Instant Water Heater - Alpha Smart 18Ep Rain Shower
Barry replied to Barry's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Hello, I got them at a discounted special price from a buddy's shop...Think normal retail price is $399 or $469 thereabouts. Based on researching some Malaysia electronics sites this RM498 model comes in ivory white and gun metal but only gun metal was available. The rain shower thingy is really nice, but apparently no one knows if the pump is strong enough to produce the hotel-kind of feeling, haha. Do note you need to have adequate space in the showering area / bath tub you intend to install this, since the rain shower would be about 2ft or so from the wall/tiles. Was a bit concerned about this initially but panned out to be OK... -
IvanK and Angelbutterfly, I got my Samsung 55" D7000 LED TV at SITEX on Day 1 for $3,399 nett from Audio House. The price was $3,999 but with DBS deal you get $600 off, provided you spend a minimum amount on your credit card for the next 12 months or so. Price includes delivery, wall mount and installation plus standard bundle kit with free Samsung laptop and I managed to nego for additional 2 pairs of 3D goggles. Hope this helps. BTW, C series is last year's model.

Hi Aron, I'm moving into our EM at Bukit Batok early Dec. We've decided on 3 options for air-con installation: (1) 3 units on 2nd floor, Master Bedroom and 2 other bedrooms; (2) 3 units on 2nd floor and 1 unit on 1st floor, living room; (3) 3 units on 2nd floor and 2 units on 1st floor, living room and utility room (converted to bedroom) My contractor has provided me a quote of $2,800 for Panasonic Invertor System based on Option 1. Could you advise whether this is reasonable and provide me with a quote for all the above options? Much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, I mean Samsung is better. Finish & glossy panel quite class. Let's hope SITEX has good Samsung deals

Conceptualizing some ideas for the balcony... Was @ Taik Wang looking at water features and liked this one but temporarily out of stock. Has anyone DIY these kind of sets? Any problems with maintenance? I was told the only maintenance is to put chlorine pills to prevent algae and top up water occasionally. I'm also thinking of laying some artificial grass turf but the ones I saw are quite costly, about $95-$130 (depending on the grass type) per sq m. Does anyone know of cheaper alternatives? Thanks

They are Harvey Norman vouchers. Actually I saw a side-by-side comparison of the Samsung 55" 7 series and 55LW6500, big big difference... True, waiting for SITEX may be a good option.

Hi Ivan, After checking with the HN salesman today:- (1) $3,199 - 55LW5700 (2) $3,399 - 55LW6500 You get $20 voucher for every $200 spent but it seems there is some kind of 'approval' process for this, maybe due to limited redemption. With the vouchers, it works out to be:- (1) $3,199 - 55LW5700 Vouchers - ($3,000/200)*20 - $300 So $3,199 - $300 = $2,899 (2) $3,399 - 55LW6500 Vouchers - ($3,200/200)*20 - $320 So $3,399 - $320 = $3,079 Quite good value IMO. But without the vouchers I would just wait since LG just launched the 9800 series last month and when it starts retailing I guess prices would drop even more. If you're interested, you could contact me, maybe getting 2 sets of LG 55LW6500 there could be more discount Hope this helps.

Hello, There is a comprehensive review on this model on HWZ. If this is not good enough, you can CNET Asia which has good reviews as well. You could try this link.HWZ 46" Samsung LED TV There is a current Harvey Norman roadshow at West Mall (Bukit Batok) and I believe they give out $20 vouchers for every $100/$200 spent so you could get some $400-500 off the price. I'm intending to get a 55" 3D Smart LED TV am deciding between the Samsung 7 Series ($4,299) and LG LW6500 ($3,199). Price wise, there is almost a $1000 difference, the former being more pricey probably due to the technology used. Appreciate if anyone could PM me if you comes across a better price than this in the next month as I'm moving early Dec. Thanks!

Hello Everyone, Just to share last week's experience with Eric @ Hommage. FYI, we'd already been to plenty of furniture joints and had already selected the designs we were interested in. 1. 2 queen-sized bed frames (Similar designs, one in brown soft leather the other in micro-velevt with crystals. Price about 30% less than other furniture show rooms) 2. 1 king-sized bed frame (black micro-velvet with crystals. With additional borders so mattress can sink in. Price we were quoted was 40% less than other furniture show rooms) 3. Single bed frame with pull-out (design was selected by my boy) 4. Dining Set (Round black tempered glass table with lazy susan, base wrapped with PVC with crystals, 5 micro-velvet chairs with crystals) 5. Balcony Set (2 rattan chairs with cushions, table with tempered glass. I saw this model from a Chinese outdoor furniture website asked him to bring this model in) Initially, I was kind of skeptical about catalogue shopping / limited display and even went down for a 'recce' a day before bringing my family down. In fact, I find it quite hassle-free and transparent, best thing is the prices are relatively lower than what you see at other furniture show rooms. Eric definitely knows his stuff and was very helpful, patient in explaining prices, models, etc. When we had questions, he goes the extra mile to find out so that's a plus. Delivery is scheduled early Dec so I'll provide pictures on quality then. Cheers!
