  1. wah... that's a feat man. I don't envy your position. Keep the pics coming... we wanna see the progress. Kudos!
  2. Yes, sir! I will stand there with a whip.
  3. Can re-route wan meh? Cannot lah.. at least for mine. One big one on each side of the bathroom, give up. I'm just boxing it up like what the previous owner did. That boxed up area will become the entrance separating the toilet from the bathroom.
  4. Haha.... ok. It's ok lah.. I could live with one pillar. The other pillar will be part of my bedroom wall and wardrobe. There's a 1/20 chance that someone is using that antenna lor.. given the demographic of residents there... mostly ah kong and ah ma who've been there since T.O.P. No store room for our 3I layout, always good to have a bit of storage space. I am creating as much storage space here there and everywhere. I am even going to get a bedframe that can hide my winter clothes, mahjong table and folding chairs. Oops... did I say mahjong table?
  5. Congrats, snaem85!! It's a very challenging layout to work with indeed. Are you shacked out by all that weekend and weekday night shopping yet? I am pooped!! Can't wait for reno to end, move in and life to go back to 'normal'.
  6. DAY 7 It is proven... yelling works. Treat the contractors with utmost respect but yell when you have to. Otherwise they think you can be trifled with. After the outburst on Sat morning, the waste pipes in the kitchen were changed to brand new PVC ones by the time I went up during lunch time. They should be done changing the toilet ones as I am typing. The tilers were also hard at work, getting the kitchen ready for tiling. The tiles. The war zone. The tiling journey can be long and arduous if you want a good job done. Now crossing my fingers the workmanship is good (as promised by my ID), and the masonry work turns out swee swee. Need to plaster the walls and ceilings and make good the jagged edges as a result of hacking.
  7. Thanks... like leopard spots. I've not counted yet... let you know in due time. But mine is only a 3 room flat leh. Can't compare apples to apples right? Hehehe.
  8. I think what zer0sg meant is, he won't be having those top hung cabinets so the kitchen looks more open and less cluttered. That would mean sacrificing some storage space.
  9. The reno cost is making me broke. Gotta save some $$ and decided to bring my sofa from existing place over, along with the rug and my coffee table. Couldn't bear not to anyway...
  10. Very nice condo layout wor. Such a central location somemore... CONGRATS!
  11. Very NICE sofas... I like the bottom and middle one. The legs are so retro. Will consider it when my current one becomes unusable.
  12. Muahahaha... I think same TV only lah. Your place in the city? Anyway, I went to scrutinise our floor plans and 'before' pics, and noticed quite a number of difference .. so can't be same block lah. 1. Yours is slight wider and shorter (if you are looking at the entire house, length x breadth). 2. Mine only has one beam running across the kitchen. You seem to have more. 3. Yours has no irritating support pillars in the middle of the flat to constraint you. I have TWO!! (my gosh!) 4. My kitchen windows go all the way to the corner where the toilet entrance is, yours doesn't. 5. I don't have recess areas under the living room and room windows. It's flushed with the windows. 6. I seem to have more windows in bedroom 1. Besides that, everything else looks the same. Oh, we definitely have one major thing in common ... the horrendous old tv/fm antenna trunking in the living room corner wall.
  13. I can understand why. Having an ID also the same lah. If they are the type, you say what also can wan, then same headache. In the end, it's all your own ideas. Actually if it weren't for the fact I don't have the time to chase after separate contractors, I wouldn't have opted for an ID. Are you gonna pull the whole project off, on your own?
  14. Hey thanks, Yuki&jason. Was wondering if you have seen the champagne or pearl colour. Saw it on the catalogue, but haven't had the change to see the real thing. The champagne looks very nice also.
  15. Welcome to the club, man. Hehe.
  16. Hey zer0sg, very nice planning. I like the way you organise your space. Very out of the ordinary. Can imagine how many hairs you lost, brainstorming the ideas. You sure you not gonna have top hung cabinets in the kitchen? I know it opens up the space, but be very sure you don't need the storage space ya? I decided against a study area as I use my dining area to double up as a working area. with the tablet computers, laptops and a SMART tv, I reckon I won't be be needing a study area.
  17. After going through countless catalogues of wallpaper designs, I am finally quite happy with these two pieces. I've got this predilection for all things black (or dark grey). Hehe! And red too (e.g. my kitchen colour). This will go on the wall at my dining area. Looks a bit like mosaic on the picture, but it really isn't. My ID had initially suggested black glass, but I think I've had enough of glass. The finger prints will drive me crazy. Decided to go for a wavy motif in my bedroom where the headboard will be.
  18. Will go with the 46" Samsung SMART LED TV, 7000 series. http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA46D7000LMXXS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&returnurl=
  19. Decided to go for the Legrand (Mallia) light and power switches. Lots of colours and gang combinations, but most likely will go with the silver. 2-gang light switch and water heater switch. Cable TV socket and double power socket.
  20. This Louis Poulsen artichoke lamp will be used for my dining area. Got the smallest one possible, so I hope it fits well.
  21. Simple is beautiful! I love your bed and dining table.
  22. White Blancometra 9 kitchen sink. Added a drainage basket made by Hoe Kee specifically for this design. Also the clone tap which looks like the original German stuff, but at a fraction of the cost.
  23. Bidet spray. Decided to get the cheaper in house/joint venture brand cos the Italian and German ones are just too huge and ugly. 2 way water tap. Also a JV Hoe Kee/Taiwan brand. Hanging knobs for bathroom
  24. The contractors take a break from all the knocking, nailing, mixing and plastering on Sunday, but the 'work' never ends for a house owner to be. Loads of time is spent discussing with the ID and shopping for household items. Shack shack and more shack is all I can say. Picked up quite a lot of stuff from Hoe Kee at their Tannery Road main office and came away happy and relieved. They were having a promotion for this one piece toilet bowl and sink set. Bought it at a steal. The tap too. Accessories too.
  25. Hi d2wntan, LOVE your 3Ds. Absolutely love love love love the dining area. Also love the wall paper idea in the bedroom, and the sliding wardrobe doors. Are you using pole system for your wardrobe. Depending on the brand, they might not always have the colours the ID wants. In my case, I used Alumix. The initial 3D my ID did was quite nice, but end up Alumix didn't have the laminates we wanted, and had to settle for something else. I think your plain white shoe cabinet looks great as it. Don't want it to be vying for attention with your lamps, dining chairs and feature wall. (hehe.. poease don't mind me, if I'm being too kaypoh).
