Rules Of Having 2 Compressor In A House?
travelpac replied to elisayuqi's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
I assume you are talking about a HDB flat. 1) You have to check the loading of the flat to make sure that the electrical loading for your flat is already upgraded. If it isn't, then you need to apply for a permit for such additions. 2) My house doesn't have an air con ledge. Both compressors are installed outside below the windows. The placement of my compressors follows how my neighbors have put theirs. If there is a precedence, then there shouldn't be an argument on where the compressor can be installed. -
GST is on the total costs of your goods. (Including shipping fee within china).
-
Get the size and weight from the vendor or the website. Add another 10% for packing and then calculate using the shipping rates available on the shipper's website. --- It is always a risk when you order online because you are buying based on a picture. And there is no guarantee on how the packing would be. If you are worried about getting big items, then start small with lights and taps.
-
It really depends on who you order the items from. Most vendors will tell you how they pack their items. I had benches that came in crates. So just ask them how they would pack it.
-
Peeka charges you by volume. So its dependent on how big your shipment is.

These look fancy and cool. I would like to install of these. Or alternatively you can just buy a multifunction meter to install at your distrbution box. Or for an even cheaper solution, if you just want to monitor kWhr usage, why not just monitor it on the SP Powergrid kWhr meter located outside your house. You are billed on that anyway. You can also apply to submit your meter reading monthly at the same time.

Singapore is generally a really expensive city to live in. I'm not too sure what's cheaper in the UK, but you can check out Court's Singapore website to check appliance's prices.

Air Con Condensor Dripping Water Problem
travelpac replied to pingles's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Like what some poeple have suggest, put a mat on your own compressor so it will mute the dripping sound. If they don't co-operate, I would go turn off their supply. -
Worth Buying Old Hdb
travelpac replied to xanadu's topic in HDB BTO Flat, Executive and Private Condo Development Updates
I prefer open air carpark. My home has both MSCP & open air carpark. I always park at the open air carpark. I can list more pros of newer flats Pros No need to consider upgrading levy. No need to worry about electrial loading if you want to air-condition the entire house. -
Seek Comments On Air Con Quote For 3Bedroom Condo
travelpac replied to CygnusX's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Your quote is really expensive. With your configuration, I would expect to pay at most 6k. There is a local aircon installer who lists their prices online. Go google. It's way less than your quote with installation and other items thrown in. -
Don't know what does looping means. But you can link 1 switch with 2 lights. Thickness of the cable is dependent on the load. The thicker the cable, the more loads it can carry. But the thicker the cable, the more expensive your wiring costs is. So what you have listed is a general guide. If you got money you can lay all 5mmsq If you want. The main source is connected to the switch. The switch is connected to the light. And from this light to any other lights. You cover the cables in trunking or conceal it.

Do We Need Two Isolators For Two Air-Con Systems?
travelpac replied to airconlin's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
I would install a seperate isolator unit. An isolator is used to isolate a particular equipment. If you were to connect 2 condensors to 1 isolator, then the initial purpose of installing the isolator is defeated. I'm not sure if HDB says anything about this. You might find something under the electrical standards in Singapore. For purpose of maintenance or possible breakdowns, have 2 isolators. If one breaksdown, then you can switch off one, while the other continues running.
