Many thanks Valerie. My hacking n tiling works take almost one whole month from 15 may to 9 June (they claim they w complete by then but I don't see how they can do that). Is this common?? So long??

delay in tiling works - expected to complete next monday hopefully. my kitchen renovator is waiting for them to complete the floor tiles so that they can take measurements. Everyone is waiting for them, aircon guy, lighting guy, electrician, & painting.

Yup that is true. Actually my contractor is quite nice lah. Just a couple of misunderstandings here & there. I over-react sometimes, do feel bad after that. Despite this, I still do not enjoy doing renovations, prefer decorating rather than renovating - will never buy an old apartment again after this. Hope this will be the last time I am doing renovations.

Many thanks all. Got all the sanitary hardware from heritage at Geylang today, total abt $2500 for 2 bathrooms (is this ex - it sort of exceed my initial budget by $500? Previously trying to contain the damage to $1000 per bathroom): Velin WC x 2 with free offset Fidelis bath mixer x 2 Tuscani shower spray x 2 Magnum basin cabinet 90cm x 1 Magnum basinet cabinet 60cm x 1 Fidelis basin tap x 2 Tower bar x 2 Tower ring x 2 Toilet paper holder x 2 FOC 2 tap stopper I hope my contractor will not get upset because I didn't buy these stuff from the shop he recommmendeded. I have not told him yet. They do not have much on display & I am too tired to run along everywhere already.

i'm looking for 12" - can only find a few models in the market, the cheapest being baron but my hubby doesn't like it. Thinking of getting a 900mm basin cabinet Magnum at $650 - is that considered too ex? Thanks.

Need to find a 12" hole WC. Only managed to find 5 models that have 12", Baron $160, Crayton $140 & Velin $350, Arino $400 & Johnson Suisse $500+. Is $350 for a WC too ex? $178 for a fidelis shower set with bath mixer $650 for 900mm basin cabinet from Magnum $100+ for mirror & glass shelf $100+ for accessories like toilet paper holder,towel bar, tower ring. Almost $1500 per bathroom. Is that ex?

I'm choosing sanitary hardware nw. Based on recommendations, I have decided on Johnson Suisse wc n basin, rubine or franke sink, fidelis shower set, tap, joven heater. No groche or hanogrohe as budget constraint. W appreciate all ur experiences n advice. Thanks!

Now focusing on two main outstanding matters- getting all my sanitary stuff n vanity top for the two bathrooms and design n decoration for the 3 bedrooms :-)

i saw this at lifespace concept at midview city for only $100+ but it is too big for my kitchen so I didn't buy.

Thanks though still not too happy about it. Not a very nice business tactic like that. But give them the benefit of the doubt lah. Maybe I will skip the master rm wardrobe & just buy from Ikea, to save $1595. Just try to focus on other stuff bah - still havent bought the sanitary hardware. Living rm & dining area should be settled thanks to gakuseisean's kind help! Now still got 3 more bedrooms to go!

He charges the kitchen much cheaper than the hacking n retiling so overall package is reasonable. Have other cheaper overall quotations previously but chose him because I thought it is a more familiar person. But now only do the hacking n tiling and I am unable to find someone willing to do such a small job - only kitchen cabinet at the same price at such short notice. Charges $120pfr kitchen cabinets & $70pfr kitchen top. So next time have to check proper pricing job by job. Hai. I'm ok now so no point harping. Have to move on.

renovations really too much work. hope i will not need to move again for the next few years at least

Abit rushed because I had to move by end June as I am expected to deliver in early august so abit stressed. Abit tight on finances too because had to pay for renovations, mortgage, hospital bills and baby expenses so overall abit overwhelmed. But still can cope lah

there was a quotation sent by email but it was not signed. I know the contractor previously so didn't think that was an issue. Hai, not liking renovations very much now.

Quite upset loh, we have agreed at the price previously when I awarded the whole job, including hacking, relaying tiles to kitchen & toilets to the contractor. I know the contractor and thought he is quite a nice guy. Guess he sublet to another kitchen renovator who come back with a price much higher who claimed he quote wrongly. Price shot up another $1.5k which I can pay for all the window grilles to the house. My god. pretty upset.

So i have no choice but to accept this revised quotation ah?? How can they anyhow increase price like this? Very insecure with the rest now, especially those works they have already completed. I am too scared for further heart attacks.
