May_dream, why is it scary to sleep on the hidden bed? The hiddenbed with work station look good for a small room, tiny space area. That's why it's attractive. But I am not too keen now as further reading abt the chemical used for the main material leads to cancer. So, unless I wanna pay for real solid wood, I would not buying it. How to choose a good laminate? I want a white kitchen. And such color is quite standard right? I saw EDL catalogue, they have more tones of white than other brands.

Pinkwhale dear, I recently visited a flat @ punggol spring and was told that the owner's kitchen has a concrete/ cement based structure. But the countertop is actually solid surface still. Look like normal kitchen you usually see around here. Only when I opened the door and reached inside to feel, i knew its concrete, not wood based. Feel very sturdy. I like the idea... My theme is not industrial although both me n husband love it, it is just not right for our home, that's all. My my, what did u pay for the upgrading? I saw at gain city, mitsubishi system 3 is 2.8K/+ , upgrading the insulation pipe cost $80.. Less than 3K in total right? But I didn't ask if there is anything else to upgrade to ensure the good performance. until now still quite blur abt it.. I am still at shock after hearing the number 3.3K. Haiz.... For study cum guest room, I haven't found one to outsource the work station with hidden bed system yet. Cos the material n chemicals involved in the production for this hidden bed is usually solid MDF and it causes cancer!! So, thinking about it while finding a better/easy to achieve solution (like getting a sofa bed n a work station seperately).

I have looked at all of you who used digital locks n wonder if it's really useful... Now I understand. One question: how abt theft? Is there any alarm system? -
Wah... This is informative. Thanks for sharing guys. Like this, does it mean we should not buy stainless steel accessories for bathrooms?
-
I also didn't really care. Cos I don't like to be pressured into buying things without many days of serious consideration. Our hard earned money leh. Should be well-spent.

U n partner have many cute ideas hoh.. Good. I hope those flyer distributor will make an effort to put them into this nice basket. Cos lots of ppl just do according to their habit. Even when they understand the sign n instructions.

30% cheaper is already a lot of money huh? Can buy me other stuff like bathroom accessories.. That's why my husband n I start to re-consider hoffen kitchen. Haahaha... For bathroom, we only want to replace the vanity top n install mirror n probably a top cabinet. Will not overlay tiles to save cost. But to replacing the vanity top also costs money... Which we need to think carefully. Will see the quote first. The new sink which we saw at heritage bathroom is around $320. Ceramic sink. Really? How was the hidden bed? Is it from hidden wall bed company? Still good after a few years? I tried lifting up n down @ expo exhibition, seem okie, heavy but okie.

Hi, you said no window facing corridor right? Means bedroom 2 has no natural light source? I like your spacious kitchen. The U shaped idea is really good.. As for price increment, I don't know leh. Sale persons said such things to me as well. Before CnY. But I asked my new neighbors, they all said it is supposed to drop as oil price is low, (i don't read news recently ah), and abundance of vessel in the regions will make goods more available than ever, transportation should be cheaper...

I like misty rose n snow field.

No shoe cabinet? You have enough counter space to prepare food at the kitchen counter or not? The space in between the hob n sink seems narrow. I think may_dream's suggestion for tv console position is not bad, ppl can always look up to see who coming to the house instead of turning their heads back. And having empty space in your living room is actually not bad. Got air flow. Got light. Got a feeling that your house is not too cramp n narrow.

:dribble: So cute!!! I LIKE!!! Who did that?

--just got my safari crashed. a long post deleted in a flash.-- Today I have a few disappointments, after meeting a contractor cum ID at my new flat: 1/ can't have my doors painted white, unless I buy new doors. As HdB provided laminated doors, which is not suitable to be painted over. 2/ can't have my tempered glass backing @ kitchen spray-painted in two colors. Self-spraying attempt is rejected, as expect. 3/ will have to tolerate the ugly grey colored vanity top at master bathroom or spend a few thousands to revamp the room. 4/ his aircon contact quoted 3.3k for mitsubishi inverter system 3, saying they provide a very good after service and blah blah blah.... Why 3.3K? Even more expensive than all the big companies.. I might as well ask Natural Cool for a quote. I just posted This question regarding solid MDF products. If you know anything abt it, please tell me. Thank you very much. I am looking for a good solution for my study cum guest room. A space saving system for work station n hidden bed. Don't recommend me the Italian products which cost 20K okie.... Hix... It is **** cool but pls, too expensive. Oh, re-visit the hoffen kitchen showroom. On the second look and careful thinking, suddenly it doesn't make sense to have fully-Blum kitchen from a company that doesn't produce BLum. They provide hannex counter top n common known brands for laminate like formica, edl, jennings. it's the same as asking your contractor for a better quality kitchen with Blum system at a lower price than $900/+++ per meter. Right? Now I am considering having my kitchen skeleton built using concrete. Was told Punggol is more humid than other ares, using concrete will make the kitchen structure stronger n long lasting. I am thinking of the chopping part, when preparing a meal. Chopping on hollow surface is not advisable so currently, in my kitchen, I gotta find a small spot at the end of the kitchen counter, to just chop things there.. **** small n narrow... If big stuff like a chicken, I don't dare to just chop on the kitchen counter (using chopping board ah), but on the floor instead.... At my parents house, I never do this, cos their kitchen is a very solid structure..

Hi all. --- written with NO purpose to defame any company mentioned below. Just a health concern question regarding the material used. --- Happy New Year. Early last Jan, I came to expo furniture exhibition and saw the study desk cum hidden bed from Hidden Wall Bed. As my new study room is very small so such a space saving product really impressed me and I wanted to have it in my house immediately. What caught me back was the term "solid MDF". Such a noob, I didn't understand what it meant then, I only knew solid wood and plywood at that time. So I googled the term. Found this: "Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure.[1] MDF is denser than plywood. It is made up of separated fibres, but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and much more dense than normal particle board." Then this: "Formaldehyde resins are commonly used to bind MDF together, and testing has consistently revealed that MDF products emit urea-formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds that pose health risks at sufficient concentrations, for at least several months after manufacture.Urea-formaldehyde is always being slowly released from the surface of MDF. When painting it is good idea to coat all sides of the finished piece in order to seal in the urea-formaldehyde. Wax and oil finishes may be used as finishes but they are less effective at sealing in the urea-formaldehyde. Whether these constant emissions of formaldehyde reach harmful levels in real-world environments is not yet fully determined. The primary concern is for the industries using formaldehyde. As far back as 1987 the U.S. EPA classified it as a "probable human carcinogen" and after more studies the WHO International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in 1995, also classified it as a "probable human carcinogen". Further information and evaluation of all known data led the IARC to reclassify formaldehyde as a "known human carcinogen" associated with nasal sinus cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer, and possibly with leukaemia in June 2004." Further readings from many links: "Extra formaldehyde may be added to the urea to make a stronger bond. The more extra formaldehyde there is, the more formaldehyde will be trapped in the wood and later emitted as a gas. MDF made with UF may emit formaldehyde gas for months or years after it is manufactured." So, with these information, i find it very difficult to convince my husband to purchase this product. Have emailed to the company to ask them directly for their opinion but ... as we expected, no reply from them. I know there is NO country so far in the world ban this solid MdF material YET . But influenced by many documents n conspiracy Hollywood movies, i doubt if the main reason could be the same as why pharmacy companies still can use third world countries as a test lab for their new medicine products. Not that I am saying SIngapore is a third world country, I really trust Our government on the safety aspect. Could anyone here with good knowledge about wood material, carpentry, etc... to Enlighten me If it is actually still SaFe to use solid MDF product? ---- Readings: Link: http://www.childrensfurniture.co.uk/mdf.html Link: http://www.ehow.com/info_8206136_health-hazards-mdf.html Link: http://www.elcosh.org/en/document/1211/d001086/medium-density-fiberboard-%2528mdf%2529-safety-for-carpenters.html . ----

My neighbor shared the same master bathroom 3d design like yours. Stock design I think.. Looking forward to see your Reno progress. For the counter top in the kitchen: if you keep the design with such pattern, I think white top is nicer.. Light up the small area. Same for vanity top.. If you worry abt scratches, choose the white color with pattern, so can camouflage the scratches easily.

So fast..... but good that u like everything.

--/ inspiration \-- I just love flowers.... I like the shape of the above bathroom vanity top. Curvy. Appropriate for tiny bathroom with narrow space to close the door. Want to install mirror cabinets n lights like above. I like this kitchen counter top curvy corner. Want it for my kitchen.
