  2. Hi, I am a first time flat owner and had recently purchase a 5 room flat and had engaged a ID to carry out some renovation works for our unit, as this is my very first time, was hoping you guys can give me some advise on the quote provided by my ID. The flat was in pretty decent condition, except for the 2 toilets and we had intended to redo both the toilets, add a built in wardrobe to the master bedroom, a wall feature for TV console, replace the existing kitchen cabinet doors with some touch up and painting works. We have keep all the existing floor and wall tiles except for that in the toilets. Anyway, our ID quoted the following (I have only listed the major items), (1)Renovation to the 2 toilets (for both toilets unless otherwise stated), (a) Hack off existing floor and wall tiles - $800 (b) Lay new water-proof - $400 © Install new SS water piping - $450 (d) Construct shower kerb with tiles - $240 (e) Supply and lay new non-slip floor tiles - $900 (f) Supply and lay ceramic wall tiles to ceiling - $3200 (g) Labour to install 2 nos instant heater, WC bowl, wash basin, toilet accessories - $580 (h) Supply and install 2 alum bi-hold door - $380 (i) Supply and install 2 sets of 10mm thk clear tempered glass shower screen - $1040 (2) Carpentry works (a) Supply and install new laminate doors (approx 28 nos) to existing kitchen cabinet and drawers - $2410 (b) Supply and install 9ft built-in wardrobe c/w casement doors w laminate finish - $1980 (Approx $220 per ft) © Supply and install suspended vanity cabinet, solid surface worktop c/w sink and mirror (approx 5.5 ft) - $1700 (d) Supply and install 8 ft suspended TV console with full ht feature.- $2200 The whole package was approximately $19K and I wonder if the carpentry works is in line with the market price esp since I heard the material cost had recently increased. Thanks in advance.
