Does anyone know who I can engage or where can I find those transparent plastic/perspex stuff that I can attach to the metal gate to keep water out? Wonderful HDB flats of yesteryear, all probably didn't take into account that. When it rains heavily.. and wind blows... my front door gets wet.. and I am using laminates.. can't afford to have wet floors!

Wow Rover, it's only been a few days since I last checked up on your reno, and my goodness.. it's like speedy Gonzales. Very nice!! I really like how u lay out your space. Can't wait to see how your bedroom and kitchen will turn out.

Nice Blanco sinks. I am also using a Blanco, and absolutely no regrets.

Nice... very nice. Can't wait to see the final product.

So looking forward to seeing pictures of your reno journey.. not to mention the end product. Enjoy the journey!

How exciting. I can totally identify with that feeling.

Tried to pm you. Message got rejected.

Haven't had the chance to scrutinise the quotation, but I understand from your t-blog tread that you are doing quite a fair bit right? Tearing down walls, hacking and creating island kitchen etc. Looks like quite market price liao. Can't complain. From experience, I realised it's 'a penny for quality'. Sometimes they might quote you lower, but the quality of the finishing might be a bit different, right down to the laminates, the carpentry, the ceiling works, etc. Even the door frames, handles can vary quite a bit in quality.

Don't have lah. I live alone. It's as live in as it can be liao.

Good good. I absolutely love the location. Very convenient. And yes, 'run in' liao. It's been 9+months leh.

I can't remember the exact shop. If I didn't get it wrong, there should be one along South Bridge Rd. One of those shop houses, on the side where Smith/Temple/Sago Street is.

Art shops in Chinatown do replicas. Go check out the shops and browse what they have. If they don't can give then a clear photo, and they can get artists to copy. That is if you can't find reprints for sale lah.

The vase was from Robinson's from some years back. Chances are, they might now have the exact same thing, but I am sure you will be able to find similar vases in their household department. The things in the glass vase from from Ikea some months back. They are seasonal, sometimes have, sometimes not. Other times they bring in other things.

I do cook a few times a week and sometimes on weekends. The usual stir frying, boiling soup, etc. Nothing like the Malay housewife auntie. So far I find it ok. Been staying here 9 months and as long as you make it a point to clean up right after cooking, I find it ok. The fumes don't seem to dirty the glass door also. I find the glass backsplash easier to clean. I think less likely to get stains compared to tiles. I have another friend who did the same, cos his ID recommended it, saying that even if it gets dirty or cracked from heavy use after some years, it is very easy to just replace the glass backsplash. Hope this answers your questions.

Ok, got it. Thanks!

Very nice, Rage. For your kitchen glass door, do you have a track on the floor? Or is it suspended? How's the mechanism? Smooth? Wobbly?

Rover. Why don't you go walk walk at IMM. There are many ID shops there, pretend to be shopping for ID (not sure if you are using ID at all), and just ask them if pipings can be rerouted.. and what it involves, etc. Alternatively, call HDB and ask. Send a photo in if you have to. See what they have to say. The pipings do look very complicated. For all you know, being on the top floor, you might not need to keep some of them?

Rage, saw your lovely glass door to the bathroom. How come it's not frosted before delivery and installation wan? Noticed you also use shiny handle, not scared water and finger print marks ah?
-
Mine also still intact. Can't bring myself to tear it off. Also, once it is off, fingerprints and dirt will appear. This is called AI MIAH MAI SWEE.
-
Yah.. I agree. I changed mine too, although my ID says no need. Can't risk 30y.o. pipes corroding and leaking after it gets boxed up. V scary should anything happen.

Very nice! Your reno seems to be going pretty fast too.
