  1. Wow...that's a lot of lights! Can't wait to see those lights fitted up too.
  2. Nice. Looks like reno progressing well.
  3. OK, Diva79 . Pictures of tile samples and carpentry laminate... The boys' toilet tiles for which I was outvoted 3 to 1. No fish tile sample, though... Kitchen tiles The brown kitchen floor is supposed to go well with our light brown kitchen laminate. See the little rectangle box? That's the size of the sample you normally get in a catalogue which does not do justice to the whole laminate 'cos you can't see the entire wood grain pattern. The "more masculine" kitchen wall tiles The tumbled marble effect of our master bathroom toilet tiles
  4. Wow. A chandelier and chandelier babies (?), donut basin (??)! Sound interesting. Can't wait to see pictures of them...curious... Perhaps you can PM me the number of the second hand goods dealer? I was thinking of getting the numbers from the ST classifieds. Don't think I'll get as good a deal as yours though. Yours look really solid. Thanks.
  5. Hi, Diva79, can't really see your where your WM is, but from the picture, it seems like the stove is not directly facing the fridge. The fridge is slightly off, isn't it? I'm also having a L-shape kitchen configuration with my stove on the same side. Just went to the contractor's laminate showroom this morning. It was very worthwhile 'cos I realised, in time to change, that laminate I chose didn't have as nice wood grain as its neighbour in the catalogue. As the laminate showroom has A4 size laminate samples (as compared to the tiny inch wide samples in the catalogue), you can get a better picture of how the laminate looks. After choosing, you can also bring back the A4 size sample you chose and see the effect against your tiles, etc. I highly recommend a trip to the laminate showroom for those choosing woodgrain laminates. Now, my contractor and I can be at ease with my choice. Ding xin le! The showroom sales person also helped me shortlist and finally choose a matching 1.5mm ABS trimming for my chosen laminate. Apparantly, a way to choose ABS trimming is to put the ABS trimming on its side (vertical) instead of on its back (horizontal). This way, you can see whether the colour of ABS trimming matches more easily as you will not be distracted by the patterns.
  6. Looks like the reno. is progressing well and smoothly. I'm keeping my marble floor too.
  7. Lovely kitchen design...yah, a lot of magazines nowadays showcase either no top cabinets or short wall cabinets instead of fitted cabinets all the way to the ceiling. Makes the kitchen look more spacious. But, I still chose the latter 'cos too lazy to dust the top of the cabinets. Prefer low maintenance. Heheh.
  8. Pictures of your assembly effort? Heheh.
  9. 8 plus not early, lah ... How's the assembly going on?
  10. Heheh. I'm sticking with 21 year old HDB gate!
  11. Thanks, autumnzy! I'll be keeping some and selling some. Hope I can get a good price, too. If not, have to PAY someone to cart them away.
  12. Thanks and same to you, autumnzy, lynzi and wanderz! No worries, autumnzy... if not for that bad experience, I probably won't either (don't know mah!).
  13. Was looking at 4 rm and 5 rm actually 'cos didn't want to spend too much. But, the asking prices of the 4 and 5 rooms were very expensive at my intended town - Serangoon - abt $300k ...So in the end, we bought the EM, more value for money. Was very fortunate to get it at that time 'cos the valuation has gone up. Autumnzy, think your reno cost is quite cheap. I'm doing kitchen and 3 toilets for $21k+. But, I think I'm going to hit $30k after adding sanitary and kitchen items, air-con, electricals, lights and moving costs. To think my budget was $20k. Heheh, be understanding towards that poor aunty, lah! In Dec/Jan, my upstairs neighbour hacked without informing us. Only 1 day. My younger son freaked out (21 mths) and cried and cried Heart pain! Had to quickly make the children finish their lunch and take the children out. Was a little cross then because I could have made prior arrangements to go out had I known. So, I'm going to be careful and give my reno. permit with a little note to the neighbours around - upstairs, downstairs and two sides.
  14. Hey, did you managed to get a good price for your old furniture? Think my seller's leaving some of the same type for me, too.
  15. Hahah. Lucky you, lynzi, you have an extra pair of eyes in Wanderz to keep watch on the contractor! !! So fun to have reno side by side...can go and kapo.
  16. Well, at least you get to choose the nice tiles you like. Hope they do a good job. !!
  17. Wow! So cool...have you read clockwork's blog? She's done quite a lot of murals at her place too. Dunno whether the viney-thingy you have in mind is similar to hers.
  18. Erh...you mean the EM or the air-con? EM-$370k, aircon-$1559 (still considering).
  19. Haiz, don't be discouraged. You still have a long road ahead and a lovely companion to share the journey. Need to think of her and your parents. Every difficulty is just a passing phase. You'll grow and be stronger...and someday, you'll look back at the memories and smile.
  20. Oooh. Yah, lots of air-con people are surprised we want LG. Maybe I should think again.
  21. Heheh. It's okay...its all part of the creative reno process. I've changed my designs countless times, too... need to be practical What's important is that you like the Final design and the Final design is practical.
