Swee looking kitchen draft.... And may ur mum enjoy the new look for the house...

I think that the progressive payment... 10% upon confirmation( sign up with the company),40% when work starts( id/contractor come take measurement, do markings, painting, tiling work is being carried on, etc) 40% before carpentry goes into fabrication( design finalised, etc), 10% upon completion. For the 1st 3 stages already 90% being paid. So 85% might be for the first 3 stages. ABT, i hope u have everything in black and white. But, even going to case/sct wont help much. The loopholes exist such that scruplous id/contractor can really escape. Even reporting to police will be treated as civil case n nothing much can be done. I know this is disheartening, but consumers law here is really weak.( based on what my neighbour who had been conned ).

 ur kitchen, Kim!

Sorry for the late reply... i didnt have the breakdown price on hand as the shipment i shared with my neighbour. But i paid about $650+- in sgd. U intend to get one for urself too?
-
yeay, u're back.... Initially, me too, felt overwhlemed, overloaded with informations... But in the long run, it's good to read the tblogs here... Somehow, u'll gain some knowledge... Hmm, i havent decided on one... Already went through 2nd quote review with two, and 2 more for round 1 just to have the comparison. Ahhh... The Kraus sink... i got it through amazon. That was in aug 2012. My neighbour is ordering kraus sink and i piggy ride his shipment. ( as i didnt have acc with amazon at that time). U got ur things( accessories n core appliances) already? 10k with flooring is good... But do check the tile price range they quote u... From what i read, $3/ tile range isnt that wide n most probably need to top up. Oouh, i can feel the excitement for u already...( im weird, ya..)

Wow!! Simply breathless...! Ur home exudes( is that the correct spelling? ) warmth.... Love love ur kitchen, n feature walls the most. N the bomb shelter ledge thingy.... :good:
-
Wohooo!!! Congrats!!

Gosh2...! Just when u feel that u could trust ur project in 'friend's' hand..... N 50% paid is quite alot... Big or small project, they are still project which time, money are involved. I sincerely hope that things will pick up for the better, mr n mrs Evi. Makes me scared too as mine will be doing only kitchen.. On a happier note, i love the woodsy look of the furnitures u bought. I might want to drop by the places u mentioned..
-
Mrs Loo, thanks for sharing ur purchases.... Like kim76 said, u could be our sale alert since ur workplace is very near to Landex place...

All the better to see and touch those installed ones... Bleucheeze is welcomed anytime if u want to touch n feel my yet to install sink. I agreed that some things we need to touch, feel and gauge before buying them. As with the kraus sink,It's a risk that i took and im glad i like what i bought...

Hi bleucheeze, finally got chance to read ur blog... Impressive inspirations, i should say.... Regarding the quartz countertop, would the contractor state any particular brand? How thick is the profile? 20mm,40mm? Maybe before signing any document, try to get the itsy bitsy details in the contract written down so as to avoid any dispute( like, 'never say in the contract, what... U want, need to charge extra...' or things like that). Enjoy the selection process, ya...

the guru has landed on my humble tblog... Wahaha.... Backside itchy indeed.... Hope other readers will find way to ur 'poisonous' tblog too... Hi Nexer... Ya.... One big happy Kraus Family... How's urs?
-
Haha, u know la bleucheeze.... Navigating this renotalk through HP is diff from using pc/laptop. Couldnt locate any signature( or maybe i never really explore much.. ) Will definitely visit ur tblog n leave my mark there... here to our reno journey and beautiful home. Cheers!

Bleucheeze!! Wow...! Either combo should turn out nice... I think it's kinda great to start after CNY; workers well rested and ready for new projects.. Provided not rushing to move in. Went to my neighbour's housewarming and his woody tiles reminds me of the endangered tortoise shell pattern which is nice. My living, dining n bedrooms will be sort of 'no concept' thingy... Wahaha... Not doing any feature walls... Maybe, just maybe, will do memento special effects paint on certain walls. See how... Good luck on finding 'The One' for ur reno... P/s: any tblog of urs that i can 'park' ?

Now, i am swayed into getting song-cho/welmi stainless steel tap to go with my sink. I went to the outlet to have the look at the taps/mixers. They dont look fanciful, but sturdy.hmmmm Should i, or shouldnt i? Hubby not keen lunging things from neighbouring country, so having hard time convincing him the merits. But still, got time to think it over... Havent sign any dotted lines yet( come again, now the lines come in stright lines, right? )

The only thing i have gotten for my kitchen is this KRAUS undermount sink... I went 'WOW' when i first saw it in kim76's tblog. Frankly, i had never went gaga over the sink till i set my eyes on this. After poisoning my guy( the poison took long to get the effect, wahaha) i got the KRAUS 23" square undermount sink. Tadaaa.... Comes with the accessories: Like the finishing, and its rounded corner for easy cleaning.

Seems i have forgotten to share what i want( more like wants than needs, although these two run closely together to me). 1. I have always wanted to have quartz as my countertop eversince i read the raves about it from Lieblingsg blogs. When i read the comparison chart, i am 'convinced' that quartz is for me. Granite has been suggested to me by family members, friends and some IDs i met but, somehow, it didnt gel that well with me. I like the fact that quartz is almost maintainence free and need no repolishing after few years down the road. Correct me if im wrong, though. Dream quartz: Silestone. 2. While a full BLUM kitchen is out of my budget( even splurging on kitchen has to have some limits for me )i'd like to have the soft closing system for my kitchen cabinets. Not those cheapo run off the mill kind which my workplace is using and now the doors are banging loudly while closing if the hand slipped.

Purplestar.... Thanks for visiting my blog. As the title goes, am taking the leisurely 'walk' towards renoland. There are a few of us CCians on tblog; the one i cn remember is carrotcakegirl's: petite house for petite family, or somewhere along that line. Hope to ser urs too.. P/s/ i remember the other CCian, keysmaker. But forgot the tblog title.

But somehow, after flipping few mags, scouring the webbie, im inclined towards woody looks for my kitchen. Hope eventually it wont turn up to be too blah....
