Week 10: Cleaning **** William has handed the flat over late last week, we're now checking each and every corner and making sure all remaining rectifications are done before the final payment! He has been very patient with us so far with our nitpicking (we're extremely fussy homeowners) and I was expecting him to explode anytime... Salutes to him! Cleaning has also commenced (it's UNIMAGINABLE, I think I almost died) and our first tenants moved in... TOYSSSSSSSS! And no, this is not the entire collection we have. Expecting furniture and electronics to be delivered by end of next week!

The covelights are actually T5 fluorescent tubes, you just have to get the correct length for your living room size. Pricing for downlights depends on whether you are getting PLC or LED lightbulbs, with LED almost 4-5 times the cost (but energy-saving). You can get 8 PLC downlights + 6 T5 tubes well under $500 or lesser.

We've started cleaning up and moving some stuff in while getting our ID to fix the remaining defects, it's really a pain in the ***! Better start your renovation soon before it hits the 7th month!

Our ID recommended us to his contact. Around $3,600 for 12ft length (4 columns wide).

@Foreveryoung: Bought back in February at $288 for 2 Flipsides (before GST). @casa: Thanks! If not swee I confirm heart pain... Handover most likely on Friday or Saturday! Then it'll be major cleaning time... The horror.

Thanks ayazumi and getzski! Looks like the heater might really be faulty, gonna ask ID tomorrow! @Punggolfamily: The Flipsides will only be installed after the handover You can visit the Kohler showroom and try out the demo sets! Our initial impression at the showroom - Koverage (green in picture) was nothing special; typical handshower experience. Komotion (blue) and Kurrent (pink) were massage sprays. Personally I loved Kotton (orange), it felt really gentle and soft on my hands! Transition between the 4 modes were smooth without water splashing all over the place. There's different types of handles for the Flipside as well (round, square, and I can't remember the last one). We were glad to be served by a friendly staff named Sebastian who gave us practical advice along the way. The only drawback for us was probably the material used for the handshower - polished chrome. Not too sure how long it will last...

Anyone knows how long should a 25L Joven storage heater take to heat up? We switched on for 10 good minutes but the water was still cold...

Week 9: Lazing Around... Lack of updates again, this time I was too engrossed playing Dragon Nest. It's a blessing I did not order Diablo 3... Here's the toilet photos as promised: Common Toilet MBR Toilet This was actually our very first purchase even before renovation started: Kohler Flipside Shower! Curtains Getting our roman blind curtains from MGL. May was very patient and helpful, giving us suggestions along with pros and cons of each type of curtain. We found the guy who came to take measurements very professional as well. Lesson learnt - Prices for roman blinds go by sqft. Normal day/night curtains would have been A LOT cheaper, but it wouldn't look nice on bay windows.

Wow, that's a tricky one! We do not have the exact measurements, but will try to measure when we get hold of a step ladder for our cleaning session this weekend!

Normal ceiling light for the kitchen but it's really bright (considering the fact there's 3 tubes inside lol) Sometimes I'd wonder why we invested in 8 LED downlights while our parents' house can achieve the same brightness with just one ceiling light. Old picture from Week 6:

Good luck with your renovation! Do share your t-blog soon Yup, most furniture should be in by the end of the month. Hopefully we can start cleaning the house this weekend!

Week 8: Glass Up! Here comes the glass room! Views from the living room are on my previous post And a simple raised platform for the MBR: Mirrors, doors and glass for the toilets were also installed this week, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures again. Only sliding door (for Bedroom 2), minor touchups/rectifications, and floor grouting left! William says he should be able to handover this weekend

Not sure if you still need these pictures, but my electrician finally got the switches working this week Covelights Only Really cozy setting, not suitable for reading. I find it dark myself. Downlights Only Slightly brighter (8 downlights installed) than the covelights but not to my expectation. My kitchen light is brighter than this. All Lights On If I'm only watching TV, I'll either switch the covelights on, or none at all.
