  1. Same here. "Safest" design of all the other designs. Haha... No1 looks not bad mah, got 3D effects leh, if you look carefully.
  2. The cement walls and flooring look great! I don't mind to leave the raw cement untouched.
  3. You guys should look at this product http://list.gmarket.com.sg/item/DEHUB-ALL-OF-BATHROOMWARE-COLLECTION/404359204?sellerview=on
  4. Why don't you call the outlet to check if you can change the bed size to queen? If you have not made full payment or commit on the delivery date, normally they will not do the bedframe until you gave your confirmation date to deliver.
  5. I prefer blue color. So 1st design is okay. But the top 3rd mosaics looks unique
  6. Time to change a new handphone
  7. It is better to take bus than to take SMRT trains. This morning, I missed 3 rounds of trains. I managed to squeeze in 3rd train, but the cabin was so stuffy and squeezy, no aircon, and got 2 people vomitted on train because they could not take the stuffiness in the train. I skipped that train and waited for the 4th train. The 4th train was as bad as the previous 3 trains, but at least got aircon.
  8. DAY NINETEEN We were surprised to see no work was done today, except the bulky items were removed from the house. The buffer machine was in the storeroom, pending to buffer the stone walls. We were expecting to see partial plastering work done today. After work, Hubby rushed home to see the progress, but only saw our electrician and my father on site, both discussing how to run the electrical wires. We are kinda worried if the electrician can come in to work on this Wednesday, or to delay 1-2 days later to do the electrical works as we also need to wait for the plastering work to complete and dry. We were informed that the workers would rush to complete the plastering work tomorrow. Hopefully the standard of quality work would not drop We need to check in tomorrow to see how the situation goes, otherwise we have to call electrician to postpone another day or two to start his work. Not sure if we need to pay extra money on Public Holiday (Good Friday) or Sunday if the electrician needs to work on a PH/Sunday to complete the installation
  9. Nice window curtains you have got. Where did you purchase?
  10. He never clean his house. So many ants running around.
  11. Yes, marketing strategy. If change to a $1, consumers may not buy, but if indicate $0.99 on price tag, consumers will buy. Funny concept. But.....It is still very expensive.....
  12. We went to Ikea yesterday. The coffee table is quite huge, don't think can fit in our living room, but this is a good coffee table. Quite solid and advantage is many compartments.
  13. We thought of getting the cheapest one, but we can't bear to part $3xx from our pocket.
  14. Humidifier is to replace the dry air that absorbs moisture from surroundings. Humidifer breaks up water into fine mist that protects your skin from the dehydrating effects of air-conditioned environment. It also provide better air quality, and preserve your body hydration level for your well-being. It acts like "moisturizer" to your skin
  15. I thought how come I have never read your blog before, until I saw the blue toilet wall tiles, then I remember about this blog. You have not been updating for very long, I almost forgot. Good to see your renovation is progressing smoothly, except some hiccup purchases, but neverthelessness, keep it up!
  16. EVERYDAY IS SUNDAY SHOPPING Today, we went to Ikea to purchase the kitchen and bathroom accessories. On top of that, we also took note of the study tables and book shelves that we want to purchase at later stage. Some of the items that we have purchased in Ikea: ORE Shower curtain rod x 2, and Eggegrund Shower curtain (white)x 2 (One of Common, One for MBR toilet) Grundtal Drying rack, to be wall-mounted above the rubbish chute We went to Courts Megastore after Ikea shopping. Initially wanted to purchase a smaller TV to place in MBR, but we can't find a suitable drawer to fit in our MBR, so we didn't purchase the TV. We saw Corelle cutlery on 20% sale, but we didn't buy. Nice Corelle cutlery designs (21-22 pieces) cost around $180-$230. We found the last set of Corelle cutlery (18 pieces),which cost $99, but we didn't buy. We wanted to use the free $200 Taka voucher to purchase the utensils and cutlery from Taka, so that we can save more money. We didn't go home empty-handed too. We bought Osim UMist Baby from the Osim booth. I wanted to buy a humidifier long long time ago, but couldn't find a cheap and small humidifier. I also don't want to spend $100-200 to buy this kind of machine. And finally, we found this; something we could afford. Osim UMist usual price is $88, now selling at $68, with 1 year warranty. Osim UMist is very small and light, and the water tank can last up to 6hours. When the water dries up, the machine will shut down automatically. You can put a drop of essential oil to make the water vapour smell nicer. Buy one now if you don't have a humidifier at home!
  17. END OF DAY EIGHTEEN Today, we gave our confirmation on kitchen cabinet design, laminate, and paint colors. Kitchen cabinet laminate. The body will be white, and the doors will be this laminate color. The drawing is not revised yet, so please visualise that the one door will become two drawers beside the four short drawers. Can't wait to see the final product There is a slight change to the MBR built-in wardrobe design too. We requested to remove the small shelves and replaced them for a long pole as I need a longer pole to hang my clothes. This is before: This is after: And we have chosen this laminate for the wardrobe. Will be doing full door laminate; no glass or mirror.
  18. Dear readers, we have received a number of private messages about the electrician. However, we apologise we cannot provide the contact to you as the electrician is currently doing many projects, so he cannot take on additional M&E works. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
  19. Good morning all! It looks like everyone is as excited as me, especially on weekends, it is our SUNDAY SHOPPING! Hi paladin, we didn't engage Kevin's electrician to do the electrical rewiring or the LAN cables. We outsourced the electrical works to another electrician, who gave us better quote for electrical works. So far, we have only paid $800 to him for purchase of materials. We were afraid he might not have enough money to pay for the materials because we were really asking for many electrical points, but he said it was okay for now, if he really needs more money for the materials, then we top up. We will pay him for his labour after completion. At first we were not sure if he really knows how to terminate LAN cables into faceplate connectors, but he said he knew how to do it, so we let him do it. Or else, we are okay to use wireless too. Hi revox. (Latest update): Initially we need to top up additional cost if we want to change bottom cabinets to drawers. Hubby managed to negotiate to change the one door to two drawers. Our contractor didn't charge us for this request. We can say he is quite flexible of our small request. Hi Valerie, we can't wait to see the tile effects too. Now it's all covered up, we can only see after Monday. Hopefully the beige tiles will not be too dull. Don't rush yourself on choosing the tiles. If the outlet has limited tiles, then you won't take too much time to choose too. Pick those tiles which are within your quoted price, then you will know the number of tiles you can choose is very limited, unless you don't mind to top up the difference for the tiles that you like. There is no pipe beside the fridge, but there are two pipes beside the sink. The pipes will be boxed up. It will be better for you if you box up the pipes because your fridge is beside the pipe. So if anything happens to the pipe, it won't damage your fridge.
  20. We also wanted this digital lock, but it's expensive right?
  21. DAY EIGHTEEN Our schedules for today are: 1) To finalize the kitchen cabinet design, laminates for kitchen cabinet and wardrobe, and the paint colors. 2) Meet our electrician (may or may not). My father will be there to handle this personally, so we may just leave this task to him. And this layout was designed by Hubby. Electrical works will start next Wednesday, 4 Apr, but not to worry, Hubby will be on leave that day to supervise the electrician; at same time receiving goods from Hoe Kee and Courts. Looks like we may need to add more sockets in case not enough to use. We will also lay Cat6 cables to faciliate the fiber Internet. Opennet is coming to do the installation on 23 April, and Singtel will be coming on 28 Apr, Saturday, to turn on the Internet for us. We did less coordination work because Singtel helped us to coordinate to book the installation date with Opennet. The previous owner did not install Opennet when they are giving free instalment, now we have to pay $220 for the installation. The good thing is that we need not direct to Opennet because we engaged Singtel to help us do the coordination work, so the $220 will be paid to Singtel via our Internet bill. Another good thing is that we need not come out $220 upfront and we got 30 days credit to delay making payment to Singtel via our bill. And... we got FREEEEEEE 6 months subscription from Singtel! This balance out our cost! We pay Opennet, but we don't need to pay 6 months subscription fees. This cover the cost for Opennet installation. 3) We will be visiting Ikea later to get our shower curtains and rods, and also to see the tables and shelves. We will go back Ikea later to purchase the study tables and shelves when the renovation completes.
  22. I like this design, but if remove the color wall, your kithchen will look brighter and more classy. The color wall doesn't really look good on the overall, and if you can change to a white or glass dining set, it will make your kitchen look spacious.
  23. Hi XTR. Thank you for visiting our blog. Hope you enjoy!
