True as what you said. Does full wood door has closing mechanism with tic tac sound? Meaning that the door will fully tac to lock the wardrobe?

Hi Lyn. Everytime I go to the house, I will stay in the toilet for awhile to look at the pipings. From one view, the color looks okay. From another view, the pipes are too contrasting; looks like a colorful toilet - gives us more "mood" to stay in toilet Anyways, we bought a tin of white glossy paint today. I ask Hubby to paint the common toilet first, see if it's okay before we proceed to paint white for the MBR. Don't worry about the color. If really don't match the colors, ask your ID for opinion first. I'm sure your ID will make you please when handover the flat to you -
Hi Lyn. I'm glad that your ID coordinates well for your renovation, and even the AC installation work. I would say that your ID is very helpful to you. Most of the ID/contractor though they say will help to coordinate, end up they call the homeowners (or their customers) to inform the AC guys to come on particular days for installation. This is kind of wasting time and frustrating when the AC guys don't listen to your request and insist on their way to install the pipes in their way, and also need to spend our time or leave to be at site to liaise with AC guys where to run the pipings. Some people like myself are first home owners. We are not in this profession, therefore won't know what to do for renovation. If we know everything, we will be working as an ID/contractor already. So happy that your renovation is coming near to the final stage. Do keep us posted of the updates.

Now your house looks so bright. Painting white for the house is a right choice. It will make your house looks more spacious. Hope you can maintain the clean look when you move in.

Before renovation, I insisted wanting to do new windows for the house because I scared the windows might be damaged by previous owner or during renovation. During renovation, I saw my windows very dirty, paint gotten on the windows, and I started to regret not changing the windows. Near to the end of renovation, chemical wash was used to clean the windows. When I see the windows again, the windows are as clean and new as before. Luckily didn't change the windows, otherwise I would have wasted $2-3k on unnecessary thing.

Hi Lyn. Your renovation is very fast. Within one-two weeks so many things are completed. Your ID is very efficient. I think both of us should be moving in about the same time.

The built-in oven and hood are installed. The hob is not ready yet. I bet they want to do together when putting up the solid worktop. That's all for tonight. -

See how bright the study room is now. I like the wall colors. Got "earth feel" This is how the MBR light looks like. With wooden frame design, gives the room a cosy feeling. Can't on the light yet as the switch is not fixed yet. And... TADA! MBR wardrobe is up and ready! Sorry if the picture is too dark for viewing. No light at the moment. Looks small, but no choice! MBR is too small... Lastly, the laminate for the kitchen cabinet is completed! I like the design of the drawers - with white strips. Looks like kitchen cabinet doors need some handle bars to make the kitchen cabinet looks nicer and make it got "ang moh" kitchen feel. Otherwise the whole design of this cabinet looks a bit flat and boring. Don't you think so? And the open concept dish rack, comes with dish rack tray. I feel the dish rack, it's solid. However, I found a serious dent on the dish rack tray. Gonna inform contractor about this. -

END OF DAY THIRTY-SEVEN Finally, we see hope in the darkness The lights are up and running. 80% of the electrical work is completed, except the MBR, kitchen, and toilets lights are not up yet. The kitchen cabinet power sockets are not ready yet, hopefully the electrician can complete his work by tomorrow. We have planned for a long schedule tomorrow as we are still finding a suitable TV console to suit our liking. Last Wednesday afternoon, I went to Lorenzo showroom to find something that I can accept for an exchange. In the end, I couldnt find something that I like. Either the length of the TV console is too short (about 1.8mtr long), or too dark to suit our living room color, so I asked for refund. And guess what? The refund process will take 3-4 weeks! O M G! I thought refund transaction can be very fast, but Lorenzo accounts needs to take 3-4 weeks to process the refund. They talked about writing a report (why I want to get my refund, why they cant deliver the item that I ordered initially, etc etc), liaise with the bank, then refund the money to me. What the… We suspect the TV console that we ordered is not because of the reason of defect, so they reject the shipment. The possible reason is because the TV console model is about 5-6years ago model, so they want to stop the production of this TV console, hence they came up with a terrific excuse to make us choose something else, so they need not do this TV console for us. After that, we went to Furniture Mall on that very day evening. We walked to Lorenzo showroom and saw that the piece of TV console we ordered was no longer there for display. Luckily we decided to get back our refund, otherwise, who knows they will varnish the old TV console and deliver to us?! If we cannot find a suitable TV console, we guess no choice; really need to find a carpenter to custom-made a TV console for us. This is how our living room lightings look like. It requires three light tubes and come with a remote control to on/off one, two or all lightings. So fun to play with. Our contractor has highlighted to us about the living room light placement. He said for design and practical use, the lightings should place in vertical line, instead of horizontal line. True enough, I tested the living room lightings and visualized where I would be sitting. My concern is that if the lightings are above my head or behind my head, it will cast a shadow in front of me (because of my head) when I am reading a material. And tested proven, there is a shadow in front of me. It will be more practical if place the lightings in 1 shape, instead of T shape. It was partly my fault because I have forgotten that my living room lightings are rectangular shape. I kept thinking that my living room lights were in square shape. Tomorrow I am going to ask the electrician to swop the position of the lightings in the living room. Another issue is that the electrician needs to do a small hole on the light casing to allow the wires to go in. If we swop the lighting positions, we can see the small hole from the horizontal view. Though it is just a small hole and nobody will really rise up their heads and stare at my lightings to notice the hole, but I know about this issue, hence I will keep looking at the hole now and then. Hubby said it was okay, nobody would notice. I told him: Good luck! Lizards will find their way into the hole and stay in the light box. The bedrooms lightings are okay. All should place in T shape to facilitate brightness. This is how our study room and arts room lightings look like. It comes in two light tube; no remote control. I prefer lights with two light tubes, compare with one light tube. Two light tubes can really shine the room very bright. I dont like dim rooms. -
The aircon trunking looks scary. Unless you do false ceiling, otherwise got to re-route the whole trunking.

Yes, option 3 layout optimizes the living room space to the maximum.

You close eyes, then throw the things you don't want. When parents ask where is it, you say: "Oh! I think the movers lost the items" or "I think misplaced somewhere, you search for it, maybe it's in the boxes" Slowly they forget about it

Aaaahhh... I know where your new place is! We walked past your house building when going friend's house who is staying near that area. That time I pointed to my Hubby that your building structure is unique, especially the round balcony when we walked past. You have got yourself a house with good location. -

Is your new place located in Hougang? -
Don't try that. I ever tried spraying in the kitchen drainage when I saw a cockroach crawled in. Within 1-2 minutes, small and big cockroaches crawling out, and 1-2 cockroaches were flying in the kitchen. O M G! Scare the **** outta me! In the end trouble mummy and hubby to catch the cockroaches, and me? I hid in the room.

DIY is fun. At least we gain some achievement and satisfaction from our hard work Contractor also working very hard; he is at my house now, supervising the ah neh's work while I am back in office. He helped to check and rectify ah neh's work, while calling me a couple of times just now to update me the status. Really cannot have a peace of mind to leave the ah neh to work alone, things will go haywire without our supervision. Luckily contractor is there to spend his time looking at the ah neh, otherwise I don't know will burst how many of my blood vessels when I visit the house after work. -
Looking good. So many carpentry work. More storage space. Can't wait to see the quartz feature wall

Never mind lah. We do it ourselves loh. If there is balance white paint left, we use the white paint to paint the pipes. If no more white paint, then we go and buy a small tin of white paint from our neighbourhood paint stores and paint it this weekend. Hubby said he DIY paint the pipes this weekend. -

I think they will do a small trimming using toilet tiles to do on the toilet entrance. So don't worry. Otherwise, ask them hack up that piece, and replace with the old floor tile that the previous owner gave you -

I suggest don't look at Nippon catalogue. When I compare the same color code with Dulux and Nippon, Dulux color is in different color tone, which I think is much more accurate than Nippon. Like the ones I chose for the bedrooms, Dulux color is duller and greener, and Nippon ones are brighter and in brown tone, in the end, I got a duller and green tone, which is much similiar to Dulux's. I would suggest, choose from Dulux catalogue is safer.
