  1. Sure. You are renovating a 3-room flat also?
  2. Hurray! Jia you! Nice tiles and window. Looks like a lot of work getting done there.
  3. I don't know what to say.. speechless. You are right ...ultimate winner. Even the guys who turn up at my place to hack the house, knows to detach it from the the wall, coil up the slack, and leave the TP hanging from the ingress. You need to quickly make appt with OpenNet, pay $220 for them to relay. Insist that they start laying from the distribution point on your floor. That's what the very service-oriented OpenNet guy did for me. The staff are all very nice... the system sucks though.
  4. Kitchen again. From the other end. My Blanco kitchen sink, and vanity sink. Yes... 2 sinks in close proximity... hehehe... anyways....
  5. The tv console and laminate wall is up. Only need to paint it with some sort of finishing. I hope it doesn't change the colour too drastically. Full height cabinet in the living room. Bar top with artichoke lamp. The solid top should be installed by early next week. Kithen cabinets.
  6. DAY 32 Was told the carpenters weren't going to go up yesterday, but they turned up. No works today instead. Looks like quite a fair bit of work was done. Last bits to finish up on Monday. All the door frames, wooden doors and metal gate have been replaced. YES! The electricals are done. Can visit at night liao. Extremely happy with the silver Legrand light switches and power sockets. All hidden within the false walls. Not a cable to be seen, with a few exceptions of course. Kitchen ceilings, toilet ceilings and switches outside the toilet! The full height vanity cabinet for my bedroom.
  7. I have a top loading washing machine behind that. The chute is not blocked. Whatever small items that I want to hide, I will probably put it behind that L shape structure (e.g. pails, recycling container, etc). Will update more pics of that area at a later date.
  8. OMG.... that's nightmare of all nightmares. As it is so difficult to get the opennet people. the whole thing removed.. or just removed from the wall.. but the TP and the wires still intact? if still intact... just attach it again to the wall at the right place... sign on firbre service.. get the ONT people to come in .. they will re-test the signal before deploying the ONT. otherwise there's really no way you would know if the TP is gone for good.
  9. Cos I am a no nonsense kinda guy, told my ID I'm on a very tight deadline and my deadline is NON-NEGOTIABLE. If I don't move in on XX Oct, his head will roll. There are days when multiple parties will turn up at the flat to do their works, and multiple parties turn up to do measurements. And for each work type, there seems to be a few people working at the same time. E.g. tiling (2 or 3), carpentry (2), electrical (3), plumbing (2), painting ( I dunno cos they did over the weekend). And thank goodness, so far the place is not left idle with no works going on. That brings me back to my point about hiring a slightly more 'gong' ID, so can push and scold without him retaliating me with four-letter words.
  10. Windows is one of those things HDB will be very anal about and definitely need a permit. They are afraid we engage Ah Tee Ah Kow anyhow change, not accredited, the whole window fall off and kill someone.
  11. TV console. Or shall I say what's about to become a TV console. This should be the laminate for the TV 'wall'. More barang barang waiting to be assembled. Another view of the kitchen cabinets. Tomorrow afternoon, the electricians return to install some switches and power sockets. As the contractors continue to work on my home, I continue to worry about damage to my flooring.
  12. Suspended kitchen cabinets. Wash basin with suspended storage cabinet on the left. Full height wall cabinets in the living room. Full height vanity cabinet in the bedroom.
  13. DAY 30 Visited my flat first thing in the morning before I went to work. The glassworks are been done. All the carpentry stuff have been moved into the flat. I understand the guys have done one day of woodwork. The place is a war zone once again, with saw dust all over the place. Full height glass panels separating the dining area from the kitchen. More glass. This time, it's the door to the bathroom/WC. Looking into the kitchen. Can't wait for all this woodwork to end. Such an eyesore.. and messy messy messy.
  14. I had wanted to buy it myself. Saw it in one of the smaller light shops diagonally opposite the lightings.com.sg showroom at Jln Besar. Checked with my ID, and he told me the electrician can provide at additional $60 to change all the switches and plugs to Legrand. But thing is, they come with a face plate and rocker only (made for pte property where wires are hidden). So if you wanna use them, and are not concealing your electric wires, you will have to buy a matching base by another brand, which uglifies everything. PM me your email address, I send you the catalogue.. super huge file.
  15. I read somewhere that the CityGas storage heaters are very energy efficient and saves space. Uses gas to heat up the water, and heats up very quickly.
  16. bro, i see some progress... exciting isn't it. btw... i noticed your 3D for kitchen utilises some granite top with the specks on it. you sure you wanna go with that? considered purely dark colour instead? my current home is the same like that... gets on my nerves.. can't see dirt properly. always end up with parts of it not properly cleaned, and ants come.
  17. Yes, confirmed. You need to install a heater tank. Sometimes the water pressure is so pathetic, it can't even support the 707 Princeton instant heater. The guy from the shop told me, if the pressure is too low, you can cry and shower at the same time cos the pressure would be like someone peeing on you. I got a fright and switched to a simple instant heater.
  18. Looks like yuor reno also coming along very smoothly and quickly.
  19. thanks! yup... a lot of boxing up. aircon trunkings also boxed up, as I have a fake wall that runs along the entire house. i got the air-con guys to run the trunking separately for all 3 units so that the individual trunkings are smaller sized. how come you have to wait so long for opennet? I thought when you sign on with telco, will get appt within 3 weeks. the opennet guy who did my place was very experienced, and service oriented. he said if need be, get someone to lay a conduit in the light boxes or places you wanna hide the fibre cable, with a pull through rope inside). not the trunking for the electric cables type (those sure get stuck), but a conduit like the aircon water drainage pipe (the round smooth type). with a round conduit, the opennet guys can pull the fibre cables through very easily. not like mine, stuck left, right and centre and need to cut holes. don't let opennet ruin your beautiful reno.
  20. Can you tell which is tile and which is laminate? Coming up tomorrow (yes, Sunday! ), painting. Once that is done, the carpentry, glass works and other stuff can all come in. Crossing fingers.
  21. DAY 27 Went up to my flat yesterday evening (Sat) and was pleasantly surprised the flooring had been completed and looked good... well, at least good enough for me. The extended living room area into the dining area and kitchen. Viewed from the kitchen. Platform for my TV area. Very nice look and feel to it. Better than I expected. Reminds me of a dance studio floor. Another view of the TV area.
  22. Very NICE!!! And very nicely done elbow for the air-con water drainage. An air-con expert told me your way of laying that pipe is the most ideal. Very easy for the service men to suck all the gunk out of the drainage system to prevent clogging when they turn up for servicing, because the pipes are not buried or concealed in the flooring.
  23. No. It's because the wall it was stuck to originally had to be torn down as I changed the layout of my home. I don't want to lay any cat5e cables as my 3 room flat is a small place, really unnecessary. I only need the TP near my TV, which is a smart tv, and everything else is wireless. Also using the free fixed line that came with the telco package, so attaching a phone to the RG. which will all be at the tv console, hidden or otherwise. So everything in one convenient place would be more practical.
  24. Yo, Dreaming and Potatoes! Now that it is done, I dare to confirm it CAN be done. Swee swee. Upside down also not scared.
