tats the problem... i mean, i been to my ID's client renovated showflat, they have the so called blum system. kitchen cupboard got approx 8 drawers... each drawer, be it pull out or those casement, are NOT quiet enough. when approaching almost closed position, different level of ''bom'' noise can be heard. This is when the client have not fully moved into the flat itself. As for the other flat, which belongs to my ex colleague, she also encountered the same problem.... my point here is, what is the use of installing blum when such noise is heard? I am not saying blum is giving the problem but i suspect, it more likely to be of workmanship issue? I am shortlisting my ID / contractors now and if the ID / contractor 's workmanship is not good enough, I am not considering them for my reno...

not sure on that but what my bro did last time with a similar layout was to remove the door. remove the window frame leave the hacking...no hacking. so its a more to a 'P' shaped open area..if u can visualise....with the doors and windows removed, it certainly look bigger and allow more light through

the service yard door is similar to the one that i had in my previous 4 room. What my bro did was to remove the door and also the windows. Reason being, we installed windows and grill to the service yard so it made the service yard door redundant...

just been to see the corridor of my flat very narrow and cramped. coupled with, some studio apartments outside our units.... There are some contractors outside at the lift landing... Be careful of what u asked for... it does not matters if u take the name cards, but well, those pushy type really turns me off.

They are just a few of the ID firms that i went scouting around... ID is okie, but well, after 3 meet ups, they (not the ID but one of their colleagues) become quite pushy (i hate pple to push me to sign or pay deposit), esp when i told them i need to think and consider... We are talking about 30 to 40ks here...then they got the impression that i am on budget constraints. I told them i dont mind engaging them even if it means paying abit more, but i need to really consider carefully lst, afterall, its a reno thing that gonna stick with u for at least 5 years. Their quote is slightly cheaper but they kept on bragging about their ISO status, their 15 years of experiences, and keep on belittling other ID firms and contractors... they kept emphasising the difference between contractors and their ID firm. They mentioned that they gave good ideas on colour matching, willing to go with u to source for lightnings, furnitures, and other household wares in order to match ur theme. But the way that colleague talked, is more like a contractor. They say their design is ''suc suc'' one, ID standards... This one i would not know as i have not seen any of their renovated flats. I have already dropped them out of my shortlist as i dont like to be pushed. I am not rushing for reno yet. Anyway, the above is my own honest opinion and is in fact a real encounter by me and my gf. Do ur homework, dont rush into signing on the dotted line. Dont be pushed into such things. They offered to go up my flat to look at defects as a non obligation kind of thing. My gut feeling is that, should i do that, i be really pushed further. THANKS but no THANKS... haaaa....do really scout around.... one person's meat may be another person's poison.

I just finished discussion with 2 ID firms, Both are young IDs... one of them brought along his colleague... midway through the discussion, i was turned off by his older colleague. He is quite pushy in wanting me to place a deposit although his quote is the cheapest... dont like the way he pushes things through. We decided to drop this ID for good. When i saw this young ID with his colleague, i tot to myself, siao liao...here come the gangster... hahaha

Hi, Need your help and advise on these soft closing devices. When you installed such soft closing hinges, do the cabinet doors have noise when its approaching almost ''closed'' position? I been to a showflat. Some doors have this soft ''boom'' noise when almost close, whereas some doors are really silent? Is this a problem on workmanship? Appreciate ur advice. Thanks
