I was quoted by Mover 168 at $350 including 20pcs cartons, all in no GST. So now the decision is to choose Mover 168 or The Helping Hand. Anybody has any feedback on Mocer 168?
-
I was quoted by The Helping Hand $280 per load, if additional trip required, additional cost of $140 + $25 (not lift landing) + $50 corridor and loading at the carpark. Price including 20 boxes Soon Seng quoted $550 with unlimited boxes excluding deposit for boxes (pay deposit of $100 and will be refunded when the boxes are returned). Unlimited trips, all in. Mover 168 did not come today. Sigh... but the guy will come tomorrow.

Terence Bro, Citygas installed the heater and delivered the dryer this morning. In fact, when I called them last week for the installation, they told me the dryer is OOS but they'll call their contractor if they have it in stock, if yes, they'll deliver it together. Are the pipes for gas or water? Tot only one outlet for gas? If water, I guess, we need to tell our plumber. However, I the inlet and outlet is fixed on the heater, so I think we do not have a choice. I'm getting quotes for mover, anyone has Jimmy's contact? So far, have called up Soon Seng, Helping Hand and Mover 168.

Yo Bro My knowledge is limited.. so forumers please correct me if wrong There are different types of downlights, energy saving ones, normal ones and LEDs. As you are aware, we got our LEDs downlights & panel lights online from China with Samsung chips. Many got the easyscene from Philips but only a limited number of casing is available due to its dimension. The LED strips which I have got will not be bright enough for brightening up the area which I have confirmed after bringing it up for testing. These are only capable of providing mood lighting. Unless you put double strips on it... but not sure how much brighter it will be and that will also mean, you would need a bigger size transformer. LED downlights has a limitation on the liminating angle... so you need to check, that's why we got panel lights for the walkway in the living room. We got the same dryer and heater!!! In the end, we have succumb to accepting the fact that our service yard will be cramp cos I refused to give up the gas dryer as our area does not have much sunlight cos left side of the yard block by staircase and right side block by our rooms so we only have sun from the front and do not think it'll be enough "sunning" for our laundry.

Yo Angel Do show us your loot after you are back... have a good trip and take care!!

Thanks Reiki for dropping by... Have called up Blum and they mentioned that I should be looking at Tandem for the runners & hinges unless I wanna get the metal support instead of using carpentry for the drawers on the side. Initially wanted pull out basket but realized that having drawers would save alot more yet having the same purpose. Thanks to your blog on your kitchen which gave me the inspiration Bro Gnipihz Thank you for giving me some comfort... contractor says the the tiles would be too heavy for the boxup/pelmet and surface is too smooth? However, what has the surface gotta do if you were to do the cement screed? Or is screeding not do-able on pelmet? $460/toilet just for the waterproof pelmet is too expensive for me!! It's chopping on carrot lor 8|

You are so funny... Not hitting you but myself

Hey Angel... Thanks for the contact and the image on the ladder unit from Hafele... We should be buying from Ban Kim Chuan from Bedok for our electrical appliances but learnt over the weekend that Mega Store can match their price so might purchase from Mega since no additional fee for credit card purchase.
-
Bro gnipihz Do you have a picture of the tiled box up/pelmet for the pipes in your toilets? Could you email me at amoroux@hotmail.sg so that I can show it to our contractor? We are now asking him if others can do it without taking down the box up/pelmet why can't he.... Thanks...

We got the black one in entirety Can't wait for the renovation to complete and to receive our purchase.... Purchase from Hommage really saves alot for us c0mpare to getting it from XZQT.

Hmm... in this case think will get our electrician to come up to install the lights and switches after the carpentry is up but before installing the doors. Cos some of the switches are mounted on the carpentry... but better confirm with electrician first... can be smart but not overly smart -
Bro What did you get from Hafele? Can ask you why did you choose Hafele over Blum?

Kinda upset and unhappy about the renovation - First We overlay both toilets and we told our contractor that the pelmet/box up from HDB to conceal pipings needs to be tiled as well. He told us that will be additional cost and would be costly as it's a waterproof pelmet. The pelmet/box up needs to be taken down to tile it and could not be used back as likely than not, it'll be damaged once taken down. But shouldn't his quote include tiling on the box up? Is this considered to be hidden cost? Got people do overlay/tiling of the toilets but exclude the pelmet/box up one meh? Second We purchased the gas dryer, hood and hob bundle from City Gas and the gas heater. The guy from City Gas came down to do a site survey before fixing appointment for laying the gas piping. We intend to put w/mm dryer and heater at the service balcony. But we do not have space!?!? According to the City Gas guy, alot of owners are facing this problem with the new HDB flats and many cancellation after placing order for the gas dryer. So for all the marketing of electrical bill savings to use gas appliances, the design of the HDB flats did not take into consideration of space planning for these appliances at the service balcony?!?! Typical of HDB.... From the below picture, the 1st and 2nd intended space to put the dryer is out due to the restricted space and the ugly huge piping. Another option is instead of wall mounting the dryer, we will get a stand, i.e. the dryer will be on top of w/m indicated on the green shaded area. However, this would block the light coming into the kitchen and the hydraulic clothes hanger which will only be able to lowered down to a certain height. If we hang clothes on the hydraulic hanger, it will further block the light coming into the kitchen. We have planned for a black kitchen and the above restrictions will further darken our kitchen Not only this, the gas heater will need to be mounted on the protruding wall at the entrance of the service balcony with ugly pipings for the gas, 2 piping for the water to the heater, and 1 more piping to the bathrooms. So the question now is... should we cancel the gas dryer?? Third The progress of the renovation is getting too slow for our patience!!!! Tiling started on Thursday 10th November, afer 3 working days, both toilets have not been completed yet?! Nothing started in the bedroom, hall and kitchen. Only 1 tiler was working yesterday, saying he returned to hometown. Told our contractor, he said he has told the foreman about the deadline and the foreman will take care. I replied saying, you as the contractor is the paymaster of the tilers, you can't leave it to the foreman, you must be in control. Me being your customer must know your plan to ensure that the progress/work must be as per our schedule. Then contractor replied that more men will be deployed tomorrow. I asked how many men will be deployed to ensure that tiling will be completed by Tuesday. Let's wait for his reply lor.... At work, we are fighting with deadlines given by the management and expediting the suppliers and contractors. Why must I expedite and monitor this closely for our renovation?! *fuming*

Bro Centrino Read about the IKEA and BLUM but I'm worried about rusting part as I also read that it is not SS? I do not know how to plan the kitchen with the drawers, as in width and height of drawers leh.. Is the standard width 60cm? What about height for deep and normal drawers? Do not like the standard width, would like something like 1m? Plus I do not know if get BLUM, should I be looking at Tandem or Tandembox or the standard and what are the differences?

I can't wait to install the lights! When do we get our electrician to come down for the installation? After carpentry? Or before? If before than they need to make 2 trips? -
Initially we also do not wanna get a coffee table due to the distance between the sofa and the TV console. That's why we got a sofa with wooden arm rest. However, in the end we got a coffee table as it's in the package from Cellini. Might place the coffee table else where though after the carpentry is up with furnitures delivered.
-
I concur!!!
-
Congratulations on your purchase! We got our dining table (extendable) from Hommage too, the glass table taken with your dining chairs but in black glass.
-
Bro Terrence I still wanna buy the kitchen accesories from BLUM, haven't include the cost in yet... also dunno how much would it amount to *sigh*
