Gosh got played out by my the kitchen renovator who I waited 2 weeks to come back from his overseas trip - increased the quote by almost 30% from $3400 to $4600. Kitchen top is another $1200. Are kitchen cabinets so ex nowsaday??? My master rm wardrobe at only 5.5ft was quoted $1595 @$290pf (aluminium glass sliding door). Anyone can recommend a more affordable & reliable carpenter with good workmanship? Many thanks!

Thanks valerie, this is very nice indeed! But my room got space constraint if I put my bed in the middle under the windows like that. Because the room does not come with an inbuilt wardrobe. It will be too small to buildup the wardrobe on either side of the queensize bed. The room is so small that it cannot even take a king-size bed.

Thank gakuseisean, I will take your suggestion! I was looking at that ikea table too. But will need to continue source other similar chairs as $179per chair is over our budget, our budget is around $90max per chair. Not familiar with the midcentury theme but it looks pretty interesting! My hubby likes this chair from Lush too. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Can this match with the dining table you suggested? http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/60161660/#/40161661

This is my master bedroom Very small. Two small weird windows on the side - thinking to cover that with an oil painting. This is on the second floor - faces out on the roads. Have to cover with blinds, curtains or tinted screen? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Now moving on to the dining room. I really cannot think of how to decorate this narrow space. Dimensions slightly smaller 6m x 3m. Going to put 2 following ceiling lights here: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Was thinking of getting these chairs & table - would it match? http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/S69889736/ http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/00210791/

Settled my lightings at life space concept at midview city today, 2 dining area ceiling lights, 3 bedroom lights & 1 kitchen light at about $700 excluding installation. Didn't realise lightings cost so much. The dining sets are mostly sold out. dining room lights Uploaded with ImageShack.us bedroom lights By san20sg at 2012-05-27 kitchen light Uploaded with ImageShack.us

My hubby likes this at natural living: By san20sg at 2012-05-26 My mother-in-law ruled it out as it is not child-friendly.

Went to Singapore expo for the audio house electrical sale. Verdict: Not worth the trip. Bought nothing. Carpark is super full and parking is expensive. Went to Ikea & Lush at Gakuseisean's suggestion & liked this: IKEA: By san20sg at 2012-05-26 LUSH:I love the stuff at Lush but they were so pricey - $2-$3k+ for the sofas & $1-2k+ for the tv consoles - over my budget even after their 30% storewide discount. I really like this but this cost $1k+ - By san20sg at 2012-05-26 Can anyone find this at half the price?

Hi I am so glad I found your post here and really inspired by your blog. Inspired by your lovely layouts in your blog, I will be following the same 3seater sofa, with hanging pic on top and opposite a lowlying console and coffee table, complete with a rug but adding a ceiling fan. I am however having trouble trying to decide on a coordinated style/theme for my living/dining area seggregated in a l-shape (my floorplan: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/85/palmlodgefloorplan.jpg/) pics of my living & dining area: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/857/022pv.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/829/024cq.jpg/ Will most appreciate your advise & recommendations. Will love to have your recommendations on the type of furniture to have & where to purchase those as well! Many thanks! Louise
