  1. Good tips from ikea. I thought the ikea NYVOLL has boring square wooden legs, did you buy the legs and fit them to the bedframe? Looks nice!
  2. Your floating kitchen cabinet looks cool. Are you planning to put some lights below the cabinet?
  3. Your kitchen is big enough for a kitchen island! *envy*
  4. Now all the walls are painted white, your house looks bright now. Previously it was moody hehe.. The window in your kitchen is tinted?
  5. It was a long weekend. We took almost three long days to decide all the stuff we want for our home. Tiring but worth it. Hopefully during the reno, we will not need to decide on all the kitchen appliances, bathroom accessories as we do not want the contractor to wait for us making decision, and delay the time line due to us being fickle minded. Some of the stuff we have shortlisted. Refrigerator - Fisher & Paykel. I'm looking for a bottom freezer refrigerator and it must be white, as the refrigerator will be placed next to a black chalkboard wall. So far only Fisher & Paykel and Mitsubishi brand fits our requirement. However the Mitsubishi bottom freezer is a drawer freezer, which is really inconvenient to look for things! Washer - SAMSUNG 8692 Don't have much requirements for a washer, as long as it can do its job, that's it! Sink - Blanco. We have not used a granite sink before, but the look of this sink is really cool. Any usability issues? Such as harder to maintain?
  6. You should let us know which model of basin is this so that we can avoid. Btw, looks like the basins from hoe kee are cheaper compared to other shops we visited. We walked along balestier and jalan besar, saw the price are at least 200!.
  7. Very nicely drawn! Are you getting those lab sink for your kitchen?
  8. Yeah yeah, i couldn't stand the bronze window in my flat too.. but i'm not going to DIY it after looking at your thread hahah, too much hardwork.
  9. I think I would prefer option 2 too, if use cement to cover the gap, it won't be as flush as using gypsum board right?
  10. Hi Pinkwhale, Where did you get the timber blinds from? I have been looking for one. Can PM me the price?
  11. Anyone knows where can I look for this kind of wash basin with metal stand?
  12. No, actually is gray and white haha.. that is gray tile not black.. sorry for the poor lighting. My kitchen will be mostly, gray/stainless steel metallic / white so that i can spruce it up with green plants or or other tone of colours. I afraid if choose too colourful tiles, can't match with other kitchen appliances. Toilet theme - can't make up my mind yet By the way aya, have you bought the chair from gmarket? I saw that they have increased the price!!
  13. Countdown to KeYs Collection day! 8 more days to collect our keys! On Monday, we went to Hafary to select tiles for the foyer, kitchen floor, toilet wall and floor tiles. We do not like the idea of having wall tiles in the kitchen hence, no wall tiles for kitchen except the backsplash. No choice for the bathroom as it is too small and not much space to separate it into wet and dry area, so we'd better have wall tiles to protect the wall. Foyer tiles - This is a stone textured tiles, there supposed to be 4 different textures for this tiles. At first signt, hubby loved the rugged feel of this tile, however when we were given sample to bring home, the feel is different. We need to check this with the sales person. Kitchen floor tiles - this is our favourite made-in-italy floor tiles. Alan said that the quality of this tile is really good. We don't know about the quality, but the surface texture is really classy compared to other gray tiles. Toilet wall tiles - subway tiles and floor tiles Still not so satisfied with the toilet tiles combination.
  14. Why not suitable for your place leh? I think it depends on design of kitchen cabinet Neoby and aya, at first sight, everyone would choose 1. Haha including me, but after you see it for a while, no. 1 doesn't really give an impact and it is too small and the motives are too compact thus making the wall look 'busy'. I may choose no. 2 Nono, Alan took me to Hafary and the shop next to Hafary (forgot the name), but i specifically asked for cement patterned tiles for the kitchen back splash in which An Huat has more options for me to choose. All my other tiles are from Hafary. Will share them tonight.
  15. Hi revox88, thanks for visiting my thread. Yeah, we got this inspiration from one of the interior design websites. It looks great. But now sure how it will turn out to be in my kitchen hehe, a bit worry. Hi Aya, mosaics are nice, but cannot create the wall paper effect that we want Hi Topsy, thanks, got this idea from one of the interior design websites. I think it is common in overseas hehe but not many ppl here do that.
  16. You shower curtain is L-shape rod? How do you plan to place the shower curtain in your bathroom? If L-shape will it be too narrow?
  17. Haha, we plan to get the 2.46m one Cut it into 2m and use the rest of the table top as side table in the living room. Not sure whether Ikea provides the cutting service or we have to saw it ourselves By the way, what kind of spray did you use for your fan? $80 per fan seems like a good deal, those we saw were all priced at $98! Maybe you bought more, so cheaper?
  18. I also plan to buy 2pairs of wooden tapered leg for the karlstad sofa to make it not so ikea-ish.. Coulnd't afford the few thousand dollars sofa! And numerar kitchen top for my study table!
  19. Is there a pipe near your fridge in the kitchen? That day my contractor visited our flat and he said there might be a pipe there and needs to be boxed up.
  20. Can't wait to see your tile effect in your living room! We will be selecting tiles on Monday, but only have 3 hrs to decide. Hopefully we can make decision fast.
  21. Spoiled by too many choices, don't know which tiles to choose. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
  22. Yes, agree. Even though the flat i bought is also well maintained, but still need to change a lot of things just because it is old fashioned. I even plan to change the window.
