaps it's gone. My mil place ac leaked while we were sleeping. Woke up to damaged floors
  16. I not so free la.. Only bring coffee to workers every morning. I didnt know the AC people came until after work..
  17. Actually our AC is a subcon by our contractor but we dont find them that good (yet) considering the mess they made. Thou when they come to rectify they did mention their considerations when doing the trunking that way. Few important points about AC, try to have site survey with the contractor so you can tell them where you want your FCU and how to run the pipes. For gas pipes, the lesser the bends and the shorter the distance the better it is. But you still need to take into consideration with regards to concealment. Also very important is the insulation, get the better ones, armaflex class "1" half inch or equivalent ones. Gonna cost more but can last longer with less problems. For drainage pipes, there MUST be a gradient otherwise, it will be prone to leaks or molds etc.. Only FCU and Condensor is covered by warranty with the manufacturer, that is not the main area that will spoil as there are QC processes. The aircon gas is a closed system, hence MOST important for the workers to ensure that the gas pipes are done up properly, sealed without leaks. It is very hard to trace leaks and you end up having to topup gas every now and then and they will just ask you change the whole system.
  18. More nicely plastered pictures...
  19. More pictures... Mess by the AC guys... :furious: :furious: :furious: After I cleaned it up.. Am I the only dumb owner that clears up the mess of others?? Neither I nor my electrician can tahan the mess!! At least let others work in clean n clear environment mah.. Wait the workers trip or worse damage the floor.. And my cock contractor never put cardboard protection on the floor.. Lucky no dents.. The half finished ECB which is still so neat even thou not complete yet Our floor... First impression, looks like original HDB tiles enlarged :jawdrop: :jawdrop: Dont remember why we never chose the all white tiles. Hope after furniture will look ok..
  20. Yes, you are correct that HDB cannot keep cats because they need the space to roam about and **** in other people's plants(thats y they are banned). Our's is a strictly indoor cat, which has low survivability outdoors, so no diff from keeping hamsters/rabbits. A well trained cat has relatively little maintenance, it decides when to eat and always **** in the litter. I've heard of cats that are trained to use the loo including the flush, but i dont have spare loo..
  21. For those who are really curious... Plastered wall with ac trunking in the boy's room. (will be concealed with partition boards soon) Plastered wall in the girls room no trunking!! thanks to my electrician for the routing.. Cove Lights with downlights in the kids room and.. my wife's favourite, her subway tiles complete with white grout
  22. Plastered wall pics are the most boring ones. You can't see anything nor make out what's that picture is. Lol.
  23. Actually a cat will help you shoo them away. =X
  24. It depends on how he manages the schedule for the workers so they can work together simultaneously without clashing. Today I'm having the railings, windows, wall plaster, tilers and electrician working in the house. Tomorrow gas man coming change pipes. I would pref railings to be later but the parquet guys need time too
  25. whats left for your wet works?? from what you say, the remaining works more or less by different people. wet works -- 1 group boxup -- another group toilets and toiletries -- call the shop that sending recco you a installer. remove labour fee from your ID.. TV -- depends on type of bracket, some need very straight some can rotate so can have some allowance. Agent cannot delay?? Carpentry alot? if not keep your stuff in a room that doesnt have carpentry first and live out of a box lor. xiong but now no choice liao
