precisely..but my ID say that the backing cannot be cut already....at most she can only shift up the hood....irritaing, rite? imagine u will keep knocking onto the hood when u stand there...my hood is only 512 mm... one problem with my ID is she likes to make assumptions based on her habits...

my 30 year old 5I unit cost 50k plus to renovate...includes windows, not including aircon, or furnishings...

update, there is a big gap between my cooker hood (abt 4 - 5 cm) and the top cabinet....wonder what is that for? asked my ID and she say she will check and get back to me....

haha..my reno not finished yet.....so glass door not up... but now i have some problems installing the glass door, so might be using back the baby gate again...still waiting for the ID to get back to me...

pics update on carpentry... MBR Wardrobe - missing black mirror... BR 2 wardrobe TV Console - still missing a 1.5m long shelving Kitchen they will be finishing up the carpentry items today...left only window grilles, glass, solid surface, kitchen backsplash, main door, toilet stuff, curtains, front grille... everything should be done by the 18th july..and furniture and electrical applicances will be in on the 19th jul...

haha..that was what i did for my kitchen .....put up a glass door....used to put up a baby gate..but glass door looks so much better...

jessie when are u starting ur reno? any date? btw, i haven seen any pics of ur house yet...

virgo are your doors light? anyway, we managed to resolve at least the main door. She will remove the door, dun charge us, and we will get our own contractor to install it. she say her supplier dun have the HDB heavy duty doors...

upset..upset..about the doors... in my quotation, it was stated as " to supply and install 3 nos. of nyatoh door frame (3ft by 7ft) at 3 bedrooms" "to supply and install 3 nos. of nyatoh door (3ft by 7 ft) at 3 bedrooms "to supply and install 1 set of fire-rated (half hour) door and frame (3 ft by 7 ft) at main entrance... issue is, i find the door very light, and not as solid as my old hdb door...so asked the ID. she told me that the doors are not solid, its hollow core nyatoh door...which i was very shocked as my impression of nyatoh doors are only solid....nothing else...which is why i didnt query her on the doors in the quotation.... imagine my main door is not solid wood....very upset...

hi can someone tell me how to find out if my doors are made from nyatoh? my doors feel light, not as solid as my previous house (premium flat from HDB)....so dunno whether got kena shortchanged or not.

was told that i can start moving in the boxes on the 15th..and furniture delivery on the 19th jul.... they never really say when can handover to me lor....

nope..no false ceiling for that area..only l-box at the side....seems like there is nothing i can do about it....din really measure the height of my ceiling....

my crestar fan was put up yesterday...but it was too low for us...is this normal? can we modify the fan so the rod is shorter? a 1.7m tall person will be able to touch the blades when he stretches his hand up...

just an update...all lights have been installed yesterday....ceiling fan installed too... one problem....ceiling fan is too low...(think problem with my ceiling)...so now dunno whether wanna remove it or leave it.... a 1.7m tall person can touch the blades if he puts his hand up straight....

my brother just started his reno with U-Home yesterday....he did mentioned the ID was accomodating and nice.....

well, we eventually gave in the joint lines coz we also dun have the energy to argue over this thing. with kids being sick, and work...and reno...already driving me crazy... just hope the lines will not be too obvious... my carpentry should be up next week, if nothing goes wrong...

just to pen down some frustrations.... reno progress is slow....moving in will be delay by about 2 weeks.... was just informed tat my tv feature wall backdrop will have joint lines...coz laminates dun come in such big pieces....then why in the world did the ID tell us oni now???? she knows rite from the start we are very particular abt joint lines.on our carpentry.... told her to explore other avenues ...we cannot accept the joint lines.... whose fault is this?

hi dracula can check whether underneath your tv console, the base portion facing the floor, was it laminated? was just plain plywood? thanks!
