  1. Vacuum cleaner?? Actually, pretty clueless myself. Sorry. Hirox, have you considered ready made curtains? They are much cheaper if you already have curtain tracks from the previous owner. I am thinking of getting ready made ones from either Spotlight or this Pasar Malam store holder (AMK shop). PM me if you are interested.
  2. No details of how at the T-blog; the original source, if I remember correctly, was the New Paper. Thanks for the link... it was very informative. Think I better take a picture of my gate to confirm the right lock with the shopkeeper.
  3. Quite an interesting idea...to change the keyhole so that you carry fewer keys... Your lock is not too ex. Can consider...where did you get it from? At Odie's reno T-blog, someone reported a burglar broke into a flat with a $200 lock ...
  4. Yah,...they get a brand new set of covering this week and will look quite spiffy again! Think the last time they look so spiffy was 21 years ago.
  5. Thanks, HSH21...think you got my gist...I was wondering how you squeezed in a ceiling fan and a ceiling light unless they are combined in one item. Seems like a lot of forumers opting for Mit Starmex...supposed to be quiet and easy to clean ('cos can open more parts). Starmex is supposed to be more energy saving than Panasonic. But, the new Panasonic is supposed to come with some new fangled ion system. Actually, the most energy saving non-inverter is the LG, but a lot of forumers appear to have problems with the brand, so I am still pondering about it.
  6. Thanks, storeberry...can't wait to see the final effect too!
  7. All hacked by Friday... See the orange lower parts of the wall? HDB used clay soil to tile in the bygone days...before we got imported sand.... Learnt a few things over the weekend... 1. Need to resize the images from the camera or else you'll be waiting for HOURS and HOURS for the images to upload 2. We all knew we had to pay for disposal of waste...it's in the quotation...but did you know that disposal for different waste - hacked cement and tiles, rubbish, disposed wood - have different prices? Cannot suka suka throw your rubbish into the container for hacked cement and tiles 'cos the truck will have to go to 2 places - the dump for cement and tiles and the rubbish dump - so the disposal price is different. I didn't know...happily disposed the sellers' rubbish into the container for hacked cement and tiles thinking that the container was already paid for and got the workers in a little trouble... Getting the town council in next week to dispose the furniture...cannot suka suka anyhow throw. Next step: Repair the walls and restore the walls to plumb (90 degrees) and TILING!
  8. Are these lights from the ex-owner as well? We got similar looking kitchen lights, except that the covering is white.
  9. Nice handle and lock...How much did you pay for the Yale door handles I was thinking of just changing my keyhole... How much did you get the Duro lock for?
  10. Your master bedroom fan blades look translucent...is it 'cos the photo was taken when the fan was turned on? Think your bathroom black and white flowery tiles are nice...and the black pipes appear smaller 'cos of the colour...didn't think it mattered before...interesting... Congrats...looks like your reno. is finishing
  11. Cannot see some of the pictures...but your dining lights are nice...6 bulbs, right?
  12. Wow... 5 ceiling fans + Mit Starmex system 3....your flat must be really, really very cool! :sport-smiley-003: How did you manage? Thought the rooms and kitchen are not very big...Did you get those with lights?
  13. what's that? Is it a new playground for the ants or are the ants drowning??
  14. How are your fishes? Have the eggs hatched yet?
  15. How exciting to see the tiles and headboard up, to see the plans being realised...
  16. I'm glad you've got it all worked out, applefreak. Good luck on finding a contractor and hope you have a smooth and happy reno.!
  17. Nice. What are their widths? Maybe I can get for mine too. But the distance between my door and the wall is very small, maybe about 31 cm. Oh, in another thread...probably the same one, someone said that the shoes should point upwards or horizontal but not downwards...another fengshui thingy...dunno whether you believe or not.
  18. Sand the glossy tiles ..then, are your tiles still glossy?
  19. I know kiddy palace sells the LED type...but dunno whether these are too small for your use. Was wondering if the heat from the stove may shatter the glass, esp. since you are doing mainly asian cooking which requires high heat? IMHO, think its' safer to put the stove against the wall . How about moving the stove to the wall and doing a bar counter/ table at the end. L shape instead of a T. Am thinking that an island hood is quite ex. compared to a normal one.
  20. Thanks, MaCe. Congrats, kenmura!!
  21. Thanks! Looks like yours is done swee swee already.
  22. so bad? perhaps you got it at a very good price then... Looks like I'll probably move in earlier despite just getting my keys only on Sunday. BTW, what's your verdict on the rubbish chute?
