Thanks papaeund! I tried it out last weekend to put something up. It made several 8mm holes without problems. Guess it is still going strong after 20 years.

I recently inherited an old Bosch drill from my father (CSB 470-RLE). It must be at least 20 years old. I intend to use it to put up some hanging shelves, curtain rods, etc. It seems to be a impact drill as there is a switch on the top with a hammer icon. When I plugged it in to test, the drill spinned but I did not see any hammering action at the drill bit. Is it that the hammering will only happen after I drill into the wall? Or should I be able to see the hammering action even without drilling into the wall? I don't want to put a hole into my wall only to realize the drill is spoilt and cannot complete the drilling.

Are there any sources in Singapore for such baseboards and trim? And how much would it cost per foot?
