  1. Harmonoius purple is nice too! If not for our black and white theme, we would have used it around the house too. Now we only hope that the red base coat would not affect the purple we have chosen
  2. spray? Did he explain to you why use spray as base coat? Is spray more expensive than paint....
  3. Hi May_dream, this is the purple we have chosen Heng heng only wrong base coat so still can rectify.
  4. Hi faranggirl, I have PMed you. Hope you can get it at a good price! For the crystal light, we will be putting it in the wardrobe so we are hoping that it would not trap much dust there since we will not be opening the windows. In any case, one of the shop owners at balestiar told us that there is a cleaning agent which you could spray on the crystals and dust will automatically fall from it Now sure how true but we will be trying it out if we can find it!
  5. Yeah thanks for sharing. We are aware of the website. Also went to a few places like comfort and picket and rail before deciding on lush lush. All I can say is, at the end of the day, it boils down to what you are looking for lah
  6. He likes to tell us not to worry but we find it hard to do so when things are going wrong. The redeeming point is at least he has been quite responsive so far. He told us that the paint is base coat but red as base coat for a purple wall seems strange haha...
  7. Dropped by our house during labour day and we got a shock of our life! Our MBR headboard wall was painted with a wrong colour! Informed Rick and he said he will paint it again. Gg down to take a look over the weekend and hope the wall is re-painted by then.
  8. After spending 3-4 weekends going around SG to shop for furniture, we decided on the dining set and sofa and made the purchases over the last weekend. It is very tiring..... really tiring to shop for furnitures esp when you dun drive! Now I am glad that we have made the purchases and we can move on to look other things. In fact, we need to purchase the bathroom accessories urgently! Here are the pictures: Getting the chairs with armrest instead of the one shown with the dining table.
  9. Hi IPineapple, Not last week. I think was about 1 month ago.
  10. Yup yup! Surprised that you hack the floor tiles away. Ex?
  11. Hi Samich! R u a breezer~?
  12. Hi, Could I check, did u paint glossy or matt white for ur wall skirting? Thanks in advance
  13. Hanging lamp in MBR: Most prob is the Tasty jellyfish! Ceiling crystal light for WIW. Winner likely goes to Dangling simplisitic!
  14. Went around Balastier and Geyland to shop for lights and bathroom stuff and shortlisted some for consideration. Dining lights: A: Super duber bright LEDs B: Calming and peaceful C: Simple feel...
  15. Going to ask Rick to plaster the joining lines on 2 walls (1 behind sofa in LR & the other 1 in MBR). Hope he won't charge additional for this. Praying hard.....
  16. New door frames installed and new wall erected! 2 guys from Hong Tar came and installed the A/C trunking. I think they really know their work very well. One of them suggested the routing path for the trunking just by looking around the rooms for a short while. And the best of all, the routing path was very short and could be nicely concealed (concealed is subjected to boxing up by Rick. Not sure if he will charge additional for this job). During lunch, I chit chat to them and get to understand why it is better for the trunking to be routed at the shortest possible path. He explained that the shorter the trunking, the less work the compressor has to do since the cold air no need to be pumped so far away. Furthermore, a shorter pipe means the water only needs to flow a shorter distance for drainage. The longer the pipe, the more likely water will get stuck in the pipe. Overall, I feel that they are very focus during work and the end result is neat and good! (++ pts for Hong Tar!) 11 May 12: The trunkings were boxed up by Rick and he mentioned that he will not charge additional. Not sure if other ID/contractors would do the same. In any case, +pts for Rick this time.
  17. Tiling work for kitchen cabinet base. One thing I not happy is that the tiler took one of my spare tile and use without informing me or Rick. I specifically told Rick that I want to keep the spare tiles. (minor - pts here!) Shower kerb for MBR toilet. In term of workmanship, I am satisfied with it! (+ pts!)
  18. Zoomed in pictures on the hacked areas. Seems like they using a saw or something given that the edge r so straight. Floor skirting was removed too. Our new door frames for MBR & WIW. Feel kind of wasted throwing away the HDB supplied one which is made of cast iron! My parents flat is near to 30 yrs old and the iron frame is still sitting strong there.
  19. Some updates. Reno started last week with hacking walls as the first work. Laying of floor protection by a hardworking guy. Insisted on double layer and Rick agreed. (+ pts for him) Hacking in progress.... Hacking completed!
