  1. Rottenramone 60 points include installation of lights too, all in. I'm doing lotsa carpentry so need to relocate points.
  2. Mango I'm buying from Perfect Cool... we know the boss.
  3. Sami I have not started renovation, waiting for permit from HDB for demolishing of wall so I won't be at the new place. You can go to level 4 for the showroom of 5-rm. I have only started laying electrical wiring for the house... a good whopping 60+ points including relocation of lighting point, power point, installation of lightings and new lighting point and power points.
  4. Centrino Is it the same online shop where you bought the LED? I'm buying the LED strips (for cove lights) left over from the renovation of one of the forumers. So if the length is insufficient, I'll order the shop you recommended. Initially wanted to buy T5. I went to Light Maker at Jalan Besar, beside lightings.com and was quoted for $800 hanging light with LEDs. Total cost with kitchen, bathroom lights etc, it cost a whopping $2k+ for entire house, excluding cove lights.
  5. Hi... will you be getting tinted mirror for your dining area? IMHO it's look nicer and classy with a tinted mirror. Depending on your theme, but personally I like dark color for the feature wall to provide a good contrast from the light colored floor tiles....
  6. Mango Our aircon ledge can put 2 compressors de
  7. I envy your big bathroom where you can have entire row of cabinet and counter top for your sink. We got a new unit with HDB and the toilet bowl is next to the sink thus our dream of having a similar layout like yours has been banished. Another place which offers nice and cheap furnishing/furnitures would be Vietnam. Bangkok has become very commercialise and not as cheap as it used to be, not sure if the claim is true cos I have not been there for years...
  8. We did not budget sound system in our new home as DH doesn't appreciate them and would rather put the $ on other area. However, me being greedy as usual would like to have a home theatre system. Juz got to know from a friend that home theatre does come together with a good sound system, meaning do not need to have 2 system at home to cater to both needs (it is a want in this case). DH thought that we could just buy those Sony/Samsung/JBL which cost only a few hundreds or sometimes comes free (although the cost is incorporated) with the TV. Thus, in the beginning I thought probably we can upgrade later when we have deeper pocket. However, this option would then come with the ugly exposed cabling if we do it later.
  9. Thanks a good bargain taking into consideration the current high COV.
  10. Your renovation has progressed well and fast, hope that it will be a smooth journey for you... all the best!
  11. I am sure for our case would be having more to bring over than throwing! LoL That's why the first criterior we given to our meeting with the prospective IDs/contractors is to have alot of storage space and needs lotsa carpentry at home. Although off the rack shelves and cabinet are cheaper but we or rather I prefer built-in furnitures for the storage.
  12. Will the glass backsplash not able to withstand heat? Have you cleared your concern? I also want to have hte glass backsplash and I am amazed that they have so many colors available. Did you go to the direct supplier or thru your ID/contractor? Would you be able to share the contact? Thank you.
  13. Congratulations on the comnpletion of your renovation. I'm sure it's a tedious and tiring process and it's gonna be our turn soon.... I like your toilets, initially we wanted to get the black pebbled tiles for our toilet too, but later abort the idea as we are not getting the plain tiles to match it. Instead, we opt for those little squares-like mosaic toilet tiles which we have been eyeing few years back after seeing our friend having it for their bathrooms too. Orange was also one of our color but somehow, we "disqualify" them. Basically, I still do not know what I want contrary to my DH. Hope you will settle soon at your new house and all the best to your moving this weekend.
  14. Hi Potatoes Do you mind sharing where did you get the lighting for your foyer? We are also looking for the same for our foyer and passageway to the bedrooms, casting shadow effect on the ceiling/wall. From the photo, you have the 3 lined lights near the foyer light, is it cos that light isn't bright enough?
  15. Isn't contractor supposed to be cheaper than ID? Does that mean that the contractor has higher profit margin that the particular ID? All
  16. I'm interested in your dresser for your missus... could we have a sneak preview?
  17. Gnipihz I like your chandlier and crystal light outside your MBR toilet... can share where did you get it? Also from where you got your LED strips? Great job by Kok & Perlyn
  18. Hi Mango I intend to have 2 compressors, i.e. system 3 for bedrooms and single system for living. The reason is we will seldom switch on the living air con, probably only on occassion when we have guests. For e.g. if we buy system 4 of probably 24K + 3x 9K BTU for living and 3 bedrooms, your compressor will be of higher capacity than system 3 of 3x 9K BTU thus consuming more electricity/power. In order to save $$ on our monthly PUB, we will be getting 2 compressors. I was told that 18k BTU would be sufficient for our living room, however, 18k BTU does not mean you will have 18k BTU of aircon, the air con would probably run on around 16k+ so I thought of getting 24k BTU. But difference between NON INVERTER 18k & INVERTER 18k is $300 INVERTER 18k & INVERTER 24k is $300 therefore NON INVERTER 18k & INVERTER 24k BTU is $600!!! I am a greedy person and I shamelessly agree *sigh* At first I only wanted a 18k BTU NON INVERTER for aircon, then later a INVERTER 18k BTU then later a INVERTER 24k BTU!!! I have not told my DH, sure de If I chose INVERTER 18k BTU, it will take me to run 800hrs to break even based on $0.30/kw charge from PUB, currently we are being charged at $0.28, which if we on it for 8hrs a week will take us 2 years to break even.
  19. Thank you for your effort in going the extra mile to get the name of the shop for me and exact location.... kam siah
  20. Living Option 2 The difference between NON INVERTER 18k BTU & INVERTER 18k BTU is $300 INVERTER 18k BTU & INVERTER 24k BTU is $300 also BUT NON INVERTER 18k (!!!) Ain't I greedy?
  21. I'll definitely PM you!! *blushed*
  22. Just curious.... do you mind sharing what would you be using on hte worktop above the w/m? Is it a stainless steel bracket support? But it looks glass to me leh...
  23. I have downloaded the IHandle Level apps too... *Thumbs Up* thank you for sharing...
