  1. Hi May_dream1, Thanks for helping me to reply. I haven't really been checking RT lately Hi Nisa, The laminate doors were done by our contractor as stated by May_dream1 (we have the same contractor). I did not opt for HDB's internal doors. Cheers!
  2. Hi, the display stairs/shelf can be bought at Oddjects Parco Millenia Walk or Orchard Central. It costs around $120+. Can't remember the actual price. Cheers!
  3. Ya, I think it is more worth it as I get to choose the color scheme and dimensions. I was charged $240 per foot. Now I can store so many things inside.. lol
  4. Ya, in the end decided to settle for a simple tv console with ample space to hide wires and other stuff. And yes, the colors in the LR turn out to be well matched with each other.
  5. Hi Pinkwhale, Yes, the space is a little tight. So we usually will use the outer stoves to do our cooking. As long as its not vigorous cooking (like those zu chao kind), elbow will not keep banging into the cabinet.
  6. living room with our LG 42" LED SMART TV and 5.1 HTS from Sony. The best part about the TV console is that it is spacious enough to hide lots of stuff in it, although it looks normal from the outside. our slim made in Japan Panasonic refrigerator. It is stainless steel with a tinge of rose color. modular cutlery tray from Daiso. Managed to find a set to fit the dimensions of our cutlery drawer. Our knives from Scanpan were bought at a good discount during Xmas sale. Our forks, spoons and butter knives were bought while we were on holiday in NZ. The handles are rounded so it is comfortable to grip them. and my favourite fittings.
  7. That's not too far away. 2km is still within walkable distance.. haha
  8. Hi West, Thanks for dropping by. Since you can see my flat, means I can see you too right? So that means you stay nearby!
  9. Our completed kitchen with EF hob, EF hood and Rinnai oven. For those households with big kitchens, must appreciate ok! The sink area with a drying tray from IKEA. We found the tray very useful after using it for the past week.
  10. Hi ahlipz, Ya, the lightbulb gives the toilet a nice touch. Waiting for more of your updates!
  11. Hi battle, Thanks. The birdnest effect came out better than expected. It was a bit of a luck that we found this birdnest light. Sometimes, luck plays a part in the selection of items.
  12. We decided to get day curtains for the living room as the orientation of the unit was N-S facing, so there would not be any sunlight shining into the house. After searching through RT forums and the numerous T-blogs, we decided to get our curtains and blinds from the very nice people from 11 November Curtains Debbie and Jo brought the fabrics to our house so that we could do a matching with the color of the wall or color of the furniture. they also took time to run through the available fabrics to assist us with the matching. That helped to shorten our decision making on the color of the curtains and blinds. Day curtains that matched our tv console wall. PH5 wrapped in plastic to prevent dust and dirt on it. For the common room, we decided on dim-out blinds with some orange color patterns to match the wall. I couldn't really capture the patterns on the blinds so maybe will try again some other time. For the MBR, we selected black-out blinds. The timing of our storage bedframe from Aafrenz was just nice, as it arrived after the installation of the blinds. I would say that 11 November's service is good and friendly. Their installers were also careful and efficient. The installation took at most 30mins and the amount of dirt generated was minimal.
  13. Yes, it's a full leather sofa. The delivery man told us that if we bought such a sofa elsewhere, it would have cost $2k - $3k. However, since I went all the way to HTL (Hwa Tat Lee) warehouse in Gul Circle, the price was much more affordable.
  14. Finally, everything is up and running. Some photos of our completed reno. MBR toilet vanity top, glass shelves and frosted glass door. The chosen laminate against the color of the tiles went rather well, thankfully. Else I will be lamenting the clashing contrast for years to come. Common toilet items, which was inspired by none other than fellow RT blogger Jumpstreet. The mirror and light are from Singapore's most popular DIY company (hint: Colors of yellow and blue). "birdnest" light and our laminated doors. In our search for the right sofa (i.e: once we seat on it, we love it!), we visited Courts, OM, Star Living, Harvey Norman and even neighbourhood shops. However, we could not find one that we both liked. That was until we went to the far west end of Singapore and paid a visit to HTL. Tada!!!
  15. I realised that my camera is in my new house while I am still at my old place. Haha.. so no new photos for the time being until I shift over and set up the internet in my house.
