  1. Welcome back Renotm!! PM sent Yes.. All these while i have been targetting Yishun resale as i find the location(those near to mrt) very good and price(valuation)is within my range loh.. Been viewing YIshun area for about 10 houses but COV is ridicularly high like crazy even for those houses which are not even 80% nicely done up!! About a week later, i noticed that my current house is advertised and i got it immediately after viewing the house. The house was not in very fantastic condition but i do feels good while inside the house. My first viewing in Pasir ris area and i got it. Yuan Fen bah i guess..
  2. 299 consider expensive as these are their latest range of high gross laminate expedite items. If you are looking at those which are of those normal surface you can get the same item as mine at less than 200!
  3. Bought this today during lunch time without even knowing where to place this in the new house yet .. The latest product from IKEA with high gross finishing. Guess i must be crazy.. La La La La.. Wanted to get a red one but dun think will match into my ideal theme, so just got a white one instead. Got it at sin $299

U r right on the contractor who had quoted me 30% lesser and not just only from the one who renotm have recommended, there is actually another who have the "abt there" quotation who i found in renotalk too.. I cant say all the items which i wana do will definitely be 100% perfect as i understand perfectly that individual company will have their strong and weakness in a whole reno process. For eg, Contractor A maybe better in their wet work and weaker in carpenty and as for Contractor B, their carpenty work is the best yet very poor in wiring and etc.. In conclusion, there is no perfection in reno world lah.. haha
  8. Thanks for your advice and i will remembered these and i know where you are coming from. I am those who will ask alot especially on items to be carried out and their pricing too. That is why some contractors are very scare of me as i compared too much.. Oops..
  9. Haha.. That is what i will be doing for that area and i will be placing a full height / length mirror in dining hall(formerly the place as store room). I will be levelling up that place and with laminate flooring too.
  10. Hm... How should i start off with my T Blog? OK.. some uncle story to share and i believes some bloggers here should have already knew the history as i did mentioned in their blogs actually.. Pardon me(uncle) for being so lousuo. My story goes like this... I planned and starts reading / browsing through renotalk and propertyguru since one year before i reaches 35yo. Deciding on areas, unit sizes, whether if within my affordable range and etc.. With the up, high and keep raising valuation plus COV, i told myself that i can only get a 4s resale either at yishun(which i always thought that i will definitely be buying there). One month before 35yo, i contacted agents from Yishun area and starts viewing houses over there but i targetted those which are near to Yishun MRT and the story goes on till one fine day (one week before 35yo), i realised taht Pasir Ris do have 4s model afterall and happened to saw one 4s unit put up on sales!! I quickly contacted the agent for house viewing and was very happy with this house after viewing.. The house is in its very original condition but inside there, stays a very friendly and happy family. I told myself that this will be the house which i will most probably be getting. I showed interests for this unit and told the agent that i cant signed untill one weeks time. Also, i learnt that there is only 1.5 blocks of 4s model HDB in the entire Pasir Ris area. (Hopefully this info is correct loh). I nego on the COV abit and managed to do so as a return, i must allows the owner to continue staying there for another two months for free.. YES.. for free!! Think i very long winded and to cut short ... (bear with me ok? first time writing blogs mah.. Haha) I signed on the OTP immediately one day after i hitted 35yo. (Hahaha.. this time round i will not mentioned any dates so that no one else can guess my age lah) and went through all process. I do not have any agent representing me so.. i got to liaise and do every proper process with the seller and HDB too. After OTPed.. Same as most ppl here, I started to jalan jalan places like EXPO, Jalan Besar, Geylang, Balestier and etc for lightings, laminate flooring, accessaries and whatever i needed for my house reno. Hmm.. think i have yet to mentioned that i am a single.. Wahahaha.. Officially taken over the house on 21st Feb 2012 and will be taking on earliest physically by 30th April 2012. My reno journey will officially starts on this day.. Meanwhile, i will need to do more shopping and to find out more on reno stuffs from you ppl here.. Please support and help out this uncle.. Thanks ah !! Will share with you all on the items which i already have purchased in my next updates. Good nitzz.
  11. I have not been to my house yet during day time so not very sure if the room will be dark anot.. Also, i will be painting the whle house in white and no other colors.. Hope this will helps.
  12. I cant do that leh.. My is a corridor unit lah and two more units will be walking pass mine every time loh.. Think Pasir Ris eye drops will be out of stocks everyday if i were to walk around "naked" ..
  13. Haha and oops.. I will be relocating the store room to inbetween bedroom 2 and 3. I intend to hack off the entire store room and to convert it to a dining hall. This will makes my living room looks bigger and kitchen will appears more brighter i guess. I will share more ideas soon..

  15. Thanks for his good impression towards me and I really did wanted to comsider him as well but my situation is same as renotm.. Quote provided was 30% higher.. which makes me hold back as on now loh.. 30% more leh.. BTW, i am stil in dicision making period so, as of now, everyone still stands a chance.. Haha.. I compared alot of prices as i have been through alot of quotations as like what you had did previously.. After minusing off my laminate flooring package, LED downlights and more, cooker hood and stove, plus many other kitchen and toilets necessaries.. Really cant spare much on reno.
  16. No lah.. Not so kua zhang like 70K lah .. Mine just a 4s but i think is still high as i see so many ppl are paying so much lesser than me. Furthermore, their houses are newer, bigger, nicer and not so far as comapred to mine.. Will post some history and condition of the house to9 !!

Problem with me is that i dun talked alot and always like to keep my sentense to super short which always creating an image that i am very unfriendly thats all.. Hi May_Dream1, I know reno is not about quotes and quotes but.. I had told you before, i dun have much cash left for reno since after my COV paid.. So, both quotes and workmanship will weighs equally for my final decision. If all the contractors who i have met can clicked(really, i can clicked with all of them) since i designed the whole ideas and concepts of the house by my own.. All contractors will have their stronger and weaker in certain areas during the entire reno process(As we knows that no contractor can be 100% good in everything).. I guess this is where i will need to take a risk loh..
  22. Haha.. I will try to control lah. My character is like that.. "Firmed" on my stand and view and straight forward. Currently narrowed down to last two contractors and maybe will wana have one last quote before confirmation..
