  1. Erm...but I think the bottom cabinet will hold more weight like utensils, electric appliances and there are activities going on like cooking and chopping. Ben, probably you can enlighten us with your personal experience of your new home.
  2. Just curious...I always like the under light for kitchen's bottom cabinets but how do you change the light bulbs when they blow? Must you lie on the floor and change them? And with such lighting, your cabinet has to be wall mounted so can the cabinet hold the weight of your things, in term of durability?
  3. erm...can we be the ambassadors of DIYs in RenoTalk? HAhahaha....
  4. OMG...this is freaky...from home renovation to instant mee, unbelievable!
  5. Dunno...have to see if my bosses are planning any celebration. We believe in creating nice things but we are not design immortals that every piece of work is being featured.
  6. It's a packaging design for a science development organisation in Singapore...erm I think it is not appropriate for me to post picture of commercial works, sorry...
  7. Thanks for reminding me that work is such a chore...I am brain dead for a few days, everyday just bringing my mouse for a stroll on the screen. I do have something happy to share, just got a news that my design work will be featured in Museum of Modern Art (New York)... !!
  8. I think it is better to buy more as you need to grip the end and pull to the back before you staple. Most fabrics will have length but width should be limited, so check the size.
  9. HAHA....that is a wake up joke for the morning.
  10. Hi... You have a very posh looking home....
  11. Hi Ben, thanks for the compliment. Well...I think you should not reject your own creativity, just do whatever you feel is right. Art and design is always subjective. So far the things that I have done for my home do not requires alot of creativity, I just get all the available materials off shelves and put them together. Everyone will have the kind of energy as I do as long the person is not stuck with their usual routine life and get started with some thing new. Ben, try it out! You will enjoy the process....cheers A4 should be quite cheap but I am not sure if they print A4 canvases....but I think canvases should be big then look good. If you print them small, might as well use photo frame. The Alphabet blocks that I have is printed from a photo that I took using a 10MP Digital SLR Camera. My boss did his using a 4MP digital camera, the image is kind of pixelated when printed but the canvas looks perfect from a distance. Rollerblind very adventurous leh...not sure about that. You can try asking! Sure got people having such service....
  12. 2mp is very limited, do not think can blow up until very big. Probably A4 or slightly bigger... The matt and gloss finish for canvas are totally different from the normal photo papers, the canvas has fabric texture. You have to prepare the picture in the size that you want to print, including the side of the frame that you will wrapped.
  13. For canvas printing, you can go to the digital printers at bras basah complex but I think there is a very cheap printer who do banner printing but I have not use him before...the company is called "Botak", do not ask me why that kind of name coz I also dunno. I think it is at Eunos or Hougang area...you have to try yellow pages, I do not have the contact. Things that you must look out for are: 1) The quality of the picture in term of size and resolution 2) Will you be printing on matt or gloss canvas material 3) Size of canvas and picture cropping. 4) Some printers may not help or may charge you for preparing the artwork for printing. It is best that you have someone to help you to prepare the artwork and send to printer. The canvas that I have in my bedroom (the alphabet blocks) is about 1m x 1m and it will cost me about $150 if I have to pay. My printer is good but his price is high. Do not know yet...when we have new ideas then we do loh. Mostly print out our personal photography works or buy fabrics to frame loh. Wah...like that meh, steal? :S I am considering to design my own lifestyle products to sell...so developing concepts right now.
  14. Mostly photography and fabrics...still trying to come out more stuffs!
  15. I think someone copied your home in Apartment Therapy! I help you post bad comments, can? haha
  16. Poor thing...complicated identity! Not encouraging you to steal but pick up should be ok...hehe I do pick up old furnitures and planning do my own upholstery. Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V huh?
  17. They are so big....your place have space for it? Or are you staying in the hollow center?Hehe... It is an industry product, so I think you have to take a trip to those outskirt industry park to hunt for one...but buying and transporting maybe difficult.
  18. I am part of the 1980's monkey clan!
  19. I am not sure what is defination of "normal" but I think it is not advisable to construct such structure with staple gun, nails or screws will be a better option. You seem to be getting adventurious huh! Hanging your babies on the tree as decoration? Do not really get what you mean by the description, probably you can show me some sample pictures then I can advise you better? I cannot imagine myself doing that on the train...eyes will be on me!
  20. Haha...need a rocking chair while you do knitting? Actually I wanna try knitting but I think it is kind of extreme sport for a guy...I think I am better with sewing bears and other soft toys...hehe:) Haha...I will try that the next time. Now my bosses are crazy with canvas frames too, we are having alot of canvases in office and the whole place looks more like an art gallery than office but it is cool. Hi Selenal, Thanks for the compliments...I am thinking to do more when I have nice pictures. Been brainstorming designs and digging my stack of photographs to enlarge. Will post more pictures in the future...hehe
  21. You can go to a hardware shop or art & craft shop to buy one and the price range is between $12-$20+. I am using a staple gun borrowed from office that costed about $40+ that can also tack thin craft wood together. AIM CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FIRE!
  22. Oops, sensative issue! Never thought she is old but just never expect her to have kids who are old enough to have spelling in school unless school is getting tougher for kids. Really envy the young parents, I want to have my kids while I am young too so that the age gap is closer and we will have more time and energy to interact with them.
  23. Hmmm...you sounded like a young mummy!
  24. The staple gun that I am using can load bigger and thicker kind of staple bullet...it will hold better when you tack heavier objects together. DIY is trial and error most of the time but do plan before you start or else there maybe material wastage. I will try to take some pictures when I do the next canvas...out hands are busy with the prints and frames and there is no one around to help us take picture.
