  1. Great idea! Can hold DIY workshops too, that'll be so interesting! If this comes to be, count me in!
  2. I got Patrick (fr Ho Bee) to do it for my home. Very satisfied with the reasonable price & good trustworthy service provided. Do check out the thread dedicated to Ho Bee. A LOT of satisfied customers, me included
  3. Hmm... very interesting. I still remember the back-breaking feel of DIY painting. Using those conventional wooly rollers are really no joke, they can get really heavy after awhile being paint logged and all. Have never used those foam types before though. Will keep this in mind if I ever need to do anymore DIY painting in future. Thanks for sharing!
  4. We bought faux suede roman blinds fr Spotlight for our floor to ceiling windows in our hall and installed them ourselves. Best time to buy them would be during the 20% storewide discount. We did, and it cost us less than $100 on promotion + 20% storewide discount, was a really great buy! Amazing savings!
  5. Hey KayLan, thanks for sharing! Now I know where to head if I need lotsa wood for DIY carpentry Must remember to show us yr finished project when u r done ok!
  6. Thanks for d tips & advise Gladys, appreciate it! Gonna mount it directly on d wall. Actually d headboard is NOT going to b used for d bed but as d back-support for our platform sofa that'll look sth like this (behind d sofa cushion, it's bare wall, so wanna make my own 'headboard' to protect d wall and not look too bare):- Do u have any advise how best to mount it in this case? And any way to prevent d microsuede fabric on d 'headboard' fr getting all 'wrinkly' and to stay flat & taut when it's up? Cos it's quite a big surface, so am a bit concerned that it'll get all messed up fr use and wudnt stay nice & taut & neat anymore
  7. Yes, that's what d salesperson said too, thanks Gladys! I'll go check it out when I drop by their office soon. BTW, not sure if u know abt plywood too, but where can I find a good supplier and what type/thickness shd I be looking for? Since we r on this topic, I might as well ask u about d fabric as well am pretty set on getting a microfibre or microsuede type fabric for d headboard, where's d cheapest source?
  8. Thanks for sharing Gladys! I've given both of them a call, and this is what I found out:- 36" x 75" (std single bed size), 4" thick - High density foam Tah Li Thong: $48.15 after gst Hua's Foam: $45 - Medium density foam TLT: $30 Hua's Foam: $20 So, no prizes for guessing which one I'll b buying from
  9. Hi GladysLim, Do u happen to have their contact numbers with u? U sound like u really know about this stuff, I need to get some foam for making a headboard too, what type would u recommend?
  10. Very nice cosy home & surroundings, esp love d gym facing d pool. Very relaxing & heps motivate one to use it! hahaha I think d size is just nice for two, makes a cosy lovenest for newly-weds U made a good decision to buy it, smart investment for sure!
  11. Ahhh.... yes! I knew I'd seen them SOMEWHERE before, just cudnt figure our where!! Really pretty, looks really cosy & homely. Very nice TV console & white TV too! Betcha cant wait to get home everyday now...
  12. Wahhh nice nice! Very nice English Country bedsheets! Fr where?
  13. hi morghanjess, Love wat u've done to yr place! i LOVE English country theme too, and if it were up to me, I'd hav designed my home a LOT like yrs too, lotsa white wood EVERYWHERE! very cosy & homely. my hubby & I actually viewed a few units in Castle Green too, but din find one tat we really liked. pity, or we cud've been neighbours liao. as it is, we r further down d road only, not too far fr yr plc actually. will pm u more details....
  14. If comparing 'small reno' I think mine proably d 'smallest'. Total minor works less than 1.7k But Patrick still made time for us & I found him really reliable & responsible. Just hav to b patient with his quotations. I guess sometimes if u catch him during d 'wrong timing' than just bad luck lor... Even after my minor reno was completed, we had to call him for an 'emergency' on a Sunday afternoon. My hubby was drilling a hole next to d kitchen sink to hang up our utensils bar/holder, and so 'lucky' to drill right into d water pipe *bang head* Patrick was so kind & prompt in gettng his plumber to come by to patch up d pipe for us, all within one hour! I'm really impressed with his service & would vouch for him any time. Actually up till today he still has not charged us for d 'patching up' job for our kitchen water pipe. He quoted us abt $50 or less when we called him, but so far he's not sent us d invoice (more than 2mths liao), so I guess it's complimentary service Ohhh and one more thing, our total minor reno costs came up to abt $1730 iirc, and he gave us another discount of $30 (so round up to only $1700) without us even asking for it, he just gav it to us out of his own accord! Amazing I say! *two thumbs up!* very generous & not calculative at all... My hubby & I both agree wholeheartedly that we r so lucky to find an honest reliable contractor like Patrick!
