  1. Hi Kooky, please forgive me if this is annoying as I'm having some questions regarding the ONT/fiber optic thing as well. My unit was renovated already, now the problem is I have to run a network cable into the bedroom... can anyone help? sorry if this is "hijacking" your thread ... details are described here: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58264 Thanks~
  2. Not sure whether this is the appropriate place to post this question, but really appreciate any advice/suggestion on how to get it done. Here's the current setup: The Fiber Optic Terminal is installed in the hall, but I would prefer to have a wired connection from the terminal/ONT to my desktop in the master bedroom. Thus I need to find a way to run the network cable. However, the existing cable is running as shown in the picture below, and I don't know whether there is a possible way to just put the new network cable in the existing trunking and just push/pull through/along the false ceiling corners into the master bedroom. I don't think the previous renovation left any wiring for such purpose, but I do find out that: there is a telephone line inside the trunking, and if I plug either the telephone port in the hall, or the port in the master bedroom, the lines are connected--I can make calls. does this mean I can use this telephone wire as a "pulling assistance" for the wired network cable? Or do I really have to crack the ceiling in order to put the cable in? If this is the case, how much work needs to be done in order to make everything as tidy as it's now? Thank you for the advice. The pictures are taken in sequence from hall to bedroom. 1. In hall: The existing trunking (with telephone cable/power cable inside) running up to hall ceiling. Is this a false ceiling kind of thing? 2. From hall to bedroom: entering to the bedroom. 3. In bedroom: entering the bedroom. False ceiling decoration again? all the way until next picture 4. In bedroom: from ceiling running down to the existing telephone port/power ports.
  3. Hi lyefam, hope you don't mind I quote your scenario I'm in a similar case, need to have good air circulation in a small room with 2 double deck beds. Currently I'm using 2 standing fans (1 for the 2 lower decks, another taller one for higher decks.) If I install only 1 ceiling fan (maybe 44" or 48" max), would the air circulation be better than 2 standing fans? How is your setup working? Thanks pal~
  4. Thank you everyone for the help~~~ really not "man" enough on this kind of DIY staff, must learn, haha~~ I did go to a few hardware shops and it seems they don't have... shall try home & fix tonight and show the picture. yeah, maybe I'm poor on describing the item correctly, haha. Thank you~ shall update once I got it. ahah, realized one thing, I'm actually looking for one that can be locked with a key. i.e. has a really LOCK built in. do they have it? I must try it out tonight...
  5. This is the Singapore KDK page http://www.kdk.com.sg/Cfans.html maybe can look for the "similar" model to the ones that you bought?
  6. sorry if the name was wrong, it's this kind of "lock" that can lock the two panels below the kitchen cooking hobs. The current one is becoming old and rusty,I want to change to one that can be locked. May I know where can I get such one and how much will it cost? Can I install it myself? Thanks for any comments, help, etc~ oops, sorry for the bad picture quality
  7. I was told UV light is strong and "powerful" enough to kill bacteria, mould, etc, how about those small dust mite that can be found in old furniture? I really hate those insects around.Would UV light effective in killing those? UV light is not good for our skin, maybe I can just buy a bulb and use it in a lamp, turn it on in the room for a few hours? Any place to buy the normal UV light bulb and how much? would appreciate if pals who're using this could share the experience, thank you~~
  8. Thank you pal for the quick & informative reply! Does that mean whoever sitting not directly under the fan will not fell the wind? (I know for standing fan, if the fan is not blowing towards me, I cannot feel the wind at all, is it because of the small diameter of the the fan?)
  9. How about the traditional model without remote control? such as M48SG. I'm planning to get one for a room about 12 square meter, is this model sufficient enough? One of my neighbor auntie told me the switch mounted on the wall may spoil after a few years...
