Serangoon North Renovation By Defong Interior Design

Thanks Valerie. The seller mentioned that this color was the latest product. Luckily they have this color; they tried to ask me to consider the other wood colors. The other wood colors either too dark (turning black) or too yellow to match the chocolate/white living room. If really don't have this color, we may end up doing roller blind for the living room. -

This is our completed bedroom. Something is missing - our wedding photo (Paiseh to put out). It took me quite a while to do up the bed alone. Got to cut the plastic cover, pull out the plastic from the king bed (so heavy!), then put on the bedsheet set. Now my arms are breaking. Roman blind up Roman blind down. The uneven edge at the right bottom Closer look -

We bought at higher price that time. Price was at $999. The medium size box cannot enter into our house too, so the delivery guys have no choice but to take the fridge out from the box, then enter into the house. -

I wanted the big version (I like big fridge), but Hubby said since only two persons staying, no point getting a big fridge. He don't even allow me to buy two-door fridge. My mum scolded me today when she visited my house. She finds that the medium size fridge is still too big for two persons already. -

There are 3 different sizes. We took the medium size. I know the largest size has two similar models, but different product code. I noticed that when I saw the instruction manual. However, in the showroom, they display only 3 different sizes. -

This is our Arts room. We choose the roller blind design, again, looks like venetian blind, but it is a roller blind. And lastly, our MBR with roman blind. The effect was not very fantastic, probably because the material is too little as it is only a 2 window panel, plus, the seller miscalculates the measurement. Initially he promised us to do the roman blind over the ledge. When the material is here, the roman blind sits exactly on top of the window ledge. This was not what we have agreed and expected. Worst still, HDB ceiling is not straight; it is slanted, so the roman blind did not sit exactly on the window ledge - Terrible mistake they made, so we are not very pleased with the result. Anyways, what's done is done, what for make people go back and redo the blind and waste the material. Maybe it is just our luck. Overall we are quite satisfied with the blinds, except the MBR. Should not have done roman blind at all; somemore roman blind is the most expensive out of the other 3 blinds. What the.... -

Through a renotalk forumer's recommendation, we engage a local curtain maker to do our window roller/roman/timber blinds. I was expecting the sellers' workers to install the blinds; surprisingly, the 2 sellers are the installers for our window blinds. They are quick and efficient in the installation - less than an hour complete the work. Let the pictures do the "talking": We opt for timber wood blinds for our living room; wood piece and white velcro tapes. If the velcro tapes turn yellow over the time, you can always call the sellers to help you do the tapes again. If I'm not wrong, every set is $80 to change the tapes. For the study room, we opt for roller blind, but the design is unlike other normal roller blinds. We don't like the traditional roller blinds which look like the blinds from our offices. The sellers have different kinds of roller blind designs to choose from, and it's not very expensive for the top-up of various designs. The one that you see below looks like venetian blinds, but actually it is a roller blind with many layers that create a venetian blind effect. Hope you don't mind our messy study room -

Feels solid and great to sit on. The chair seat is wide too. Hubby tried rocking on the chair, no squeeky sound. So we conclude this chair is stable. -

Not yet move in. This Sunday we will be moving in. Each day we will pack something and carry to the house. So hopefully by Saturday we are ready to move in on Sunday. The feeling now is like move-in already, we already brought our laptops to the new house. The only thing is I didn't remove the mattress plastic, scared that if I do up the bed, Hubby doesn't want to leave the house and want to sleep in new house. So I shall wait until Saturday then do the bed. Haha... -

Noted, thank you for the info. Thought this kind of thing can find in normal hardware shop, didn't expect need to go this far to find it. Anyways, thank you. -

Okay, I will go Art Friend to look for the string tomorrow since my workplace is near one of the branch. It is not fish hook, but I'm not sure how to term it, so I call it "fish hook". It is a black color hook at both end of the string, and the string color is white, black, red or blue (mutiple color). The string is quite thick and flexible to pull. -
So the pokey88 is the wife, and pokey is bought from denimart? Hehe... Just joking. Nice house condition. The ex owner must have requested a lot of COV for the condition of the house?

Hi Valerie, yes the top ledge is dummy aircon trunking. Water won't leak in as there is a board behind the compressor; in the centre of the compressor and the filmsy board. Actually the dummy aircon trunking is pinned on the original wall. Only the centre of the wall is empty, but it's blocked by compressor, follow by a board, then the filmsy board. The only water leakage is the window side frame. We suspect there is small hole, that's why water leak in when rainy days, so Hubby uses black silicon to touch up the side frame. And it works, no more water leakage. -

Hi Ching. We want to use strings with fish hook to hook the top to bottom shelves in ctisscross directions so that the strings can create individual shelving and support the canvas paintings. We can't find those ruffle strings with fish hook. We went to hardware shop but they don't sell it. -

Hi Valerie, as promised: In terms of worksmanship, I think the aircon uncle can do better than this - the ledge is uneven; spoil the look. So if you want to do a ledge, ask the aircon guys to do a good job for you. My aircon uncle used aircon trunking for top and bottom, the centre is a filmsy wood board. -

Thanks May. It was Hubby's choice of color. I wanted a green chair, but he prefers white. Luckily the color combo turns out well.
