  1. Does the larder unit comes together with the carpentry, or bought separately?
  2. Nice wallpaper. At one look I thought it's mosaics.
  3. If not, hack away the wall tiles, make smooth the wall, and paint. Looks nicer too.
  4. Looks good. You are not hacking/changing the existing kitchen wall tiles?
  5. Nyatoh doors is also called classic doors?
  6. That means you have another false ceiling below the original false ceiling?
  7. Hahaha, the gal is too attractive, I can't avoid her. Looks like she is more attractive than the crystal lights.
  8. Sometimes contractors do miss out some things to quote, but if the contractor is ethical enough, he normally do it FOC. What's so difficult to fix a rainshower and cost $50, while installing other items?
  9. I suggest you take a package, rather than ala-carte renovation. It seems like you are doing a lot of ala-carte. You should focus on the main work that you want for your renovation such as flooring, walls, ceilings, lightings. Don't need to do the study first if budget is constraint. Ikea is always open for you, if you need a study table and shelves.
  10. You are not afraid after painting epoxy paint on kitchen floor tiles, the floor tiles will become slippery?
  11. Haha, hi neighbour! I'm staying Serangoon North too. The two compressor system is for TS, not for my house. I know our old gen flats cannot install two compressors outside our houses.
  12. I also don't think it is necessary to install aircon in the living room. If really need in future, then install another system specifically for the living room.
  13. Get a few more quotations and compare first before you decide. Most of the time there are hidden costs you won't know till you start renovation.
  14. Ahhh.. that's what ny parents told me too. Nowadays, gas delivery man is fast. You call them, they come immediately, but if gas runs out during night, use the portable induction hob. They also told me to buy a portable one in case run out of gas
  15. Our first item bought before renovation was also bed
  16. I am still considering between induction and glass hob. Firstly, I don't want to waste the shelf space to put the gas tank. Maybe in future may consider a built-in oven to build under the hob. Secondly, I also don't want to spend too much money on a hob (believing induction cost more than glass hob) as we don't cook at home, most of the time eat outside.
  17. If maintain the lighting points, and to only change the switches or relocate your point, the price is between $75-90 per point. It depends how many points you want to relocate, then you times (X) the number of points.
  18. Maybe it's common to install CCTV in new estate flats, but if install in old estate flats, the elder neighbours may not like and may feel offended. Not sure about other houses' corridor layout, my house corridor layout is door to door with my neighbour, and in between us is a lift. I open my door, I will see my neighbour's door. If I install and point my CCTV at his/her house, people may feel that I am spying them.
  19. I have found a contractor already. I set my budget 30k, and I am able to meet below or just nice 30k. My renovation has delayed to next month.
  20. Above prices you self-budget, or quote from contractor? I think the electrical and painting are under-budget. If you are doing rewiring the whole house, price range might be between $1,500-$2,500. The cheapest I got, father's friend, $1,800 for rewiring. If you want to do overlay tiles, definitely the price is cheaper.
  21. If you need contact, maybe I can ask from my father. No confirm, but I will try to ask first, because they do only landed properties, don't like to handle HDB projects. I am outsourcing my aircon to my father's friend/contractor. He quoted me Mitsubishi inverter system 3 at $2.8k. How many BTU, I didn't ask (or I don't know the importance until now), but I make sure that the rubber used must be the good ones from Armaflex.
