i actually reduce alot on carpentry already. Only do casement door wardrobe for my room and my mum's room. Done a study table, tv console and tall cabinet for the entertainment room. Really regretted doing so many customization. Should have buy everything from Ikea instead other than kitchen. At least next time anything spoil, no need to hack away and patch up. Just remove n buy new ones... haha

I engaged my frend's dad. He was quite good. As a frend of he's daughter, he also helped me to see my bazi for free and give advise for current year where to put saving bank etc. Quite accurate in telling the character. For housing wise, he also provides realistic recommendation. I recommended to another frend of mine and she's rather happy with he's service as well. She initially found it quite ex to just look for date of ROM. But in the end, she got more than wat she have paid for. She will also engage he's service for her new house when she get her keys. I think re-wiring is about this time only. 8 days would have been too long. They only remove wires and redo and perhaps change some fo the location. mine was quite fast as well.

Laminated flooring is already up. This is my living room flooring This is my bedroom flooring Seeing the near completion of my house, i start to feel relief. There again, my mum says that to pay $34k for kitchen, bathrooms and carprentry is too ex. No plastering of wall, no hacking of living and bedroom floor tiles. Price excludes window, aircon and living/bedroom floor. U guys think its ex?

That girl must be Rachel. Actually she's quite knowledgeable and provides earnest reply in my opinion. I guess you just have to ask her questions bah. I was served by her actually. But i waited quite a long while cos' they have many customers. I think some of these customers are also their long time customers looking at the way they talk.

Went to Design Light @ Jalan Besar Plaza yesterday for lightings. Its recommended by a frend whose cousin is running the store. Staffs are rather knowledgeable and friendly. Wanted to buy LED lights in the 1st place. Found cheapest at Save One. In the end, i opted Panasonic Eco-light instead. 19W = 100W. Moreover, its easier to maintain since only need to change light bulb. Also cost is cheaper @ $28. (Was given discount to $25). If needed, i can choose to use a lower wattage bulb. So reckon its still cost saving and energy saving in this way. Bought 12 of this Originally wanted to buy this birdcage light for my room. But decided against it since only 3 bulbs which may not b bright enough. I chose a bigger birdcage with crystals below. Didn 't manage to take photo the other day. Will do it once its up.

Found that the tiles are not well-cut. Contractor said this is becos' its ceramic tiles. Sigh...seems like can't do much things with it already. Dear all, if you want nicely cut tiles, dun use ceramic. Opt for Homogeneous instead. But of cos' kitchen wall which normally has a glossy surface are usually ceramic tiles.

Talking about aircon installation, called up Wellux when i saw this. The box up is not done very well. Teo from Wellux came and found other mistake. He said this is a minor one, only rubber insulation not properly hidden. Just need to use silicon to cover up. But he found water piping done outside the wall which is not approved by HDB. So he will ask them down to re-do. Also piping at my mum's room should be done just above the skirting, but it was put way too high. He's also unsatisfied and will also get them to re-do. Think he'll come down and do the monitoring himself. Not bad service afterall. But i'll do the judgement only when everything is done.

Had mentioned that i wanna share the view @ my front. This was wat make our eyes pasted with stamp. It was unblock and we had a clear view of the lake. However, far ahead we can see 3 chimneys from Jurong Island as well...Fengshui master said not very good for our eyes. Reckon that the good view will not last long. The land beside the stadium maybe sold to Pvt Developer one day to build condo n block all the views....

I was also quoted $280 by Operation renewal. I guess that should be reasonable bah.

ya...this one i agree totally. Sometimes when we buy house, our eyes are pasted with stamps. After buying, then i start noticing uneven walls, toilets full of pipes etc. Sigh...moreover, paid a high COV for a original condition house n now have to pay high again for the renovation. I didn't do plastering of walls as well...thinking just let it be bah....my mum keep asking me if i'm sure i wanna stay there forever...haha...i also dunno leh. I guess its an experience well learned. This moving house has definitely given me alot of white hairs...arghhhh...

Yar, but u dun need to put a pair. normally they need to put only 1 on each side of the door. So its still cheaper than Ikea.

I also heard that Blum soft closing is equally cheap. Also just a few dollars. In fact, what i heard is that its cheaper than Ikea. Ikea is $9.

Some tiles not properly laid. Had crack. Tiler said he cut it accidentally, but can be covered and unseen. Was hesistating whether to tell my contractor or not since its at the top. But reckon that better to say than to regret. haha...so it will be changed. Anyway, he says that he's rather disappointed with the wall tiles this time cos' is quite uneven which makes the tiling ugly. Boycott Hafary. Aircon piping also done. They will come down another round next week to put up the unit. Not bad for Wellux. That would be their 4th time coming down. Door is also here. But still raw. Need to paint over. Was surprise, thought it would have come in veneer finish itself. Dunno that painting is needed.

Alex came and do up the window yesterday. Found that the grilles at the living room and front bedroom was removed. Worst, it was sold away by he's worker. No way to retrieve it liao. Alex wanted to do for me free. But i guess its no good that people lose $$. So i propose for him to do power coated for me and i pay for half the price lor. Fair deal right? Also withold half the price of the grilles. Alex was ok with it. Good service. I recommend him strongly. Price of he's window is also fair.
