Nice work there Takeyu!! Glad to see so much progress!

Hhahah I will only have my chairs delivered to me in March. I hope they will be comfy. I know what you mean. A little like the project shop cafe. 1 table with 4 different chairs. I wanted to go collect 4 different chairs from salvation army etc and send them for upholstering / restoration, but hubby doesn't like the idea.

Hi Piknik~ Merry Christmas! Oh, there are loads of hollow parquet flooring in the 3 rooms. We used a marble to knock the parquet flooring. The sound difference between the solid and hollow parquet is pretty obvious to the ears. Then use some masking tape to "box" up the area and report to BSC. We just finished all the 3 rooms yesterday. I saw in FB they take their own sweet time to rectify all these hollow defects.

Nice place you have got there! It is very similar to mine. Guess HDB decided to use 1 template for all the new flats. I hate the MBR sink too!! Are you gonna change it?
-
You can find them in Lushlush. Its about $110 each

Finally settled down and uploaded some pics of our new house!

Bought 4 dining chairs yesterday!
-
hahha I like your idea! Have to convince hubby tho, cos his pet peeve is 'mess' and clutter and likes everything simple, white and covered up. You just gave me an idea tho, maybe I can do a wall mural in the study room!
-
wow! hahaha I suppose you are going to draw your own cartoons and send them for sticker cutting? That sounds like real fun! A designer's house will always be different from the ordinary. hehe

Hahahaa! I opened my eyes at like 5am, and all I could think of was...... Key collection!! Then I couldn't sleep anymore. The flat is REALLY breezy! Despite the fact that I am at a low level, my front door faces the LRT and the waterway, and the breeze was tremendously good! Everyone in the family had to keep adjusting their hair. Luckily no one wears a wig! I hope they won't build anything that fast to block it. We only found some minor defects like gaps in the skirting, that can be easily fixed with silicon (I think). There was however a 5 cent hole on 1 of the living room tile. We have submitted the defects form, so I hope they will replace the broken tile and not patch it with cement like my mom says. *Remember to buy a padlock and pass this padlock key to the BSC office if you want to declare your defects. Do not give them your original keys I Love my new house!

Thank you NeoBY!! Hope to see you around soon! Thank you Potatoes! Hi Confidential, Yes everything is concealed. Pipes, electrical wires etc Hi joshdes! Thank you! I guess it will be a mix of everything from everywhere. Talking abt Picket & Rail, I have yet to visit them! (Thanks for the reminder!) I went to Scanteak and Lush Lush! Almost wanted to buy my em chairs immediately, but I think I will make a trip to Gnee Hong to see if its cheaper there. Do you know when did the Lush Lush sale start? I was there prob in Nov and there weren't any discount on the chairs that I wanted Hi Piknik! Your house will be industrial theme? I love the cemented walls but hubby hates them. I heard from a I.D that it will be hard to prevent cracks in them too.

Today is Key collection day!!

Hi Farizar! Are u from breeze too? hahaha. Thank you for your advise! wow, BTOs come with concealed wiring? My mom's old flat has wires all over the ceiling and it tracks around the whole house which is super ugly. hahaha if there is concealed wiring then I won't have the false ceiling anymore. I don't think I will use an I.D. I will go straight to a contractor to cut costs.
-
Hi Piknik!! Hi Fellow Breezer! Hahah I thought my T-blog was 'dead' and i suddenly saw life. Thank you for the amazing ideas! I will most probably do away with the false ceiling and use pendant lamps like the ones in your pictures (I loveeeeee swedish apartments!). I will need to talk to a electrician about how I can do it the right way. Are you using a I.D? I will be collecting my keys on the 13th. Which block are u from?
-
Is it breeze?
-
Hi All, Is the false ceiling really necessary? I was told by my I.D. that if we don't use a false ceiling we won't have enough light source in the living area as we wouldn't be able to use down lights. Is there another alternative to light up the place without ugly wires showing up? I think that money used for the false ceiling can be better spent else where.
-
Hi Snake! PM-ed you. I got this quote before I decided on this style, so the I.D didn't have much chance to input any idea. I find his quote pricey too, esp when I am on a tight budget. I also think that 3D drawings are necessary as I also do not want any dispute and re work. Hope to see pics of your reno soon! Thank u!
-
Hi Frigginfushia! Thank you for your warm welcome. Glad we like the same style! I wonder how much electrical will cost. I should email them and ask *sigh* Oh, the washroom.. Our MBR will come with a vanity top, which the ID claims it will be ugly, so we have decided to leave that alone till we get the keys and view the place. But still I should also ask him to include that in so I can have an rough idea of the pricing. Thanks so much!
-
Ahhhh!! I knew some stuff were missing. Thanks so much for reminding me MingZhuAng! I don't know why they can't be truthful and not hide costs from us. I guess that's a gimmick to let us first timers sign up with them.

I saw this absolutely cute pendant light online!

Good Morning sfk7~ Yes, I believe so too. I don't think I will/can change the flooring as my flat will come with default ones. But I will definitely put in a white brick wall to give it that look. Hopefully everything will go according as planned. Thanks for dropping by!

Hi Techaview! Wow. it's in Singapore. Thanks so much!

hahaha! I love that idea but HTB will strongly object to it.

My head is in a mess, but this is from my desk. Creating the mood board and pasting possible furniture on it has been my weekly routine. The poster idea near the main entrance was 'stolen' from Jumpstreet's T-blog. Credits to Jumpstreet. I am going to use that idea, but illustrate my own poster and have it printed and framed.
