Try to see if the led lights is something like this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/e27-1210-6w-84-led-588-lumen-6500k-light-bulb-white-85-265v-ac-35829. Likebi say, there are different type of led lights, you just have to find the right one. Led or plc with dimming function can be quite expensive....they tend to drive the light weaker and so less bright then without dimmer. But one thing that I failed to consider. There are a lot of type of plc. You might be able to fit 2x18 watt plc onto the same square as a single 6w led shown above....then of course you will have brighter output.

Possible For Led Downlights To Cost $110-120?

I got the electrician to modify the light holder to e27. So I can change to those plc with e27 if I like... Led light are directional, so I got something like one shown here http://www.dealextreme.com/p/e27-1210-6w-84-led-588-lumen-6500k-light-bulb-white-85-265v-ac-35829 it's very bright as it focus the bright to a direction. Problem is it's too bright for the study so I did not install it in study, Yes, led does dimmed over tine, but I would suspect it have better performance to plc....but I guess only time will tell.... -
Hi, does anyone knows if there are any biomatirc locks without handle that is not in the rim lock kind of design? kind of ugly to have something sticking out of the back of the door.....

i dun know what your intention in, but for me, I only do LED for my Living room, Kitchen area. Even in the living room, i do have the option of turning on the hidden tubes in the false celling to create a type of nice ambience to the room. The reason I put LED only in Kitchen and living room is that these are places that the light will be on most of the time. The LED i got is those high intensity ones with 6w slightly dimmer then the common 2x13W to light up the area. Thus, they will actually save more electricity in the long run. I also pick LED for these area because PLC will actually dim over time and I kinda hate changing tubes every 4 years.....LED on the other hand is not suppose to dim and is suppose to last much much longer (however, I only used it for a year, so can't tell if this claim is true). So my suggestion is to determine that you want before making the decision..... -
there are many kind of LED ....are you talking about the CREE type of high intensity led or those led that people put under their car strips....you know those Ah Being kind..... LED is brighter, but it tends to have a very narrow lamination area, led is only 1 dot, while PLC is much larger. It's not enough to depend on the light alone. Lighting needs to be taken in totality. that means, the driver, the light bulb, the reflectors, the diffuser....all these are equally important. Do you know that even if you consider only PLC lights, different ballast will have different light output.....

like i say, you have to depend on the experience of the installer, so i guess reputation is important... the things i have pointed out are scientific parameters, actually I doubt most shops can even tell you what they mean, for me, the 'old man' doing the installation was able to provide a better solution to me vs details like kelvins or lumens (something he doesn't understand)......don't just focus on the bulb, things like the driver for the light, the fixture, the reflectors the color of the room all come into play, with the wattage only determining how much you pay the electric bill..... basically, you should place more emphasis on the installer then the parameters of the bulb....these are quite useless when taken in the context of the entire project.... what whisper says about plotting the light points are quite right if you are into these things....but again, an experience contractor only need one look to advise you accordingly..... (PS: don't ask me the contact of the installer as he is a sub-con of the ID, it's only i had a pleasant conversation with him and feels that his advise seems to match up to what i know about lights...) -
That is what I thought too.....if my old Toyota uses imitation leather and can lasts .... Why not get them to make sofa.... Your merc how old? Does the seat still look good? Maybe can dig out their supplier to custom make sofa

Watt is just the power consumption of the bulb....2 bulb can have identical wattage, but different brightness.... A better gauge to compare bulbs would be it's lumens....but that is just touching the surface....other factors that are equally interesting are: - color spectrum of the light with lower k giving warmer color - the spread of the light, led tends to cover a smaller spread, so even with higher lumens, without the proper diffuser you will still not be able to brighten up the room evenly - for non-uni-direction lights, quality of reflector also play an important role.....reflectors that are coated with silver can reportly boost light output by 20% So seriously to get into the tech part of this is complicated. I find it's easier to depend on the experience of the installer ... -
Thanks, Interesting to know that q cheap car like Toyota used good leather......

knowing my wife, we will probably change it in other 5-6 years time.......if you are still keeping up with the work you promise here, we will definitely take a look....

that's weird....your shop is the one next to tai sent MRT right? that guy told me that the L-shape sofa was top grain and 7k something, now you are saying the most pricey you have is 7.99k for a customize one .... maybe I saw him pointing to the wrong sofa or misunderstood what he was telling me, sorry my bad..... yeap, itailan sofa for less the 7k before GST....L-Shape, some special promotion thingy by one of the brand names here (i think if if trace back to the promotions during late Sept, you will know which brand i'm talking about).....I initially was afraid of walking in as i have not intention of spending 10-20k for sofa, but was quite surprise that there was one of promotion that matches the exact design i wanted....

i imported from HK via dealextreme.com, it's way cheaper. My idea is that given that I'll only turn on the lights when i am at home,i can monitor is something were to go wrong. If you select the right LED bulb with the correct defuser it can actually be very bright....my maid was quite frustrated when i switch my washing area from PL to LED as it became glaring bright and she ends up without excuse for not washing the clothes properly.....

actually, I have a burning questions that I meant to ask. few years back, i have a toyota car that I own for 5 years. In fact, during those days, i spent more time inside my car driving around then sitting on the sofa at home. After 5 years, despite being well use and under the sun all the while, there is no peeling or tear of my leather seats. Throughout the 5 years, I have also never used any leather care product on it.... I'm sure given the pricing of the car, the leather seat can't possibility be real or top quality leather. So why is it that car seat leather seems to last and has better track records then sofa leather?

Does it includes workmenship? Would say it would be a good price if it does, and seriously you wouldn't be able to know if it has the safetly mark unless you inspect the lights before he install -
Haha, I wasn't looking at the discount model ....this was about a month back, where you ave a l-shaped full top grain sofa (or so claimed) at 7k......I was seirouly taken aback by the claims made by your sales guy and coupled with the fact that the company was quite new..... In the end, I got mine from a heavyliy discounted Italian sofa and it was surprisingly a few dollars cheaper....you might says it's not worth because it come with limited warranty, but to me, it was from a shop that has been selling sofas for a decade,, so I know at least the offer is real...
-
Hi el, don't get me wrong. For my case, it was actually because of the claim of the five year warranty that we went with another company. Maybe it's the way the sales present his pitch or the mood of the day.....but I do find the claim too unbelievable which was why I walked away. Just a liitle feedback....not all customer will jump in if the deal looks too good to be true

hi guys, I'm thinking of putting a nice little 2 seater in my room to "cozy up" with my love one when watch tv..... My idea is to get the Dania Lunar Mini Round Lounge, show here... but I can't seem to find it...... someone also suggested bean bags from Ambient Lounge.. which I also find maybe can work...... If anyone come across any nice 2 seater that is not in the traditional square, boxy format, or if any know where i can get the Dania Lunar locally. Please let me know.... Thanks

I don't think Jenius will disclose the company that he work for....IMO, web reality and actually world can be quite disjointed....so just take the posting here as additional information for your purchase decision. You still need to do your own research/shopping around and simple common sense when you make your purchase. For me, I find it amazing (and encouraging) that EL can offer warranty for leather for 5 year, whereas non of those high end shops even provide 1 year warranty as it involves shipping the set back to italy....much less those on the 'budget' range of sofa..... maybe the industry is different, by in mine, the cost of warranty has already been worked in or its renew on a annual basis - if not, there is no way I can run my business (PS: I definitely not in the furniture industry and definitely NOT a competitor....)

Where To Buy (Nice) Linen For King Mattress

Chengal is one of the strongest and lasting wood around. When I was in the marine fish hobby, Chengai wood frame is the best type possible to use, it can be used to support those giant 6 foot marine tanks that can weight tons. However, Chengai has the issue of staining floors and wall. So make sure it's not leaning against anything that you would like it to stain.... Not really sure about Okan wood as I have not look at it before....

Ceiling Fan On False Ceiling Possible For 3Ng Resale?
folwer replied to adidasvintage's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
It's fine as long as you don't raise your hand high while standing and swing your baby up in the air.... But I think you need to talk to the contractor cause for my case, he had to build a support and modify the false celling ....it cost more then the fan itself.... -

folwer replied to kalimantan's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I order led light bulb from dealextreme.com. Very cheap. I got those that have standard e24 fitting and has been test running them in the toilet for 4 months so far so good. Getting my contractor to change the PL fittings to e24 at my new place....hopefully work out well.... -
