  1. Hi I have bought quite a number of nice and scenic postcards and posters recently of various sizes. To frame them all up with probably cost a bomb. I would appreciate any ideas or advice you could give on what I can do. A friend had suggested buy the DIY white frames from IKEA. Is this the best solution? Any other way I could display them on my walls? Thanks!
  2. Hi Been hit by a spate of bad luck recently. Everything went badly - stress at work, disharmony at home, healthy lousy, and no luck with 4D etc. What is the one thing I can do using Fengshui to improve things all round? Thanks for any kind advice!
  3. Hi I stay in a Penthouse and the upper level is an open roof garden. My masterbedroom is on the lower level and above it is an open maintenance area. As I have run out of space in my garden, I used the maintenance area to store 4 "big rocks" and a big pot of Frangipani plant. The big rocks are in quotes because they are not real rocks. They look real but are mainly for ornamental purposes. They are made of hard plastic and are hollow. I have not been good both health-wise for a while. I recently realised that the rocks were placed directly above my bed in the masterbedroom! Is this bad? Could this have been the cause of my bad health? I ask this question because in Fengshui, I was told it is no good to have a beam on the ceiling which is above where you sleep or work. Thanks a lot for any advice!
  4. Thanks to all of you for your comments. Ivy1981 - I also feel that way too, which is why I posted this here to seek advice. Since I placed my "Fu" outside my door, I have not been having much good luck. I think I better take it back into my house again. Thanks for your timely advice again.
  5. Hi I am displaying a fragrant wood carving of the Chinese character "Fu" on the exterior part of my house door, which faces the door of my neighbour. I am wondering by doing so, will the "Fu" benefit my neighbour, since the "Fu" is facing him all the time - he sees it the moment he step out of his house, or will the "Fu" benefit me, since it is on my door (but I only see it when I come home). I would appreciate it very much if you could help advise me on this. Thank you.
  6. Hi I was "robbed" recently by two men who came to clear my choked toilet. I lost $260. The two "robbers" came into my house after I stupidly called a classified ad telephone to let them know where I stay (in a condo). They went into the toilet, switched on my two taps (bathtub and sink), took a cursory glance at my bathtub drainage hole (it was dark - you cannot see beyond 8 inches), and told me all my drainage holes are going to be choked. They told me to get out of the toilet saying that the water from my choked toilet bowl will splash onto me. They closed the door, took out a long rod with a ribbed cylindrical rubber head, pushed hard into the toilet bowl, and I could hear the water clearing immediately. The two "robbers" then clowned around in the toilet by turning on my two taps and splashing water all over the wall and floor. They didn't realise that I could see everything they did through the translucent glass part of the door. After ten minutes, they opened the door and said they had cleared all my choked and "about-to-be-choked" pipes. They then "robbed" me of cash $260 with no receipt so that I would not be able to proof later that I was robbed of $260. What choice did I have? I was alone at home, and any resistance to pay would/could probably have been met with violence. To prevent such future "robbery", I am now looking to equip myself with the proper tools to clear any chokage on my own. I have tried the normal plunger, plunger with a piston to push air, and also an auger (10-foot long flexible rod with a head and a twisting handle) - all to no avail before I decided to make the fateful call to the classified telephone number that led to my robbery. I am looking for professional equipment. Would appreciate your kind advice and assistance on this. Thank you. (btw, if you are interested in knowing the telephone number that I had called, you can pm me)
  7. Oh, I see. I didn't get the Buddha from a temple. I actually bought it from a nursery in Thomson Road when I was looking for plants. Could I just break it into smaller pieces and throw it away? Thanks.
  8. Thank you for all your advice. I have thrown away the birds but the buddha is still with me. I got a friend who said I should bring the buddha to a temple or to a big tree and leave the buddha at the side of the tree. I am very uncertain. Sigh. How to resolve this?
  9. Hi Would appreciate your kind advice. My java-rock Buddha was damaged by a flower pot that dropped onto it. The hands were broken off. Also, my pair of love birds and love ducks (one of the ducks fell and broke, the other still ok) were also damaged. I don't think they could be repaired. Can I just throw them away as I have been told that keeping any broken or damaged things at home is no good for fengshui. Is it disrespectful to just throw the Buddha statue (no prayers done, just an ornament bought from a nursery) into the bin? Should I throw both ducks away or keep the good one (will it be lonely)? Sorry if my questions sound looney but I just want to do the right thing. Thank you for your advice!
  10. I went to Winly Paints at Lavender Road. They don't have Hickson Decor.
  11. Hi Would appreciate if you could help me. Been looking high and low but couldn't find this in the retail shops. Thanks.
  12. Hi I would like to engage professionals to polish up my very dull marble floor (hardly two years old). Called up a local company which quotes $1.70 psf. They will grind the marble, then come back in 7 days to do the waterproofing and polishing. I was assured that my marble would be brand new after the whole treatment. I am not so sure though and would like to seek your advice and views, especially if you have had your marble floor ground and polished before. Thank you so much.
  13. Don't really understand you. But I am the new boss. So what must I do?
  14. Hi People say one should roll a pineapple into a new house when opening the door for the first time. What about moving into a new office in the same organisation? Is there anything I should do or not do? Also, the 7th month is coming. People say one shouldn't move house in the 7th month (why?). What about moving office then? Does the practice applies too? Any advice and comment welcome!
  15. Is there any such camera that is suitable for outdoor (in a garden exposed to rain and shine) use? Thanks for any recommendation!
  16. Thanks for all your advice. My neighbour trimmed his bamboo a bit but there's still a lot! I spoke to him recently, saying his bamboo leaves were flying into my house. Is it too much of me to tell him how much to trim?
  17. My neighbour's bamboo plant has grown too tall and thick and wild. The leaves keep falling onto the floor and a lot have gone over to my side. What should I do? Should I talk to him nicely to do something? I learnt that he considered the bamboo plant to be good Fengshui and that's the reason why he has not trimmed it at all. His Fengshui Master had told him to let the bamboo grow tall, the taller the better. Any comments or advice? Thanks.
  18. I bought the pig and put it in the South-east corner of my house. The next day, I was offered a new post in my organisation, essentially a promotion. I cannot believe it! Thanks a zillion to my fat pig!
  19. Thanks MaCe. Do you know in fengshui what is the purpose of displaying a pig in the house?
  20. Hi I went to Chinatown Point today and saw a nice fat PIG figurine selling for more than a $1K. It looks very cute and I would like to get it for my living room display cabinet. What do you think? Any comments? Much obliged and many thanks!
  21. Would appreciate it very much if someone could help intro a company that can do the job. Thanks!
  22. Hi Sometime ago, I heard that it is not good Fengshui to keep fighting fish in the house. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!
  23. Hi I want to build a polycarbonate shelter (10 mm thick) to cover my balcony trellis and keep out the rain. It is about 6 feet wide by 24 feet long. I stay on the 12th floor. One well-known company ("HxxxxxCxxxxxxx) came to my place 2 times, first to look-see and measure, and the second time to sign the contract. However, after I gave my cheque, the salesman decided that it was too dangerous a job for his workers who, according to him, were mostly in their 50s and not that fit. Can anyone recommend me a company that specialises in this and CAN do the job? I want to do up the shelter quickly. Thank you very very much!
  24. Hi Should I use 6 mm or 10 mm polycarbonate to put on top of my balcony trellis? I was told 6 mm is enough. What are the pros and cons and how should I decide? Thank you! (10 mm is more expensive but cost is no object. I just want to get the right thing, not necessarily the cheapest or most expensive one)
  25. Thanks very much for all your kind advice!
