Hi All, Just met up with contractor over the weekend, pending for quotes...... Have an enquiry here, nt sure if anyone can help to answer? Any advice wld b greatly appreciated!! My MBR toilet comes tiled (courtesy of HDB) n is >5yrs old, thkg of tearing away the toilet bowl n basin-vanity counter. My contractor says dat I dun haf to retile becuz of dat....n dat I can ask HDB for sme tiles to retile the affected area....is it true? I oni noe dat defect can change....dinno that contractor tear away the peripherals, oso can change tiles ah? As read on quite a few blogs here (whom are all neighbors), it seems dat the tiles are no longer in existence... does it mean HDB can change all my tiles for me (at sme charge I pressume...)? Many many thanks if someone can answer me.....

We plan to start reno sn....just finished our rom so can start liao before AD comes along in Dec

Hihi Jessie, Congrats on ur reno-starting! Wan to ask a favour of u....wondering if u took any pics to show the MBR + BRM2 space after hacking (as in pic depicting the space).... I have the same layout as u n we wan to hack the wall dwn too so we can do WIW in BRM2. But me n Brownmse haf prob wif deciding the WIW layout as we cant visualize the space after hacking..... If you haf such a picture (eg. taken frm MBR toilet), do u thk u can post it up? Thanks v much!

No lah, nt intendg to get rain shower liao.... Actuali I read in another forummer's blog that its the water pressure n nt storage heater dat shd affect the flow...I thk its the water pressure issue... if reali wan rain-shower, he wan the Grohe brand le...so exp! I haf no issue gettg normal-lookg showerhead...me no fascination with showerhead.... my fascination is with marble dining table.... I thk all of us has a softspot for smething, mine is the dining table! Hihi Odie, Thanks for the info & tips!! yah got idea in mind liao...just need to finalize nw n draw out... windows nt changing, oni need to add the living rm windows..saw a shop at IMM dat does the panaromic views wan (can push all to 1-side until windows majiam like disappear) Wall-paper we check w goodrich liao, they do installatn but our budget oni allocate for 1 studycorner (cuz its the smallest rm in hse, ehehhee ) aircon--seems most forummers go for hongtar....we proly follow too, heheh cant go much wrong rite? fridge--Wan to buy the fischer n paykel wan! electricity consumption lowest Btw, just wan to highlight to new flat owners....If ur designing ur own flat, rem to measure ur flat 1 mre time cuz HDB floorplan is NOT accurate wan....example, my 3m wide room became 2.6--2.8m after counting in the walls... Will get a quote sn n post it up! Cheers!

yah, plumbing works...dats the jat-pat-lang category? hhehehee..... Hw u define plumbing works or wat type of plumbg works do u haf to carry out huh? Just curious? We thkg of chg the MBR tam-pui (toilet bowl) n sink lah...(ownself buy for contractor to install) but dun plan to chg the location pts...dun need to do waterproofing cuz nt hackg e toilet tiles... In fact, e toilet + MBR + WIW is our main headache bah...tryg to reconcile desire n need hehehe Wantd to do a dry toilet outside wan...but veli hard le... U did flooring n kitchen? Sme other things I plan to do separately (get separate contractors): 1) Spray eggshell for existing wall-tiles, aka my ugly kitchen tiles n ugly bathrm tiles 2) air-con 3) Install living room panaromic windows + kitchen windows 4) wallpaper frm goodrich for studycorner + mabbe a small wall frm living rm Dats abt it i thk.....wah list looks long liao..... Harlows, wah dats quite a gd deal siah! The one I saw (cant find pic on web) is black tempered glass, then 3 cooker (small, med, big sparrsed out separately)...isit e same one? wer got container for oil? But 350 is cheap leh.....isit gd to use? Hoekee salesman say Fijioh used to be made in Jap, but thk nw is Taiwan.... therefore, if cookers can talk, urs wld speak japanese n mine mandarin, hehehehehe.... !!

Hihi Kris, did u check on e water pressure requiremts for the rain-shower? I read a fellow forummer blogs on rain-shower b4 gog dwn. When I went to Hoe Kee, their salesperson (another lady) sd dat it requires a storage type water heater for e rain shower. According to another forummer's blog, the water pressure shd nt be affectd by the size of e water tank (which Im mre inclined to believe too as it sounds mre logical). They recommended Grohe (which is mre suitable for HDB as it requires lower pressure). So dis afternn we went to Parkmall Grohe, n Grohe sd the min requiremt is oni 1 bar water pressure so HDB sure can.....(thk HDB is 1.5bar pressure)....but Grohe is exp!! !! Brownmse wantd to get a rain-shower but we r thkg of droppg e idea nw as 1) we dont reali need it n 2) the ones at PJ/HK may b mre suitable for condo/pte as their water pressure is higher, we r afraid dat buy oredi den water flow no gd le.....
