  1. I like that very much ! ! ! ! I will put some tall tree on the top of it, like palm tree or pothos. Actually, some slim but tall tree. If you don't like the real one (cos of maintainance and similar), you can put some artificial. Good range of artificial you can find in some of the shops at Verge (junction of Bukit Timah Rd and Serangoon Rd), at #5 there are few shops with artificial plants, even with big ones. On the bottom shelves/steps I will put some art pieces. I found some nice at Iwannagohome ( http://www.iwannagohome.com.sg/home.html ) and Forest.sg ( http://www.forest.sg/ - look at their Facebook page as there you will find more photos). Above everything, on the ceiling, I will put some cascading lamps or chandelier.
  2. Some photo (or link) how it looks like........?
  3. Here it is - furniture shop "Space", 77 Bencoolen Street . http://www.spacefurniture.com.sg/component/virtuemart/?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1999&category_id=41
  4. I was today at Molecule (Orchard Central, #03) as saw at newspapers that they have "renovation sale up to 90%". Actually, the true is that most of the items are 25%, just few are 50 or more % off.... Anyway, saw there some sidetables with glass top and metal stand, but I cannot remember any more how they look like neither how much the cost is.... As well, some sidetables you can find at BoConcept and here is how they look like as well as the selling price http://www.boconcept.sg/occasional-tables.aspx?ID=91169 . Here you have something at Xzot http://www.xzqt.com.sg/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=118&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=131212&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=91 . Space have a big range of sidetables and all of them (5 pages!) can be seen here http://www.spacefurniture.com.sg/products/?category_id=41&page=shop.browse&limit=36&limitstart=0&option=com_virtuemart . And, at the end, few weeks ago I saw some that kind of sidetables (metal stand, glass top) at some shops in IMM, but I cannot remember any more where ......

  6. Why they should stay?? It is your property now so you suppose to use it, not they any more. It is not your problem if they sold that and do not have any other place to go, they supposed to think of that much before. Its very nice agreement for seller - he now have the money AND still enjoy the property......very clever.... And you don't have either of that. I will ask some lawyer for advice cause this is not common situation. What if that person(s) will ruin your property and you don't have any written agreement of their stay.....? How you will cover that cause you don't have any proof of their staying and you will not be able to force them to pay damage? Again, why should they stay???? They sold the house and it is not their any more......
  7. Possible - probably yes, depends of your floor plan and if you have enough space in existing bathroom. Allowed - probably not, like other forumers already said, cause of piping and waterproofing. We have a condo unit with huge master bathroom (bathtub, separate shower area, double basin, toilet) and, since already there are enough space, we wanted to add bidet and connected it to bathtub drainage canal. MA didn't allowed us to do it cause below every item in the bathroom are certificated waterproofing by developer and they (MA) cannot be sure if our contractor will do everything right. Meaning, in future possible leaking of pipes/drainage of that bidet and by that maybe damage of unit below us, owner of that unit will ask for repair MA which they cannot cover cause this will not be original work from developer. Actually, we bought the unit from first owner and enter in before final TOP, so MA (who was by developer) didn't want to allowed us to do such things cause of TOP when everything should be original by developer. In that case, since we do not use bath at all and shower is quite enough for us, we decided to take bathtub out and at this place instal bidet. That work our MA allowed, but we needed do open Insurance policy of S$ 1,000,000 (yes, one milion dollars) to cover any problems to unit below us during our renovation (like leakage, or wall/ceiling structure cracks, or whatever else).......we just opened that policy and paid one month of instalment (which 3 years ago was S$ 600) and after work was done we closed the policy. Since water pipes and drainage canal of our bidet are the same which were for previous bathtub and that area is waterproofed, there is no worry that in the future will be some leakage to unit below us. Maybe now MA will allowed us to do whatever we want during the renovation, but for now we do not need it any more. So, for any renovation of unit, the application must be approved by MA and usually they are not willing to allow any renovation like removing walls or other hard structure, and they are specially sensitive for renovation of bathrooms...... Anyway, you will need to ask your MA for work permit and give them the list of renovations, but be prepared not to expect to much of that your idea....... I think the big issue will be drainage canal of your new bathroom cause (I think) that it is going vertical thru all floors and bathrooms and possible problem will be how to connect your new toilet and other things to it.
  8. Look at this directory of furniture shops http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34535 , maybe you will find what are you looking for...... Anyway, at Dempsey Rd are lot of shops with teak furniture and most of them offer customisation.
  9. Two years ago I found one rattan-shop with all kind of boxes, baskets and so on, and everything was at really affordable prices...... It was area around Arab Street and Beach Road, and there I saw few shops like that one. I'm not sure if this shop is still there and if they have lamps.... Other place where you can maybe find your lamp is Ikea, you can check here what they have http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/categories/departments/lighting/18750/?pageNumber=0 . Saw one rattan lamp which can be what you are looking for, the cost is S$ 59 ( http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/20115552/ ), but I'm not sure if it is suitable for outdoor (cause of humidity). And another one maybe can be Lim's - here is their web-site http://www.limsdeals.com/ where you will not find many pics so better is to see here http://www.facebook.com/LimsArtsandLiving#!/LimsArtsandLiving what they can have, but is definatelly the best to go there to the shop.
  10. I agree with that! It is unbelievable what IDs these days start to charge ......I cannot imagine that they charge for their ideas, laying protection cardboard, and so on ...... Is that cos they want to pull out from customers as much money as they can (so started to charge so simple and normal things like to clean after their work) or what????? For God's sake, they are living from us ! ! ! ! And, what I have noticed as well - there are much differences in quotations if customers are asking for HDB or Condo....for Condo is muuuuuuuuch more expensive ! ! ! ! Obviously, IDs are thinking "if you can buy the Condo, then you have the money and I can flay you"....... For Expo home exhibitions many forumers already complain here at this Forum, that there customers will be faced with the most expensive quotations comparing with if they go directly to normal ID shops......maybe IDs need to cover their costs of exhibitions so found this way to do it, over customers wallet....... I know that is very convenient for customers to find many IDs at one place so Expo will be always visited, but this is not a way of honest business and people are not stupid, they will find one day cause bed talks are flying much faster than good ones...... I was only once at Expo and that was 2 years ago - my first and definately the last time. I was needed just few thing here and there, mainly carpentry, but to put some wood flooring at terrace as well, so was thinking to hire some ID to arrange it all......until I had in my hand 3 different quotations, not much differences between them, but when I realized that they all charged me for 3 (three) simple shelves (150x30 cm) like some normal carpenter for whole wardrobe - it was enough for me..... Of course, I asked one of that IDs how that price can be, and he answered that they need to order whole piece of plywood (he mentioned the size, but I cannot remember any more) and cut it to my dimensions so there are much leftovers and I should pay for whole that piece, doesn't matter how big or small shelf I want to have...... Then I asked what they are doing with that 'leftovers', and he said "nothing, they are like a waste" - oh, yeah, please, don't tell me the story, what 'waste', you will sell this to another customer and charge him as well like me and you will earn double for this one piece of plywood......I swear, he just smiled, he even didn't want to disagree with me ! ! Then I told him that he can give that his 'leftovers' to me, since I already will pay for them - but, no, he said that they cannot give me as they are not doing that way..... what can I say, that was the last time he saw me.....he and other two IDs from Expo cause their quotations where very similar so only what I can assume is that they all are working at the same way....

  12. This your "Logans Road House" is some site about some restaurant, so eating and food, not about furniture..... Maybe you can find some new address in this Furniture Directory http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34535
  13. It is not the same, but is very similar one bar stool at BoConcept http://www.boconcept.sg/default.aspx?ID=91178&imageid=5675
  14. Ok, ok,.....we are first, we are only, and so on.....it will be nice to hear (read) what other forumers think of it.... My agenda?? I have no any agenda or intention. Everything what I need to explain from my side its already explained in other topic http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47703&st=0&gopid=716156entry716156 . Cheers!
  15. I know that at John Erdos (Dempsey Road, http://www.johnerdosgallery.com/ ) you can definatelly find that cause his all furniture is hardwood (mostly teak), thay have custom-made and you can choose from 8 available colours.....but, I'm not sure that will be cheap....... Recently I have ordered 2 items (round bookshelf divider and corner unit) from one carpentry shop in Malacca. Comparing with prices which I was quoted here in few shops for that, they were almost double cheaper. I don't know if they have some other kind of wood, but mine furniture is made of malaysian rosewood - and I must say that I'm speechless for their workmanship as well as for professionalism. Every item was made exactly by my drawings, they delivered that on time and I have feeling that they are very honest people. I met them during one fair at Marriot Hotel and placed my order paying 30% in advance so I'm not sure how its going when someone order via their web-site.... As well, I'm not sure if they will be willing to deliver to you only 2 shelves or you will need to go there personally, but you can ask them..... Their website is http://www.malaccawoodwork.com/ and it is family bussines; the very pleasant lady Patricia is usually taking the orders and her husband made them. I was in contact with her thru email 'mwpatl' (the rest of the address find at their website) and you are free to mention that I recommend them to you. I'm so proud to my round bookshelf and so satisfied how they made it that I will take some pics and post it here at Forum.
  16. I found that this tray table is design of George Nelson for Herman Miller - and Herman Miller is carried in S'pore at Xtra (Park Mall)......as well, found that some items can be ordered at Xtra so maybe you can go there with this pic and ask for it....
  17. a) - it's true....just, I thought that during the night, you anyway should have all closed and aircon on cause of possible rain (which is very often lately), so any AYE traffic noise should not to bother you.... If I'm not wrong, I think that there was come complains from other residents regarding that 'speeding up' cars and that MA asked Traffic Police for cameras to be instaled in our vicinity.......but, I'm not sure if that was settled cause, like I've said, we are facing other side so the noise is not bothering us personally. b) - correct.......but, you know, half of the 315 units @ Infiniti are facing AYE, and other half to other side, so if you are not in hurry and keen to buy some unit here, then you can wait some time for that unit facing other side to be at market. Just yesterday at The Staits Times I saw 3 ads for sale of "unit quite facing", so you always have other option. c) - / d) - landed property vs condo.....I think that we all know what are pros and cons; starting from the selling price, then facilities (pool, gym, shuttle bus), and so on or privacy, garden, more sqft....anyway, everyone knows what their preferences are and what kind of property can afford.

  19. Check this thread http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40652
  20. * First of all, I do NOT "have only a few post and all your posts is about this company" cause I am the member of this Forum a little bit longer than you are and my 70++ posts until now are definately not about this company. If you knew how to check it, then you will now about that. * Second, you can guess as long as you want to, but you never will come to truth so let me help you: I am a woman, causacian (from Europe) and never worked in Singapore. * Third, I have no anything against this company at all. I didn't even start to be suspicious until I have read post of lejosef.....then I started to investigate and found this link above - which is some others experience, not mine...... It is not anything personal, and I have or had no any contact/connection with any of those 3 companies mentioned above. Not like an customer or anything else. Few forumers in some other threads indicated that something should be wrong in so many nice words about one company which I found suspicious as well......in those words are so many details that is hard to believe that they are coming from some oridinary customer.... So, I do not like to be dragged around. This Forum , like many others, is to connect people to share their experience, give some advices, help each other. It is big difference in the words "I am only sharing a good offering from Lamidoor" when they are coming customer or when from employee/owner of that company, isnt' it? If someone would like to advertise himself, go ahead.....but, be honest and say it openly ! ! Anyway, in this Forum are many threads where forumers/customers posted their offers or quotations from ID companies, and when their renovations started they posted many pics about progress and final reno. So, it would be interesting to see some proof of that from this forumer who praise this company so much..... Just to add, everyone can go to Google and found the address/contact of those 3 companies above - all of them had exactly the same phone no, address, unit no.....so, conclusion is yours....

  22. They are working now....... here are again http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40819&st=40 http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40819&st=200
  23. That is excatly what I said, my unit is facing South-West and I have no any noise from AYE.
  24. I think that I saw some of that at HomeFix @ Marina Square or SelfFix @ Vivo......
  25. Hi, I am at Infiniti, but my unit is looking at opposite direction (above the Guard House). We are here already 3 years. Usually, people are at pool at late afternoon time cos 2pm is lunch time....... Yes, its true, at swimm pool is very noisy, but you can use to it after while....but, must admit that those units facing pool are horror to live in it...the noise is not only concern, there is dust as well especially for higher floor units... But, if you are working all day, so leave home in the morning and come back in the evening, why you should have air-con 24h on?? At that side the sun is just in the morning, so there is no need to have air-con all day on..... Anyway, if your brother is keen for Infiniti cos its freehold (and, like I've heard, here can be found very cheap psf), then maybe to look some of the units facing opposite the pool.....
