Wah....isit OMPM case?...looks like siah.... hdb is like dat la....dat day 1 of neighbours (at my mom's place) kena OMPM case oso....den hor, his unit no n our unit no 1 digit difference oni....his last digit 6, ours is 8...imagine the loansharks use paint to draw his unitno + expletives on the staircase.....den my neighbor tried to clean off unsuccessfully....frm far, look like my unit ompm....scare me manz....

Hi tim, Im not veli good with fengshui n stuff but just to highlight that the "ghost mth" starts on 13th Aug n most "pantang" wont move hse (or do anything major for that matter) in the lunar 7th mth... The calender says that 16th Aug is ok for "Dongtu" though.....If ur not looking for FSM to haf special dates etc, actually chu-yi (the 1st) or 15th of normal-lunar calendar mth (NOT lunar 7th mth) will do for Dongtu.... For moving in, if u reali dun mind moving in lunar 7th mth, den I guess anyday will do bah.....(NOT 14th of lunar 7th mth)....

Another update on the renos....nothing much done last few days. Up till last Fri, workers haf finished the 3 layers of paint n the skirtings. Also met with my contractor to confirm the kitchen n WIW design of carpentry. Estimate abt 10days b4 he comes to install the carpentry. Meanwhile, our task is to complete the buying of the lights n leave it in our new hse for electrician to install. As mentioned b4, we've completed almost the lights purchase, except for dining (hanging light), WIW lights, bb-rm's lights n studyrm light. We went to Space at milenium (did I spell wrongly...?) for a walk tdy n surpise, KArtell actually has discounts ...so we bought a hanging light for our dining table (1 problem down!) A picture of my living room. On the left of the picture, it is "Smoky" frm Nippon. On the right of the picture, the long wall is Ash-grey frm Nippon. Looks exactly the same hor? But on catalogues, Ash-grey was supposed to be alittle darker .....guess we realli itchy backside la.. A picture of my foyer area and white door. Contractor painted my door a matt-white. In fact, for my other doorframes in the house which we requested to b painted white, he all paint matt white....hmmm.... Mabbe not yet final-coat, gotta check it out with him.... Next my bombshelter door cum dining area. This is the "Smoky" color grey-wall. Looks suspisciously white on photo, dunno why..... Dining table gonna place here, with jus enuff space to open the door. Initially thinking of using a Decal on the door to spruce it up, now looking at the picture, mabbe wall-paper better.....looks realli plain nw... As I slog my fingers typing n my blains out thinking, hubby BrownMse happily watches FAcup program on TV dwnstrs....grrr.... Next on is the future BB-rm aka guest-rm. Have tried to take pictures using 2 camaras n 1 hp-cam liao, all come out different shade of green. Refer to earlier post, it is super-duper bright green... In any case, it is a very bright cheerful color.....oh and we went to Joo Chiat to look at curtains tdy (me, hubby n a very enthu MIL). Think shall choose a white curtain to match this superduper-green.....originally wantd to paint orange-color carrots on the wall, dats why i chose green color....hehehhee Must be thinking Im abit conky rite?....well, I keep a real rabbit lor.... Next up the studyroom taken frm outside its opening. The entrance is abt 2m, gonna put a glass sliding door. Color is a greyish tone actually, but upon reflection by the laminate, become brownish le..... In fact, our passage-way has become 3-color tone due to the 3 rooms different color liao..... Next 2 pictures taken at entrance of MBR. Picture (1), to the left is entrance of WIW, gona put a sliding wood-laminate door. Picture (2): MBR, king-size bed gona fill up most of the space, so nt much left. Another view of MBR (when Im standing at the air-con window). Love my white-color door frame against the light-brown wall Will update again when the lights r up n carpentry is in.....stay tuned!

Harlow Gingar... Think ur plaster box on ceiling works refer to false ceiling rite?...wow, u doing false ceiling for ur whole hse? It's quite extensive.....mabbe U wan to reconsider..false ceiling is most of the time, a "want" rather than a "need" la..... U may oso wan to ask the contractors if they haf their own carpentry workshop/factory. Those with own carpentry workshop normally can give better quotes for carpentry works.... I compared abt 3 quotes for my own reno n sme contractors r cheaper in a few areas but mre expensive in other areas.....If possible, u might wan to look at his other hses oso to see his finishing. Eventually, we signed up with the contractor that gaf an average px quote but his finishing had mre quality than the other contractor who was cheaper...and so far, he has been v responsible.... Just to share oni... Good luck with ur search n reno!! oh...ur quote dont seem to include haulage charges le....u might wan to confirm with ur contractor....

Hee apple....we went ard to different Best Denki n courts to try b4 we gaf in to temptatn to buy.... Now buy oredi, but bz doin reno, oso no time to play.... I suggest u move in liao den buy la... Me no sample yet...MIL see I veli busy, she got volunteer to sew for me....when I learn liao, will blog dwn the steps here, hehehehe.... But if u wanna buy cloth 1st hor, can measure ur hse windows or the length u wan ur curtains to be n go joo-chiat to buy first....u jus give uncle in the shop ur measurements, they will cut nice nice for u..... Last time home sec sch econs class, always go joo-chiat buy oso.... Alternative place to buy cloth wld be Arab street, I went there to browse materials for the rom prevsly, quite cheap oso....Dun go spotlight, spotlight actually not cheap....

I wan to do sme curtain-tracks oni n got sme contacts frm sme helpful forummers liao, but hafnt got ard to quotations.....n just wondering, did anyone here do curtain tracks on ceiling, instead of wall? (cuz I wan to do a curtain track in the middle of my WIW-rm, hubby says it will haf a track-bracket hanging out in middle of ceiling neh...) Thanks in advance!!

Hihi apple....WII is veli fun!! We were playing the WII-sports so both hands doing the action...den playing boxing smemore, me vs him.... so things got abig rough, hehehe....but its veli fun, attracts even non-pro gamers like me n its easy to play Its different frm xbox n PS becuz u point ur remote control at the TV screen n its very sensitive. So unlike the other 2, u dun haf to keep using ur fingers/thumbs to play....then it has easy to play games like golf, tennis, baseball, boxing inside the sports-WII. Harlow Blueberi, u gals thot of making ur own curtain? Thk can save quite a bit there..... Can go Joo Chiat to buy cloth n sew at hme if u got sewing machine or ask mama for help? Dun worry abt wedding dinner la....1 step at a time, track record shows dat msot times, frens n colleagues will at least breakeven for u wan.... U booked ur hotel liao?

The grohe showerset is not exp...its oni 170+...the cheapest of the lot....exp ones go for 400-600, even 1K This one got 3 functions, includg massage...meant for HDB (non-concelaed), doesnt include mixer. Bght at Grohe Parkmall (they close abt 7-8pm I think)....can go see see.... The difference is that the union inside (the part u put into wall to install) is stainless steel, so it wont rust, we thk will be using MBR toilet alot, might as well buy a better one so it will last longer... For our common toilet, we bght a $138 set frm HoeKee (shower-set + rainshower)...cheap HiHi Dfish....thanks for the feedback!! Still in time cuz I rushing to submit to contractor tonite....they need 10 days leadtime to manufacture.... I modelled it after my own Ikea wardrobe where the L-shape is 2 hanging rods le.... Paiseh, I dun understand ur corner is compartment shelves....cant visualise....any pics? or further description....hee, me a klutz la.... Went down to the house again tdy to check on the progress....surprisingly, sme work done everyday consistently for painting. We were quite afraid as it's been raining n we guessed the painting was gonna take longer to dry.....well, I suppose by midwk it shd be all painted liao.... View of WIW frm window, can see the color of the paint better....we were realli afraid we had chosen the wrong colors....seems that most of the colors are quite true to what we see on the catalogue, lighter or darker depends on the lighitng n flooring reflection. Baby's room....color Lush frm Nippon..... Oops, turned out a tad too green, hehehe .....but BrownMse says its bright n cheery, he likes...

Some more pictures to update...all taken over last weekend n this week..... Picture no1----How to survive while waiting for deliveries on Saturdays Necessary items all shown in picture: 1) Bodyshop spritz to spray on face 2) Cold drink 3) Pen n paper 4) Measuring tape to measure whatever's nt measured yet 5) Crocs slippers for comfort Got sme basic downlights at Chelsea last week n brought them to hse last Sat so dat electrician can cut the holes first. As it was quite rush, we decided to buy all the basic downlights first n tubes. So far, we're just short of a few nice hanging lights. Unfortunately, the advice of chelsea auntie differs frm my electrician alot..... On 1 hand, the aunty frm the shop says it's enuff lights when we told her the dimensions. But when we told our electrician, he just shake head n tell us confirm cmi..sure not bright enuff. Hence, we went back to chelsea n changed most of or purchases.... Moral of the story: be there when ur electrician confirms the downlight positions. Show him ur lights n ask if it's gone b bright enuff. They give good advice actually Picture 2: My square white downlight. I got most small ones initially, in the end, took all back n changed to big square ones. Picture 3: My spotlight along passageway Then we went down to grohe 2 days ago after work to get our last set of toilet accesory outstanding... BrownMse has been wanting to get his Grohe items for veli long liao... Due to the pipings in our mBR toilet, we made a box-up for it. Becuz of dat, it din leave much space to put a rainshower as BrownMse is 178 so rainshower I estimate wld at least need to be 2m bah.... In the end, after testing n looking at the Groke showerheads, we decided to go for a nice-looking showerhead with 3 functions (including massage). Surprisingly, quite cheap le....abt 170 for a set. And a Grohe mixer for abt 240....pictures below And a picture of a basin I saw in the catalogue at Grohe.....i Like!! But exp.....600++ leh.... My KrisRoz taps frm HoeKee Picture (1)---common toilet tap, picture (2), my kitchen sink tap...look like a gun, it came veli well-packed... BrownMse went dwn to visit the hse today n the workers haf finally started work again!!! Hoo-ray...!!! Well, they kinda stopped for the last few days cuz we hafnt confirmed the colors n laminates...till now, still thinkg abt my kitchen color.... Anyways, here's a picture of studyroom laminated in Dark color... Seems they have a procedure of painting the ceilings first and laminating.....here's a pic of the studyroom ceiling, a very light grey color...walls gonna be abit mre greyish... My baby's room aka guest room...think my laminate is maple...not so light as birch color but a warmer shade...they put the laminates along the length of the room to make it longer... And then the WIW room...same laminate as baby's room but they put it across the room instead to make it broader.....dinno that until saw the pictures n askd BrownMse why....how it turns out good... Color of the ceiling of WIW-room = light brown....the walls are gonna be Maldives color. And connecting MBR will be light brown for the walls....

Hihi..... Wondering if anybody has any views/comments on this simple WIW configuration that I've drawn here..... I need to submit to my contractor this weekend to manufacture... I plan not to use drawer handles, all drawers to have a small square gap to open.... My height is 2.6m as I didnt put any false ceiling in this room... The long end of L-shape is abt 2.3-2.4m (still flexible as I have another 1m extra space to the window). The short end is abt 1.3m as it is next to entrance (sliding door). My contractor have told me that depth of the wardrobe is normally abt 60cm and that normally 1 portion is abt 50cm (1 door space). Wont be having any doors as Im planning to use curtains to curtail the space out.... Pls kindly advise, all appreciated very much!! Thanks!!!
