@mrslee07, sorry so long then reply, love the rainshower, moved in since last Friday but so far have not used to options other than rainshower, handheld and the bottom use to wash feet de.. But I think we are too tired to experiment la.. every night sleep at 2am to finish up our ikea installations, and packing away stuffs.. We are finally almost done with our renovation.. to the point that we can move in while they do small rectifications here and there.. The 1st person I would like to thank, and I'm really really very thankful to is Jerome (Zero), when my contractor suddenly asked for the hood and says must have it or not cannot make the carpentry, he managed to get it to me within like 2-3 days and was nice enough to suit my timing for delivery as well.. and the price was great as well, neighbours told me they got the same hood, went here went there to look and in the end mine was still $20 cheaper.. anyway, as we are finishing our reno, we realise that there are some items that we did not use, as we changed our ideas here and there, after buying from Taobao, I will be posting here, selling at cost + shipping price, please let me know if anybody interested.. self collect at my place opposite Sengkang Sports and Recreation Centre.. All boxes have been opened to verify what is the item inside, only 1 of the 72w light box not opened, cuz bought 2 so came in same box no need to check.. rainshower, selling at S$60 tall faucet, selling at S$20 15m of 5050 led strip, white 5 led strip drivers selling at S$260 for the whole lot, S$52 for 1 driver and 3m led strip 2 of 72w led light, 95cm by 65cm selling both at S$190, 1 at S$95 lastly, faucet, selling at S$26 please pm me if you are interested.

link for my 12w downlights from tb http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=19086206503&spm=a1z09.5.0.0.txsIX5&_u=gr9tbkh671d @takaishi, what do you mean by bottom pew pew??
-
@ l99box, no amcon do not have a website. you have to buy the items in taobao then send to amcon. if amcon buys it for you, you will have to pay 50rmb per link, but you still need to provide the url for it. @takaishi, no review of the rainshower yet as we have not moved in to try >.< but seems like the water pressure is much better than the original one that hdb gave us.. mind, i have not installed gas heater yet.. @vct, yes, all my downlights are 12w, cost me only abt SGD10 ea.. will update with the link later tonight as my office blocks tb no updates on the house as of yet.. so far only done electricals and false ceiling so nothing much to show.. will upload photos again when my 2nd batch of tb loots arrive

haha.. when i told my contractor i have a single piece de rainshower, he didn't know what to think, so he quoted me $300 for installation.. when i saw the shower only got 2 pipes to hook up, we decided to do ourselves then to let him make the $300.. this is the finished product, lights for both toilets and storeroom are up, 24w led and superbright hacking at my place has also started..
-
rainshower unwrapped.. haven't put it up yet, realized that HDB pipe too short, so need to go buy additional adapter to connect the pipes.. my personal bangla, hard at work fixing the hooks to mount the rainshower.. tml will post the tb downlights, so thin that my contractor also surprised and well packed too..

i agree with diy, will be much cheaper.. thanks for pointing out about the inbox, have cleared it, too many emails from contractors.. update: have received my 1st shipment of taobao purchases, have left it in the house (locked in the bedroom) and will go open my presents later in the evening

problem is, i wanna buy online anyway, seller already advised, for my space, i will not be able to maneuver the tub in.. so will get 150 and get my contractor to fill up the rest of the 10cm with tiles..
-
@vct, the price is for 1m, 1 roll is 100m.. Thanks guys for the mosquito net idea, will definitely call them up when my reno near completion.. @oceaneleven, can you send me the contact? Thanks Encountered another problem now is that I'm looking to buy a 160cm acrylic tub, however, my space is also 160cm, which is too zhun for me not to worry, maybe my measurement got prob and the space is slightly smaller, or the tub comes slightly bigger then how.. I have seen reviews from the seller that the tub can be grinded to fit if the difference is just a little bit but is this possible? I wanna explore fully the possibility of the 160cm tub before I go down 1 size to 150cm.. anybody can advise?? And is there any shop that can help to do this? I scare my contractor don't know.. My dad is an engineer and he says can and he has the tools but his health is not good so dun wan him to do it.. we ownself, scare spoil the tub..

as my friend's place is undergoing HIP, i have allowed him to stay at our place while the rectification works are being done.. but he paisei, so me and hubby also move in to accompany him.. during our stay there, we realized that the water pressure is pretty much non-existent, i mean like, right now, nobody has even moved in yet and already like that, then when everybody move in liao then how? was contemplating getting water storage heater or city gas and city gas representative advise that since i got 2 rainshow and 1 bathtub, i can go for http://www.citygas.com.sg/home-products/?cat=Heating model MA-10FE and MA-1210FER, anybody can advise whether it will be just as shiok on rainshower? also, there are mosquitoes staying in my house!! so irritating, scratching all night and morning hubby managed to kill it, and it was full of blood any remedies for mosquitoes, as i do not expect to on my aircon 24/7, planning to open the windows and on ceiling fan..

@bigturbo oh no.. that's too bad.. after getting some inspiration from renotalk t-blogs (thanks Nexer), I'm going to slash my 28k quote to 22k and up my tb purchases by $400, to a total of $2k now.. going to go for ikea worktop and maybe even have part of my kitchen done by ikea.. and getting my bar counter, shoe cabinet and common toilet vanity from tb instead of asking contractor to fabricate.. lastly, not do the platform and just hack the foyer area instead.. my personal goal is to complete the entire reno with furnishing by 30k excluding aircon gonna be challenging as the fridge i have my eye on cost 2.2k
-
@kensaiz got my quote from this website http://www.coolserve.com.sg/ @bigturbo yes, anchorvale horizon, hi neighbour?
-
the problem is not with the closet, if you look closely, there is an open trunking and then another finished 1 above it.. so no idea what the unfinished open trunking is for. my new place is at sengkang my quotation from contractor has come up to 27k now without electricals.. i'm thinking below 30k for the whole project.. even if we were to take out some stuff (only things we can take out is the full height shoe cabinet, the bar counter and the vanity for common toilet, will only amount to 2k+) find that might as well let him do it then to buy ourselves and fix.. shoe cabinet will definitely not be full height then..
-
just came from my new place!! yay yay yay!! so happi!! saw the compressor area and indeed can fit 2, but there is only 1 electrical socket.. shall ask my contractor liddat how?? and the most maddening part was, not only did we get the pipe running across our kitchen, we also got the pipe running from up stairs to downstairs, so we got both sets of pipes like OMG what are the hdb designers thinking!! random extra piece of trunking in the db box is actually my most serious defect in the entire house.. either we are too noob at checking or our house is great, although heard that our key delay as they had to fix the flooring in our block so maybe already fixed liao picture of our living room and our master bedroom. kitchen i absolutely love this next picture, view from living room hopefully the hockey stadium lights will not be too bad after we fix up the curtains..
-
actually, after thinking about it, we will be getting System 2+2 to split the load on the compressors. we will pair "master bedroom and bedroom 2" and "living room with bedroom 3", as recommended by our contractor. well, that's what he says la, dunno whether correct not, haha.. i have no experience on this kinda aircon matters de.. Hi Agnes, I will not be sharing my contractor's contact as of yet as we haven't even 开工 yet and I dunno his workmanship, working attitude etc... will see whether he is good or not then share his contact...
-
i was thinking, when not in use, i will either put it perpendicular to the shoe cabinet (the area might be too cramp after though) or in that alcove in the living room.. but scare that that might make it look even more like altar space as i wanted to put mirror on top of that table.. it might reduce the living room, but just a little bit only, however, i believe it will cost a few hundred to cover it up.......
-
need some opinion here.. what should i do with the uneven walls? spend $$ to even it?? afraid that the 1 in the living room will look like altar space initially only thought of make even the space behind tv console, but now look at it hor dunno should extend it all the way not..

HI~~ haha.. actually supposed to have gotten the house sooner, had 2 opportunities previously. we were allowed to move our appt to 14 feb but hubby not free.. then our actual date which was 17 feb, again hubby not free in the end, we decided to change to 22 feb, as it's a saturday, so no more excuses.. so stay tuned for our photos this sat.. and hope we dun get a scare because of the pipes.. saw some neighbours, their pipes in really weird locations, run horizontally across the kitchen.. like omg!! some are like this which i feel is the norm and totally acceptable.. but some are like this!! so imagine you do top cabinets on both sides what are they thinking!!
-
Hi shuuhs, can I have the contact for the aircon guy? Thanks Now looking at 2 sets of system 2s as contractor say will be less strain on the aircon.. Gonna have the 2 high usage areas paired with the 2 non high usage areas (ie. master with bedroom 2, living with bedroom 3).. Thanks mavicaste, will check Aron out as well!!

I'm using Amcon as I find their rates are lower. 65daigou does not have a bulk shipping price, therefore, the price is on the high side if you are going to buy taobao to furnish your entire house, I will only use them when I'm only buying a few small items and am too lazy to purchase it myself, which is rarely next to never. by weight - 1st 500g at $4.7, subsequent 500g at $1.7 either volumetric or actual, whichever is higher. hoyoyo bulk shipping price is way more expensive then Amcon, however, if I were to buy small items, I will purchase myself, send to their warehouse and they will ship for me. this is my usual go to service provider when I buy taobao. by weight - 1st kg at $6.8, subsequent 1kg at $4 might seem more expensive than 65daigou, but hoyoyo calculates strictly by weight, not volumetric. my reason for using hoyoyo is that many of the items I usually get are light in weight. by bulk - $300 per cubic meter peeka another expensive shipper, although bulk shipping cheaper than hoyoyo. their strength is fast, which you will see reflected in their pricing as well. I always give plenty of time so don't see why I should pay a premium for that. by weight - 1st 500g at $17, subsequent 500g at $3.5 by bulk - $250 per cubic meter amcon only does bulk, but at $110 per cubic meter, it's less than 1/2 the cost of peeka. all conversions from rmb to sgd is at 5rmb to 1sgd for my easy calculation.

For aircon, we are looking at this, however, damage is erm... very damaging..... Is this pricing reasonable?

Our house will have no theme, I would even go as far to say, no style as well. as quite a but of our furnishings are bought cheap or used given by relatives (don't get me wrong, I'm totally fine with that), just that, until now, I have no idea what color is the sofa that our relative have given us except for the fact that it is 2-seater and leather.. Our 1st shopping spree is on Taobao. Total damage is 1.6k excluding shipping.. And with that, I'm done with all the shopping until the 敲敲打打 part is all over..

I'm sure I have created my T-blog topic before but for some reason, I can't access that account anymore (a combi of these problems facebook/email/password). So as our key collection date gets closer (suppose to be next Monday, but I had it changed to next Saturday 22 Feb), I thought I will start another 1 again. We have already chosen our contractor, however, have not signed the contract yet as I would like to see the final quotation, but it's pretty much set. I will not talk about other contractors/IDs as: 1. some did not reply us from the get go 2. communication stopped halfway (asked for revised quotation but no reply) 3. quotations are way too ridiculous We were asking right before CNY period so 1 and 2 can understand. 3 I will attribute to the fact that they have to abide by company pricing strategies? So it is just that we got no 缘 to work with that particular ID/contractor, we got no angry stories to tell just that it is very tedious repeating ourselves again and again lah.. I will not talk about my contractor also as I dunno his workmanship etc... so will only mention him when my reno is concluded So I shall start as everybody have before me, with the floorplan. So from this, We are planning to make it into this. We do not plan to have a dining table as it's just the 2 of us and we are not the kind to use a dining table, of course, I do realize that I should have 1 for occasions, so we will be getting a telescopic retractable table, at min, it's 45cm long and we will use it as side table, put a mirror over it and put it at the foyer area. at max, it's 2m long, nice for a dinner party We constructed a foyer area with a drop as I can't imagine having shoes in the house, at least with this, it looks a little separated. Next will be the kitchen, as we are on a relatively high floor, (and me being afraid of heights) we decided that we will never use the clothes hanging area outside the utility area, either we will use the dryer or the hanging thing on the ceiling, so we blocked up the area with the washing machine and dryer, and for any space left over, bottom cabinets. Lastly we will do a pole system wardrobe to cover the air-con ledge at the masterbedroom, right in front of the window will be pole to hang clothes, so that it can be easily removed when the air-con guy needs to come for servicing. Our quote was pretty reasonable, coming at 24k without electricals. I'm expecting this reno to hit maybe 26-27k?
