I thought it was brick walls, till I saw you posted it was wallpaper, I was shocked. It looks so real, like 3D pop out feature walls.

It is very difficult to find a contractor/ID during this period, especially before CNY as everyone is rushing to hand over existing projects or on holiday, they will not entertain new projects or enquiries. I am on hold of my renovation queries. Didn't want to waste time to contact any, and those who can entertain me may not be the good ones left or just the sales persons.

I have asked about the bi-fold and PD doors if they are good. My contractor told me that as long you need to slide the doors, the material won't last long. Unlike push-in/out normal/glass doors, if malfunction, you only need to change two hinges which will cost lesser in future.

They should change all the tiles in the living room, rather than telling you that there is slight uneveness. That's not your problem for causing that, isn't it? My parents' house has many hollow tiles and the tiles pop up after 10 years. If you are not staying the flat for long, I think you shouldn't ask them to redo, but it all depends when the tiles will pop up.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Actually I have been staying in Serangoon North since I was born. We got the flat near my parents and also I'm used to staying that area. We are so looking forward to moving in our new home, but sourcing for the right contractor to do the renovation is not easy too.

Hi. We have also purchased Serangoon North Ave 1 resale flat, and your house floor plan is exactly the same as ours. We were very headache about how to renovate our house without using ID, but to only engage a contractor. We intend to renovate next year, after Chinese New Year. We have similiar ideas as yours, but was not sure if it is workable until we saw your house layout, we are sure the ideas will work out perfectly well for our house.
