Hi I bought a resale condo that is approx 7 years old. Initially I plan to change the indoor units and outdoor condensers. Another friend has suggested I change the copper pipes as well. I've asked for quotes and opinions from 2 reputable aircon companies. If I don't change the piping, it will be cheaper and faster to complete the renovation. If I change the piping, not only does it delay the main contractor schedule, the whole false ceiling may need to be taken down (possibly also the water heater), if the pipes can't fit through properly. The aircon company will try to reduce the number of holes to open in the ceiling, and try their best to minimize disruption but cannot guarantee. I'm in a dilemma. Aside from the costs, I'm afraid the piping works will mess up more with redoing the false ceiling, water heater (above toilet) and perhaps electrical wiring. However, I'm also afraid the existing copper piping is too old to last and if it leaks in the next 2 years, I'll have to redo the whole thing. Usually how long does copper pipes last?

Asking contractor to replace 5 indoor units and 2 outdoor condensors and copper piping in/out. PVC pipe remains. Is below a reasonable quotation? My current wooden bay windows color faded (due to sun). 2pieces, each 200cm x 60cm I received a quote from contractor to re-vanish both at $360 ($180 each). Is this reasonable? Any recommendations?

Hi MovingInSoon. Your living room definitely looks cheaper quote than mine. You kitchen area, although total length approx 14ft versus your 10ft, but your quote is alot cheaper and states Granite surface rather than solid surface (which could be plywood with Acrylic (like Ikea). TV cabinet is attached to the feature wall. My request for feature wall is actually just a fake wall to drill and mount LED TV. No fancy design. TV cabinet is on the lower portion to put SCV, DVD, MIO, etc etc. Really simple one. ...feel like a carrot now.
