Unless got specific instruction, otherwise Contractor usually do the easiest way. Know them too well, so I go to very detail with the different contractors aircon, electrical, plumbing and builder,I decide on the location and even tell them where to run and where not to run their services. What ceiling height i want for each area, and how low the false ceiling to lower also have to follow my instruction.

Hi Suyun, Understand that you are going to tile the stairs. Are you tiling both the steps and the risers? How do you intend to treat the edge of the tiles? Just thinking abt tiling also, but would like to know how you 'finish' the edge of the tiles?

I actually plan the loop the lights myself, which light is individual switching, which lights cluster same switch, which light is 2-way switch etc, even locating the exact position of the switches, so that what the guys install is what I want, easier for them to carry out the work

Looks big, what's the build up?

ok, maybe show you some other aircon related photos for you to watch out: lay the refrigerant pipes and drain pipes first along the edge of the wall. Then after testing of the pipes, conceal them using box up to make it look nicer Then after, the fan coil unit to be mounted onto the box up, seamless clean look

For tiles that lay at 90 degree angle, to produce a clean cut straight line without thick 'grey' section, one have to cut both tiles at 45 deg, can be done. Will show you the photo of what's done in my hse. I don't think laying staggered will cause warping of floor tiles. Just that laying staggered will require more work and more tiles cutting ( meaning more wastage) especially when come near to the walls.
