  1. Rewind... Two months before I received my keys, I am sourcing high and low for wood flooring and getting quotation for it. Both me and wife having been working in environment with timber flooring, we knew how comfortable and good to have wood flooring and we both share the dreams to build our home with timber floor for many years. Now is the time to realize it. First we visited woods & woods to look at their engineer floor...they were over priced and out of our budget. Laminate floor is out of question as we both knew how horrible laminate flooring could be, plus its not even real wood. Then i finally found this supplier of timber floor from RT, visited the workshop a couple of times and finally narrow down to burmese teak and American white oak. Guess which one we are using?? The beginning: Was struggling between Burmese teak in 95mm and 120mm width... Both of us totally fall in love with the white oak when we visited this project site at CCK...
  2. Hi, i never appeal. I merely wrote an email to ask them to faster approve the items for hacking due to the demolition date is almost over. Then the next day all the items(walls) for hacking were approved! What happened is becos they(HDB) approved the permit for reno first but those walls to be hacking are still on pending. Before they approve the walls to be hack, i actually got worry and ask my contractor will they reject? But my contractor v calmly told me not to worry sure approve but they like to drag cos the actual duration period for them to get back and approve is normally 2 weeks. My contractor only applied for the permit slightly more than a week earlier before the actual demolition date approved.
  3. Picture take during eve of Labour Day After master bedroom toilet wall hacked away...
  4. Picture take during eve of Labour Day I mention my con resubmit for a later date for the demolition of walls again...it suppose to be schedule on 2nd May till 5th May. But like i say before, my contractor v fast hand and leg....at this time those walls were already hacked down. Efficient is the word to describe, our heart were totally eased with him handle our work. The tiny kitchen looks so much spacious after hacking away the wall and same to the toilet too! Thats how i envision it to be, real result shows. After kitchen wall hacked away...
  5. Pardon us as we do not have fancy 3D drawing, didn't expect my contractor to come out with one too. Anyway I can visualise most part of whats going to happen to our house but of cos with the help of my wife and the contractor. My contractor is good in design sense too as he not only was a contractor but actually with ID background. Somehow he prefer people to regard him as a contractor (not sure the real reason). He belongs to the old school NAFA ID generation so he is no good in computer rendering of 3D, but i knew he was one of top 5 graduates during his time. Sometime i'm not sure of the look and feel i will consult him, he understand what i want to achieve from this housing renovation. We are quite clickable. These pics were taken during eve of Labour Day. Sand were already deliver to my place....still pretty neat.
  6. Oh mind, thanks for informing me. I will check the mailbox tonite...didn't expect to receive so many mails since we are the new owners. I will sms u if we can make it on weekend to view your workmanship, hope we can make it!! Hey, how many chance can the new owner and the ex owner meet at the same reno forum..lol
  7. From master bedroom... Quite happy that this system wardrobe is given to someone and will be given a new life again. At this time, all the aircon and trunking has already been removed. Contractor did a fast and clean job.
  8. Looks familiar? Heater from the common toilet.
  9. Toilet All the pipes in the toilet will get box up soon. Kitchen wall to be tear down in future
  10. Our demolition date starts from 23-25 April, my contractor really fast hand fast leg in taking down the tiles and tearing down the unnecessary stuff. At this moment, the few walls which suppose to be hack are still on pending. I kept calling the officer from the permit dept but the call forever get engaged. Finally my contractor advise me to pen an email to him, next day early morning i check HDB site and it got approve!? But by this time is already 25th, so my contractor rearrange a later hacking date and also submit a later date for demolition permit again. Anyway, talk about my contractor he is **** good, the day they tear down anything regardless tiles or wood structures...his workers will clear the debris away in the same day. Knew what, no ciggie butt can be found in the house too. His theory is he has to make sure his place are clean and so is a respect to the homeowners. He do not allow his workers to mess up the house, his theory again is so the subcon or other workers will take his works seriously and follow instruction knowing that the main contractor is not a person to be trifle with. If they see the house they work is dirty and ciggie butts everywhere, they will not take their job seriously. Quite respect on those theory though. The aircon was take down very soon after this pic is taken...the wardrobe in the common bedroom already had torn down. Empty area on the right. Note the debris was clean up. Kitchen Kitchen clean up!! Wall will be tear down the nextime u see it.

  15. Hi pineapple, about 2.5 weeks ago Teka having 3 days sale at UE sq. Pity now no more. I used to think Teka is some cheap brand until i reach the showroom and shocked by their retail price...apparently Teka is even pricer than Brandt or Bosch on all similar products.
  16. Rewind.. Items we already bought: Brandt induction hob TI607BU1 Brandt built in steam oven FV1000X Teka built in oven HKX790, got it at a steal during Teka sale...60% off the retail price $2150 Haven't decide on chimney hood so far.

  18. Albt, what is SC/CC? Oh we will try to go over to your house over the weekend if we can make it, would be nice to see your carpenter workmanship like i thought. Are u using alot of blum system? Too costly so we may skip it. Recently got tied up with work even over the weekend and we still left with alot alot of things haven't purchase..omg
  19. Hi, yes the floor is cement screed but we will have it transform later
  20. I would consider the COV we paid is more realistic COV price in this area bah.
