Notice the lighting system in these photos. I am thinking of doing the same thing here - without false ceiling. And gotta make use of floor lamp as well, in case it's not bright enough.. If you worry abt the look on top, notice the Swedish apartment. They have minimal lights on the ceiling n use floor lamp - function n decoration in one. Or, they hide t5/t8 on top of a tall n long cabinet or bookshelf or feature wall, sth like cove light.. Btw, me breezer too. U should be from the first batch to collect key right?

Ikea staff said bc it's a design btw Blum n Ikea so it was named differently. But I was showed the back of the soft hinge, it's very compact n has Blum word @ the back. The price per pair is cheap, ikea motto "we help you save". The main problem is: ikea soft closing mechanism can only be used for Ikea products. A t-blog owner here with a country theme flat had his kitchen top n bottom done by carpenter, and used Ikea doors. Like that, he could purchased the soft closing hinge as well.

Oh, am I too late to tell you IKEA's soft closing mechanism is done by BLUM? I went to Ikea some weeks ago and talked to the staff abt their kitchen models. Found out they specially have BLUM design their soft closing thing to fit in IKEA kitchen door/ drawer. $9-10 per pair.

Systemind platform U can look at this. The platform is created using storage boxes (2ftx2ft). Easy to pack n go when u move to a new place. They have a hidden table so u can raise up to use, close down when not using.

I am currently taking care of my baby daughter (6.5 months old) full time. Hubby is very busy @ work so probably I will supervise our new flat Reno next year. How do you do it?
