  1. May: Hmm.. I have not thought of laying the tiles horizontally or vertically, but both has its advantage. I think I'm fine with both, but horizontal may look more classy and "look" bigger. My toilets are very cramp, maybe horizontal tiles might be better for my toilets
  2. Hi battle. Thank you for visiting, and thank you for your best wishes.
  3. Albert, do you have a T-blog? If don't have, you should start a T-blog. We need knowledgeable people like you to guide newbies, including myself, so we can learn more from you. You should also update the good deals you got, for example your kitchen. I believe many readers and bloggers are interested where you got the contacts from, and how much you spent for your kitchen alone. Since you have such great deals, sharing some information with us is not asking too much from you right?
  4. May: Oh ya. Thanks for reminding me. I missed that part. Mine is 30x60
  5. May: Sometimes I cannot visualise images using verbal conversation, so I drew these and MMS to my contractor: Looks crappy though. Haha...
  6. Somehow I still feel that the living room is still very empty. Are you engaging ID? Maybe can ask ID's opinion on how to fully utilise the living hall's space?
  7. Who knows one day the ladies wear mosaics and walk round? Promote their pretty mosaics
  8. Valerie: Can't confirm with you now if Kevin will visit the site everyday, but I think he may go to the site daily or at least once a day since it is the beginning stage of the renovation. He will also need to be there when the workers start laying tiles. He needs to let the workers know how to lay the tile patterns that we want. We also requested Kevin to send us the daily progress as by the time we reach home, the house will be pitch dark. Heee... We will go up and see tonight. Hope my S2 phone can take good photos May: You are right. Opening ceremony, how to miss out the starred character - that is our ID/contractor. We are really very excited, can't wait to off work ASAP to check the house. Haha..
  9. albertchng: one word for your house... "eeeeyeeewwwwww" Why you want to buy this house? I won't even want to step in without wearing PCK yellow boots. And beware of bed bugs. There are always many bed bugs in bangalah's house. It is a nightmare if you find bed bugs at home.
  10. Hubby cannot wait to see the renovation progress, so he went back home during lunch time to take a look. These are the pictures he has taken. Seems like demolition work is done pretty fast. The foreman/supervisor told hubby that while they were hacking the tiles, they found out that several tiles were popping out. It was lucky that we decided to hack everything, and re-lay new tiles. I can't imagine what will happen if we move in and tiles start popping like popcorn. The sub-contractors will also be tearing down the cornices and false ceiling today. Our electrician will be coming in tomorrow to remove all the electrical wires. We are doing rewiring for the house.
  11. Maybe the sink might not be shiny anymore, but this is not rusty
  12. Oh! This I realised too. Marketing strategy. Hafary sales ladies are as pretty as their tiles and mosaics?
  13. Mosaics are pretty. I was tempted when visited Hafary. Our kitchen floor tiles was chosen from Hafary, because Tagures don't have the color we want. I think I saw there is a mosaic piece (stick with many mosaics together), cost about $10-12, width about 10". I think the tilers can cut this type of mosaic into half, then you can save a bit of cost, and get mosaic feature wall?
  14. DAY FIVE The permit for renovation is pasted outside our house. I am still thinking if I should prepare some goodies for my neighbours because of the renovation disturbance Demolition work starts! While both of us are back to work today (after "resting" for two days), Kevin made the effort to go to our house early today with his sub-contractors, and taken this photo to show me that the work has started. We feel more relieved to have him there on the first day so that he can pass his instructions to his workers.
  15. Wow, I like the cosy feeling. d2wntan, you have matched the colors well. The warm lights, dark tone furnitures, gave the warm feeling of a home. I will always look forward to going home and staying home everyday
  16. I like the dining set when I saw it in Furniture Mall, but we can't afford.
  17. Hahaha... sorry. Just saying only.
  18. Hi d2wntan. Thank you for visiting our T-blog. Yes! We are all set to go - CHARGEEEEEEE... chiong ah!!! My contractor just messaged me that they have started doing demolition work. I see if I can return home early to take some photos while there is still sunlight.
  19. Hi Takeyu. Thank you for visiting, and thank you for your best wishes. We will update the renovation process and post pictures as and when pictures are available.
  20. I also prefer undermount sink, but we somehow bought the wrong type of sink. Should get the sharp edge sink to undermount, but we bought the round edge sink. Our contractor pre warn us that we can see the silicon at sides, compare with sharp edge, the silicon is less obvious by 2mm
  21. Erm... You sure it is the house condition, and not "it" scare your dog?
  22. I know which person you are referring to. Hahaha... Quartz surface top is
  23. Valerie: Thank you for your wishes. We both are also excited about it. In future we will not want to try to dismantle built-in furnitures anymore, especially built-in furnitures like ours, too many things to dismantle. Luckily we didn't commit to dismantle the kitchen cabinets made of concrete.
  24. Never mind lah, NeoBy. If the sink spoil, you can find a good excuse to change a new cabinet top again. Hahaha... My hubby was telling me about your worry for undermount sink, then I told him if the sink spoil, I can change a new cabinet top again.
