my brain is a bit weird as in i tend to imagine worst case scenario to scare myself off. Ahahaha... My baby is 11 months old now, so easier to take care of her. Her schedule for activities is very obvious, so i can do certain things while she is playing or sleeping. Taking baby to the flat on reno progress is not recommended though. Cos its too dusty even for adults. My eastate called breeze, thus very breezy.. Recent, punggol got lots of storms or heavy rains, so more dusty.. Can see the dust in the Air when winds come.. Yellow, brownish colour air! Like fog. Most of ppl here have full time jobs during the day. And they still manage their renovations. I am a full time mother, with an understanding husband so until now, its my hubby's responsibility to do site visiting, and deal with tommy. I am his researcher aka secretary and MOHA plus treasury manager. I also do coordination for other matters regarding reno. Its okie until now.. We only just had one week of reno experience.

Looking @ all these spacious home makes me a bit sad. But, the idea of having a place of our own definitely cheers me up real fast. looking forward to see more of your Reno progress. You seem to have lots of to do, yet your budget is the same as mine. Weird. I don't even touch bathrooms and flooring.. Need to see my budget calculation again.

Such a smooth reno. Congratulation on your beautiful house. Happy wedding preparation!

I don't know what is the usual practice with stainless steel piping. But I didn't see the joint you mentioned with the stainless steel piping @ my current place (not punggol, my new flat). N at this house, renovation was done 8-9 years ago. The pipe should have been copper in the first place, as the so called quotation stated so. I told my husband I want to have it to change to copper Pipe now. Will see how things go. Yeah, doesn't look convincing that this is the norm to me. We are trying to get a refund. We got it for around $200 including shipping from uk. The website said abt 100% no quibbles guarantee if for certain reason, refund or exchange need to be made. Hope that it is true.

Only a short one week Reno so far, we indeed learnt a lot now. Must think positively to maintain a good health n to make wise decision for the rest of the Reno!

--- bought wallpaper online, received bad packaging that ruined the wallpaper --- Received the package, fragile item handled without care! Result: crumbled wallpaper Another lesson: no online purchase. As you can't be sure if you can contact the seller to get a refund or exchange. Bought from popartuk.com Sucked.

--- the current state --- Is the stainless steel pipe badly done? This is the biggest problem: sink n pipe @ wrong position. Need urgent reticification. I currently have "meeting contractor fatigue".

Woah, i went to the blog you recommended. Realised i have been staring at its windows many times these few months. (because of its long renovation, i wonder if it never ends) Its just right @ my current block, one level below my floor. Such a wonderful floorplan, spacious kitchen and master bedroom.

Wah, how much is ur deal for hob n hood from zero? Cheaper than the price i told you? happy shopping! -
I saw my opps neighbour installed the white KDK ceiling fan on a false ceiling. The height from floor to ceiling is still quite acceptable. The fan doesn't look as nice as haiku fan though, nothing with "wow" effect.
-
Adidaem, thanks. We have purchased a minimalist - looking LED floor lamp. For wall light, we concern the wiring trunking. but still need a ceiling light though.. Will ask contractors for opinion.
-
Thanks, calliecats. Cute nick. Totally agree with your comment. ---- thedottylines, my new flat comes with concealed wiring so we are concerned abt trunking if we add two lights besides the ceiling fan. My hubby thought of having a square false ceiling (small size) around the White KDK ceiling fan. Or just mount the ceiling fan on this false ceiling. Phillip Downlight with dimmer remote would be cool. we don't want ceiling fan with light. Hm. --- Oh, I remember May_dream mentioned the smell of food with open concept kitchen. The food smell is never our concern. Oil is a major concern. so hopefully the fuijoh food work as well as reviews said.

Ayazumi, cannot work with Tommy already. His price is actually only cheaper by max 3K compared to other contractors', lots of hidden cost, that's why we kept insisting on a very detailed quotation and contract and drawings before reno started. It's a mistake that I didn't voice out my concern when Tommy rushed my husband into applying for reno permit n hacking permit. Think abt it again, I feel worse abt this guy. My husband blamed himself for this situation. Haiz.. Hubby kept ipad today so I can't do any photo posting. Got lots of photo to share soon. From our drawings for carpentry to show contractor n carpenter to mood board for all the rooms, and current state of the flat after Tommy cleared things up on Wednesday. ---- side note ----- funny how I can't sleep tonite. Thunders and lightening made me think of a tsunami situation in Singapore. I can't swim due to drowning experience. I don't know how I will protect my baby if such disaster happens. Maybe I have to make an effort to master swimming, and buy some life vests to keep in store room. Oh well..

Hello, me the "no money still wanna do reno" here. Very interesting how I found your case so similar to mine. From how we entered the sale of balance flat (tried our luck) to budget constraint 10K reno only stretched to 20K and more.. Especially the theme: Japanese contemporary. I love your bedroom doors: can paint those white. Mine can't be painted white without looking less awlful. I have White ceramic floor tiles already so will only laminate the floor in the future, when can't stand the ceramic tiles anymore. My most expensive part of Reno could be the kitchen: hacking required, PE, make good of wall, glass panel, carpentry,.. Budget for it is already 9K. Haiz... Seems like your reno will soon complete? I suggest the sharp super steam oven for healthy food. But it's expensive, nearly 1K. Why do you want a dishwasher? Cannot opt it out to save money and electricity? Electricity cost is higher again. My guess is you dislike washing dishes. Everyone hates it. Wish you a smooth reno.
